"They were committed to the project’s success, and their designers were great."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there?
I’m the former project manager for a medical center.
What challenge were you trying to address with pitangoUX?
We hired pitangoUX to create the UI/UX design for a command center we were building.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We provided data from various departments and everything related to operations. They designed the UI/UX and built six screens for our real-time dashboards or command center. A different company was in charge of development. The dashboards were smart, showing the real-time situation in the hospital.
What is the team composition?
I worked with a project manager, chief designer, and the CEO.
How did you come to work with pitangoUX?
Of the 5–6 companies we interviewed, we felt this team was the best fit for our needs.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our partnership ran from January–November 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their UI/UX design skills were amazing. They understood the concept of what we were trying to do and made good suggestions that contributed strongly to the project’s success. I enjoyed working with them, and I’m looking forward to another opportunity to hire them in my current position.
How did pitangoUX perform from a project management perspective?
We had no delays in the project. We used Excel Sheets and communicated via email and calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They felt like a partner and a friend. They were committed to the project’s success, and their designers were great. Overall, they did everything that was asked of them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Present your wants and needs clearly by providing your step-by-step expectations. In addition, document everything.

UX/UI Services for Mobile Parking Platform

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the product team leader for an automated parking service for the U.S. market.
What challenge were you trying to address with pitangoUX?
I needed someone to provide UX/UI consultancy services.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They provide UX/UI services for our mobile app, payment machine and kiosk for drivers in the garage, driver guiding system, and reception room screen. We’re almost finished with those projects and we’re moving to the next step.
We’re looking to do a reskin of my company website and build a new user management system, so I want their UX/UI support on that, as well.
What is the team composition?
I mainly interact with the VP of sales and one of the founders.
How did you come to work with pitangoUX?
I was looking for a UX company to work with. I heard about pitangoUX and saw their work. Out of all the competition, they offered the best value at a fair price. We also had the best chemistry with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $60,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in April 2019 and the collaboration is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
From the sales team’s perspective, their work has been a big differentiator. When we compete with other companies to win a project, having a mobile app and innovative UX helps us. Although I don’t have KPIs to compare it to yet, I’m very pleased with the work they provide.
The parking application is already launched in the App Store and Google Play. It’s available for everyone to download. We’re going to launch the kiosk next week. The other two projects are scheduled to be launched at the beginning of October.
How did pitangoUX perform from a project management standpoint?
I’ve had some issues with their cadence and delivery times due to COVID-19. Until now, the UX was always ready before the developers but now I’m reaching the point my developers have to wait for the new UI screens.
We communicate via phone, WhatsApp, and email. We usually communicate once a day. They’re very communicative. When we want to review the project, we use InVision. We don’t have a lot of face-to-face time because of COVID-19. When we are pleased with all the results, they upload all the assets to Zeplin, and then we have straight communication with them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re a community leader in Israel. They’re at all the UX/UI conventions. They offered the best price for us and their communication is very good.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Three to four months ago, I was a huge fan where I’d give them a 9 out of 10. I now have issues with the cadence of the delivery but I understand that COVID-19 is one of the reasons — I plan to speak with the CEO about it. Now, I’d give them a 7 out of 10 — it’s still high but there’s been a change.

UI/UX Design for Payment Solutions Company

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CTO of Splitit, a payment solutions provider.
What challenge were you trying to address with pitangoUX?
We needed a good UI/UX design for our shoppers and merchants. We needed to put some effort on the conversion rate in relation to the UI/UX.
What was the scope of their involvement?
pitangoUX does our UI/UX designs. They also designed a new website. We give them our design guidelines to follow. Their team helped with other products such as new payment solutions. We did a lot of work with them focusing on customer experience, merchant experience, and conversion rate innovation.
One thing they did was the user story for the initial project. Other things included brainstorming how we’d provide the best solution for merchants. We’d brainstorm, and they’d do the research and present us with some options. They were building designs for all of our customer-facing solutions.
What is the team composition?
There were many people involved. I had a person on my side reporting to me. She has left and now the pitangoUX team is talking to me directly until I hire a new VP of product.
How did you come to work with pitangoUX?
I came from a different company that worked with them, and they did an amazing job there. When I came here, they had a designing company whose deliverables were not at a level I appreciated. I told my VP of product and interviewed two other firms that I knew and one of them was pitangoUX.
How much have you invested with them?
We invest between $15,000–$20,000 a month.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around June 2019, and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We measure the impact of our product and then we make decisions. These are internal numbers I can’t share. Every deliverable was amazing and smoothly done. Even when I had to contact them for an urgent project, they were available.
How did pitangoUX perform from a project management standpoint?
Some projects weren’t organized on our side. We had to refer back to them often and change it. They’re very collaborative and on time.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re professional and provide good deliverables.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have weekly calls like we do, and be sure to plan ahead.

Operation Command Center Development for Hospital
"The thing that makes our work together great is that they’re very warm people and dedicated to their projects."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a medical operation project manager at the second biggest hospital in Israel. I’m currently building a command center for managing all the operations in the hospital.
What challenge were you trying to address with pitangoUX?
I needed help with the UI/UX and programming of the command center system. When I got this project from the CEO of the hospital, he wanted the project to have a wow impact.
We wanted the donors to see something amazing, something they haven’t seen before, and something they don’t have in any other hospital in Israel. We’re trying to display all the data in a very beautiful and nice visual way that’s effective and impressive.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I came up with all of the data and asked pitangoUX to help me present it on the big screen. I needed their professional eye to know exactly what data should be shown and in what way. I also wanted it to look brilliant.
They did the UI/UX and programming of the system. We analyze a lot of data from many areas of the hospital including the ER, the inpatient wards, and the surgery rooms. We’re trying to give the management of the hospital one place to look at the screens and see the operational status of the hospital.
They finished the first five screens, and they just started phase two for the next five screens.
What is the team composition?
I’m working with 3-4 people including the project manager. I also work directly with the designer and one of the programmers.
How did you come to work with pitangoUX?
I did an online search and asked for recommendations from people. I chose between 3-4 suppliers that came to my hospital to present to me.
We chose pitangoUX because they were the most impressive. I liked their design concept. I liked their commitment to building the project. They were very knowledgeable and people that could take my project one step further.
How much have you invested with them?
The total cost is about $200,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2020 and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The thing that makes our work together great is that they’re very warm people and dedicated to their projects. I don’t feel like we have a client/supplier relationship. We’re cooperating together as one unit. It really makes the project fun.
They’re very flexible. I sometimes come up with crazy ideas or demands that aren’t in the scope but they always react very positively to it. I will continue with them for the next project.
How did pitangoUX perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management is good. Sometimes I need to push a little more to get the deadlines met. I’m assuming it’s because they have a lot of work. All in all, they’re right on time.
Their project manager is very nice. I wish he were more technical sometimes because I come from the developer world. Sometimes I ask for very specific questions and then he needs to go and ask his developer to give me the answer.
If he’d be more technical, it’d be a little easier, but it’s great and he’s doing a good job. We use email. They use InVision in which I can approve and put comments about the design.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re really down to earth people and very committed to the project. They work in cooperation. They even come to see the project in my hospital.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The project manager should be a bit more technical. It would make the flow of my questions and demands a little faster.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be very organized. You need to have an Excel file or spreadsheet of some kind and write exactly what you need from them.
Be very precise and manage it well. Put very firm deadlines because if you don’t, sometimes they will take their time. It’s not because they’re lazy but it’s because you didn’t tell them.

UI/UX Design Services for Mobile Grocery-Ordering Platform
“Their team really understood my desire, took time to discuss my vision, and translated it into life.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of Legal; that’s the name of the company but we have a platform called Yarkani. The platform is for greengrocers to use alongside their apps for customers to order groceries.
What challenge were you trying to address with pitangoUX?
We needed them to build the platform as mobile applications, one for grocers and another for end users.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I presented my vision and idea to the pitangoUX team. They did the UI/UX designs, taking my vision and putting it together to create the look, feel, and user journey of the app. pitangoUX also handled the function that allows the grocer to receive an order and fill it.
The platform is mobile-only and is mainly for greengrocers. It includes an application for the end-user to order groceries from local grocery stores. The app for the end-users is a hybrid app developed for iOS and Android. There’s a web app for greengrocers and admin; this is where the grocers are managed. Each grocer can have their own app on the platform.
What is the team composition?
My main point of contact is our project manager. There’s also a UX designer and two platform designers.
How did you come to work with pitangoUX?
They were referred to me by someone I worked with in the past.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested roughly $55,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working together in April 2018, and the engagement is ongoing. They add new features when I request it.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The platform went live in the App Store and Google Play in August 2018; we began marketing it in early 2019. It has high ratings and very positive reviews. Users go out of their way to email me about how easy and intuitive it is. The grocers were hesitant at first, but the team made the platform very easy and clear, even for people who are not tech-savvy. I believe the statistics speak to the quality of their design and graphics. I’m extremely happy about all the work they’ve done.
How did pitangoUX perform from a project management standpoint?
The project manager has done a good job. Things went smoothly, and the flow was great. We have meetings or phone calls when it’s relevant.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re very professional and have great UI/UX designers. Their team really understood my desire, took time to discuss my vision, and translated it into life through their amazing UX work and great visuals.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there isn’t anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have a clear idea of what you want your product to do. They’ll make the most of it for you.
pitangoUX's UI/UX design skills were incredible. The client appreciated that they understood their concept well and was able to provide remarkable insights. Their timeliness and their ability to execute all of the client's requested deliverables made for a strong partnership.
