Scope of work:

• Assist the CIO to introduce a change management function to improve user adoption of business based projects that used technology platforms to deliver business value and ROI.
• Use multiple methods to improve visibility and communication of performance of projects and the value business derived from the projects including the contribution of the technology platforms.
• Provide training and guidance to the change management function and the change managers assigned to projects.
• Provide ongoing improvement to the change management function.

Key deliverables:

1. Identify methods to improve communication and visibility of IT performance across the various business functions.
2. Package communication that explains the business value and contribution of technology across business functions.
3. Develop a structure for change management related to IT projects run from within the project office with specific reference to business based projects with business ROI.
4. Develop metrics for performance and design templates to track and monitor performance.
5. Manage ongoing training and improvement of the change management function.
6. Toward the end of the project, with the above in place, the focus shifted to design a corporate change management function.

Highly interactive with an emphasis on feedback and performance. Easy to work with. Clearly understood the brief and came up with innovative ways of delivering to the brief. Made a step change improvement to the performance of business projects with underpinning technology architectures.

Able to deliver on requirements and tight deadlines across the multiple complex layers of projects that spanned supply chain to retail each with a different cadence for time to market. Beside the daily and monthly operational aspects there were usually tight deadlines based on timelines for corporate annual reports.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to quickly switch and adapt based on evolving or changing business requirements. They were able to deliver quality products and outcomes that met the requirements presented to them.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Piilo Group could have done differently?

Change management was a relatively new function at that time and we were all learning. They were one step ahead and able to implement new innovations and evolve as the project progressed and matured.

The final outcome was a successful change management function that stood the test of time and kept delivering high quality change management outcomes to ensure adoption and ROI of business based projects that were using technology platforms.

Piilo's assistance in Massmart's supply chain transformation efforts was exceptional. The consolidation of five different companies with varying system landscapes and cultures was no small feat, but Piilo's involvement from strategy to execution was instrumental in making the transition a success.

One of the standout features of Piilo's approach was their emphasis on resilience and change fitness. This allowed Massmart to respond quickly and effectively when faced with unexpected challenges, such as the riots in July 2021 that resulted in the destruction of one of their facilities. Despite this setback, Piilo's support enabled Massmart to establish a new distribution center in just 10 days, a remarkable achievement that speaks to their expertise and commitment to delivering results.
