Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the managing director at Peritus Health Management, an integrated occupational health and occupational hygiene company. We provide B2B support by looking after people’s health at work. We support businesses in managing their compliance obligation from managing sickness absence or undertaking health surveillance or noise managing those types of things.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with PAV I.T. Services?

We were looking for an IT company to support us with information security. We also needed help in making sure the infrastructure behind the services that we do, how we store documents, and how all the hardware and software work together to do the job properly.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

PAV I.T. provides us with guidance on how to set up our security systems. They make sure the antivirus software is functioning correctly to protect us against opportunist attackers. They also installed multi-factor authentication, and provide ongoing maintenance of our end user devices to make sure they’re safe and secure. 

Additionally, the team monitors network controls and IT equipment. PAV I.T. makes sure we have the appropriate backups in place and archiving facilities, and they help us with buying of new equipment. 

We’re about to move into new premises in October. They’ll be helping us with putting in all of the networking cables, etc. They do all the infrastructure arrangements.

What is the team composition?

We have an account manager, as well as a technical person we can go to if we have questions or a problem. There’s another team member who does the main implementation of strategic initiatives, and a help desk staff.

How did you come to work with PAV I.T. Services?

They were referred to us by our previous IT provider. They listened to our problems, and I felt they would be a good fit. I bought into their philosophy, so I decided to partner with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2020 and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When I first set up an interview with PAV I.T., I had a set of KPIs and my expectations. Once they got the scope in place, they were very effective and personable in working with me to make sure I’m comfortable and my goals are being met. 

They’ve addressed all the KPIs that I wanted them to address. They do what they’re asked to do quite quickly. They coordinate everything well. I jump from one subject to the next when I’m explaining things and they don’t have any issues spending time with me.

How did PAV I.T. Services perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been onsite through some various bits and pieces that were needed. The majority of the work has been done over Microsoft Teams and is remote based. It’s worked well. We also communicate via telephone. There’s a ticketing system in place for breaks, fixes, and repairs. The project manager is the main person we go to.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their level of organization and competence from onboarding through to the current services they’re providing is impressive. They’re slick, and they always seem to be on top of things. They have a very clear implementation plan and it inspires confidence.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I’m happy with the services they provide. I’m delighted with the level of communication.

Go for it. They’re a competent company who delivers what they promise in a timely and efficient way. They’re highly reliable.

I’m the head of IT and facilities at an online fashion retailer. It’s a French group, and I work for a UK subsidiary.

What challenge were you trying to address with PAV I.T. Services?

We brought them on for IT managed services and consulting as well as cybersecurity.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The first project was for offsite backups. We had a backup product that had started off as a trial. When it ended, there was a threefold increase in price. That coincided with a change to our operational circumstances where we previously had been doing site-to-site replication using two of our sites.

One of the sites was transferred to third-party ownership, and the application was no longer viable. PAV I.T. Services’ sister company provided us with an offsite backup solution using a different type of solution.

We got in touch with PAV I.T. Services through the sister company because they merged. They watch our firewalls as well as offer general advice, hints, and tips. Their team also handles our HP hardware renewals and reseller roles for backup.

We’re about to start a support arrangement with them in August. Within my team, I have one person who looks after all the network and infrastructure. When he’s gone, I have a gap so PAV I.T. Services is going to support me in that way. They’ll cover the holiday and sick leave time for my internal network person.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with a couple of people throughout the engagement. Currently, I’m working with two individuals including an account manager and a person handling the renewals.

It was through the backup work. We got in touch with a local company that got us connected with the sister company I mentioned before. About a year or so ago they merged with PAV I.T. Services. It was through that relationship that I got to know PAV I.T. Services as they are today.

We’ve invested about £30,000 (approximately $38,000 USD).

Our ongoing partnership with PAV I.T. Services started in March 2019.
