Zoo Miami, Florida: Mission Everglades Invitation
When #ZooMiami opened up their latest exhibit Florida: Mission Everglades, they were in need of a unique invitation that would create excitement for the upcoming opening of the exhibit. When you think everglades, you think CROCS!!! We love paper art so we had this crazy idea to turn the invite into the shape of a croc. Thank goodness the zoo staff is as unique as we are and the concept was approved. Then we had the daunting task of finding a vendor to print and create! After some digging, we found the vendor. Invited guests were treated to this invitation (closed size is 6x9 inches and opens to ~18 inches). It still is one of my favorite invitations because it not only was different and fun, but the client had a lot of trust in our ability to execute and deliver this unique invitation. #parrotfishstudio #outoftheboxcreative #uniquedesigns #weloveourclients❤ #floridamissioneverglades

Press Kit for Dicovery Channel LATAM Show called Planeta Humano
When #DiscoveryChannelLATAM was launching their show #PlanetaHumano, they needed a unique kit that would showcase the uniqueness of the show. The show itself was full of panoramics and beautiful scenery. We came up with an interesting solution to what could have been a very standard brochure.

Discovery Solutions Guidelines Product Integration Brochure
When working with brands, it's critical that there is consistency. Discovery needed to put together a guide that would allow their teams to understand what advertising content was appropriate and aligned to their brand values. This document further provided clarity in regards to brand and advertising issues that arise as projects are developed. Internal documents don't need to be boring! In fact, they should also reflect the brand values and personality in order to better express the critical content. #DiscoveryLATAM #guides

Discovery Kids LATAM 3D Mundo Model Style Guide
Did you know that we have a expert 3D modeler and illustrator as part of the #parrotfishstudio team? in fact, Humberto is currently in the final stages of a Masters in Interactive Design and Game Design. We believe that you should never stop learning and refining your skills. Discovery had a 2D character and they needed a 3D model to help when developing 3D products like plush dolls. Humberto turned the 2D model into a 3D model. Suzette then took those assets and put together a formal style guide. #3DGraphics #StyleGuide #licensing #modeling #3d #maquette

Invitation to Audi Event
We are a small design firm, but don’t make the mistake of underestimating a small firm. For over 20 years, we have done projects that are sometimes high profile and have partnered with agencies to provide graphic support/development for some of their projects. We at Parrot Fish are a little partial to the work we have done for Audi through the tremendously talented team at Siinc Agency. It's a pretty cool brand and we were trusted to take on some projects. The first piece in the slides above showcases an invitation! Yes, an invitation that went out to celebrities. Pretty cool, right???!!!!!

Zoo Miami Guide Map
For many years, #ZooMiami had a very flat, standard map that was a very functional map. The entertainment industry has seen a surge in maps for their guests that are not only functional, but also aethetically more visually appealing. Zoo Miami is one of the top 10 zoos in the US and felt that they needed to give their map a rework. We were beyond excited to tackle this project since it was a great use of our illustration and design expertise.

Sensacion Album Covers for Megatrax
Megatrax wanted to launch a new album collection and asked #parrotfishstudio to design the logo and develop the look for the collection.

Illustrations
First and foremost, the principles at #parrotfishstudio are classically trained fine artists. Both Suzette and Humberto graduated from #NWSA high school and then college. In fact, Humberto and Suzette are the founding class of New World School of the Arts. We are able to offer unique and creative solutions in-house. That unique skill set allows us also to develop more impactful and specialized art and designs. #illustrators #medical #medicalilustrations #artists #nwsa

Postcard Teaser for the launch of Discovery Travel & Adventure LATAM Channel
Launching a television channel presents a very unique set of challenges. I have been blessed to develop high end launch press kits for quite a few channels and shows. In the coming weeks we will be sharing some press kit portfolio samples. We love those project because it requires a lot of creativity and ingenuity. It requires a solid understanding of production and printing techniques. There is another layer to designing press kits, the financial component. It can get quite expensive to produce and things like deadlines, quantities, language versions, etc. can all have a great impact on costs. We handle projects from concept to delivery of final product.
This postcard teaser was part 1 of 3 parts for the launch of the Discovery Travel & Adventure channel, part of the Discovery Networks offering.
The concept: See the world in a whole new way
We wanted it to feel like an old style letter you would receive. We felt it was something very different and would catch people attention. People like to receive something that feels warm and handmade, personal. We literally bought paper and hand cut the envelopes. We also made a hot wax stamp and made these wax seals to close the envelopes. We were taking something that was very standard and giving it a twist. That was just to catch someone’s attention. Now we needed something to keep them excited as to what would be coming next. Though a lot of trial and error, we figured out how to create these pull out postcards. When you receive the card, the photo was in black and white. When you pulled out the insert, you would have a full color photo. PRETTY COOL, RIGHT???!!!!! I know. We were even surprised at how well this worked. (The printer wanted to kill us, but we think it was worth the pain in production!)
How it works: so we printing the black (K) plate on a mylar/plastic translucent stock. The other color plates (CMY) were printed on paper plate. We had to construct the casing so that there was a white sheet of paper separating the K sheet from the CMY sheets. It took a lot of ingenuity, but it was worth all of the efforts. We won a GOLD PROMAX Award fo this piece!

Product Catalog for JC Toys
Designing a product catalog provides interesting challenges. You have a scenario where you are required to add in all kinds of relevant data to each specific product that is visually "cluttering" but necessary. JC Toys has a beautiful product line so that made it easier to incorporate beautiful lifestyle photography with product shots and added design elements to enhance the imagery.

Discovery Kids Licensing Style Guide
Suzette and and Maria began their careers working for Disney Consumer Products Latin America. As part of the regional office for Latin America, we were charged with developing seasonal style guides. We brought that expertise to #parrotfishstudio. When #DiscoveryLATAM launched their licensing division, we were tasked to develop the style guides which included developing all the content (icons, badges, borders, patterns, color palettes, product concepts, etc). #licensing #globalbrands #launch #kidsDesign #ProductConcepts #illustration

HITN Mall Event
We were asked to conceptualize and execute a mall event for the television channel HITN. They wanted to build brand awareness in one of their target markets in Miami. We developed graphics and designed the activities that formed part of the event. This 20x20foot space was designed in such a way to have 4 areas that focused on channel offerings, from a kids area to a VR/Tech area. It was a traveling exhibit and was a huge success for our client. #EventGraphics #MallEvent #Signage #promotional items

Voices For Children Website
For close to 15 years, we have worked with Voices For Children Foundation doing pro bono work. We have always believed in giving back to our community and kids have a soft spot in our heart. We wanted to help kids that were in need. Voices For Children is an amazing non-for-profit that helps make sure that abused, abandoned and neglected kids in foster system are provided with legal representation to make sure they get the help they need. They also provide auxiliary services like tutoring or support for kids aging out of the foster care system.
Talking about abused kids is a never easy. In fact, it can be downright uncomfortable. For years their website was pretty straightforward and often used imagery of happy kids. That is the end goal, but not the reality. We felt that to give them a boost of interest, we needed to talk about the reality, at least for a little while. The idea being that if you dont know the problem, you can't fix it. We hope that the site helped to wake some people up as to the reality of foster kids in Miami and we hope it energized other to help and make a difference through their donation of time or funds.

Graphic Design for Nonprofit Hospital
"She’s worked with huge brands and her creativity makes her stand out."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the regional digital specialist for Cleveland Clinic Florida, a nonprofit hospital.
What challenge were you trying to address with Parrot Fish Studio?
We hired them for a variety of graphic design projects for our hospital.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Suzette (Owner & President) creates graphics for events, our website, internal projects, and various departments within the hospital. Her work also includes brochures, directories, and other materials to use externally to bring other physicians in.
One example is when the Cleveland location sends us their materials, we use Suzette to recreate it with relevant Florida information. Our process runs by us giving her the idea or a title for our vision and she’ll take the lead from there.
What is the team composition?
We work directly with Suzette.
How did you come to work with Parrot Fish Studio?
Someone within my company had worked with Suzette previously, so they suggested we bring her back to work for us, and she’s been our main provider since then.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent in the range of $50,000–$200,000 since I started working with her.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in June 2015 and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
All of our departments and our leadership are very happy with her work. Everyone is consistently impressed with her work and never have any complaints. She knocks the work out of the park.
How did Parrot Fish Studio perform from a project management standpoint?
She’s great at managing her time and getting the work done quickly. Sometimes, a last-minute project is thrown at us and she will work with us into the night to finish it. Her reminders are also helpful about the projects. She’s extremely organized with her time.
What did you find most impressive about them?
She’s worked with huge brands and her creativity makes her stand out. Once we tell her our ideas, she’ll give us five great options, not just one. She also doesn’t require a ton of direction because she will take charge.
Her input on our ideas is great—she’s not afraid to speak up and give us her great idea. She’s also the fastest provider I’ve ever worked with.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I have zero complaints about her work.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I recommend her 100% to anyone. She has experience in everything, not just healthcare, so she’ll know how to work in any field and be creative while meeting your deadlines.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the President of 305 Pink Pack. We are a nonprofit organization that provides free services to women going through cancer treatment in South Florida.
For what projects/services did your company hire Parrot Fish Studio?
We were having difficulties with branding, and within minutes, Parrot Fish had revamped it to exactly what we had hoped for! We also required hospital pamphlets and patient flyers that would summarize services, as well as digital media for ongoing programs.
What were your goals for this project?
We are the only organization of it's kind in our area, and we needed branding that would stand out and grab people's attention at the same time while being sensitive due to the nature of our group.
How did you select this vendor?
Parrot Fish Studio was well known to several friends on a professional and personal level. After meeting in person and seeing their portfolio there was no question that we would be working together.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
The initial design session was key. We had a rough idea of what we wanted, but did not know how to properly interpret it.They worked with our marketing team and quickly created our logo. From there, we continued to work on web designs, social media designs, and hospital and patient pamphlets. Our project is ongoing with more to come!
What was the team composition?
One person from the vendor was involved from the beginning. This was great for us, because we are a small organization and it was wonderful to have the same contact throughout the project who understood exactly what we were doing and wanted to achieve.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our social media followed continue to grow on a weekly basis, increasing our donor contribution as well. What I love about Parrot Fish is they are involved fully in our mission, and are always providing creative ideas to drive more traffic to our pages.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Workflow has been extremely effective with Parrot Fish. Response time has always been better than expected, and the turn around time for our changing needs has been minimal, ensuring that we get our information out quickly and efficiently.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
What I found most impressive about this company is their dedication and passion for what they do.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Nothing that we feel would benefit from improvement.
The materials from Parrot Fish Studio continually impress the client, earning praise for their high quality and fast turnaround times. In addition to being vocal and insightful, their team has been a welcome asset to managing deadlines and producing work that meets expectations.
