Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a freelance content creator and writer. Most of my clients are small businesses looking to launch or revamp their brand to different platforms and audiences. I help them create tailored content for their website or blog, and I also provide the strategy behind this content.
What challenge were you trying to address with ORANKS INFOTECH?
I started to organically receive requests for freelance work and realized that I needed a website to showcase my work as a professional.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I used to have a blog on another WordPress website and ORANKS INFOTECH’s founder helped me revamp it. After that, they developed a new professional WordPress website for me. I gave them a detailed brief of what I wanted and several examples of websites. Then, they built the site and customized the colors and other features to make it fit my brand. The team also added my old blog as a section of the larger website.
In addition to that, ORANKS INFOTECH added some features and plug-ins to the backend so I can make updates easily without their help.
What is the team composition?
My main point of contact was Khalid (Founder), but I’m sure there were more people behind the scenes.
How did you come to work with ORANKS INFOTECH?
Khalid and I used to work together. I knew the way he worked and that he was good at getting things done. Before he started ORANKS INFOTECH, he’d helped me improve the blog that I had, making it look more professional. He also implemented SEO and therefore was familiar with the backend.
I didn’t look at other providers because Khalid knew my website quite well, and I thought it would be faster to get it done through him than to go to someone else and have to explain every detail.
How much have you invested with them?
I spent 8,000 Indian Rupees (approximately $100 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together on this second project from January–March 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The main success criteria for me was the visual aspect of the website, and ORANKS INFOTECH made it look more professional. They accomplished every request I had and made the website more reflective of my brand. The improvements they made to the backend made it easier for me to edit and update the website without needing to go back to them.
How did ORANKS INFOTECH perform from a project management standpoint?
We had very good communication. We mainly talked and shared screenshots through WhatsApp and also had two Zoom meetings. It was an easy process because Khalid and I used to be colleagues and knew each other. Khalid kept me updated on the process. Whenever timelines weren’t met, he talked it over with me.
ORANKS INFOTECH is a small business, and working with them didn’t feel like the experience of hiring an agency. Given that I’m a small business myself, that worked well for me.
What did you find most impressive about them?
ORANKS INFOTECH understood what I wanted quite quickly. Even though there were two iterations of the website, they fixed the changes I requested after I explained how I wanted the site to look. They’re good at both the technical and aesthetic sides of website development.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could be more proactive with communication. Khalid could’ve delegated the project management process so I could be updated on the project more often.
Any advice for potential customers?
I recommend that future clients be aware that working with ORANKS INFOTECH might not be like hiring a big agency. However, they can get the job done and are competitive. If people are looking for someone to help them with a simple project like the one I had, ORANKS INFOTECH is the right choice.
Thanks to the new website, the client can now showcase their services in a professional manner. ORANKS INFOTECH also made it possible to update the website easily. Working with them was a good experience, and everything felt more personal given that they are a small business.
