Energy Analysis Applications
Customer Profile
Our client is a global diversified technology and industrial leader serving customers in more than 150 countries. Their 150,000+ employees create quality products, services and solutions to optimize energy and operational efficiencies of buildings.
The Challenge
Energy usage is exploding all over the world. Companies need visibility to their energy usage in order to make business decisions every day. Small tweaks and the optimization of a building's energy usage can add up to big savings. Today, energy usage inside of most of the world's buildings is not top of mind until the building is too hot or cold. The data that comes out of most energy systems is at the meter level. This is just data. Turning this data into information that people can understand and make decisions with is the challenge that our client was resolute to solve.
The Solution
We initially developed a framework of adapters that could integrate with popular energy systems and then designed a cloud base system that could store the metering data from adapters installed at the client. We then helped our client implement these adapters in their client's facilities.Once the cloud based system was in place we developed an API against this database that we used to design a dashboard system that clients could login to and view their data as information in the form of graphs, maps and visualizations.

Enterprise Mobile Web Applications
Profile
Dematic, an ISO 9001 certified company, is a global leader providing an impressive range of intelligent logistics and materials handling solutions. An international corporation that sells conveyor systems and other warehouse products that range from highly complex scanning systems to solutions for mom and pop shops.
Challenge
Many of Dematic's employees work in the field at their customer sites. These employees also have modern smartphone and tablet that are connected to the internet. When everyone has their own device and they want to use them, how do you deliver internal applications that could run across the breadth of all of these devices? Most of the internal enterprise systems don't run on these devices.
Solution
OST architected and built a mobile web app framework that Dematic uses to deliver key subsets of functionality from their internal business systems to employees in the field and on the go.We leveraged JQuery Mobile and web architecture to deliver an extensible app framework that delivers a native user experience.
Business Benefits
Dematic is starting to see significant productivity gains by embracing mobile delivery of enterprise application features. Users are able to get their work done and approve steps in key business workflows in real-time. This web app framework is leading to a more efficient business and workforce.

Web and Mobile Music Platform
OST helped Mashup.com plan and execute an innovative set of features that allowed users to visually publish, share, discover and interact with their music. We brought together a team of designers and developers to build functionality. We managed the entire process in collaboration with the Mashup.com leadership team.
This solution required OST to leverage cutting edge front-end HTML 5 and JavaScript techniques to deliver the user experience that the Mashup.com team envisioned. We also integrated deeply with the Facebook API and exposed the Mashup.com site as a Facebook App to allow people to use it within Facebook and show key events on their timelines.
During the entire life of this project we constantly assessed the architecture of Mashup's overall solution. We recommended and improved the overall architecture of the application to provide better scalability and developer productivity for future projects.
