They used ASP.Net, WCF, SQL Server, C#, EF, and Code-First for backend development. JS Angular 2 and KendoUI were used for the frontend. The project was a collaborative effort, and Open Solutions was working under an outstaffing model.

Their high-quality work encouraged us to enlarge the number of their developers for the main project. We’re also working with them on a separate website development project.

I am head of department of SST Group, a manufacturer of consumer heating systems, oil tanks, and oil tubes. We produce equipment, and also develop software applications for our clients.

What challenge were you trying to address with Open Solutions?

We needed to develop a cloud application that would work as a remote control for the consumer devices. It’s an Internet-of-Things solution which involves our consumer equipment connecting to the cloud server, logging statistics, and allowing users to control their thermostats through an application.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Open Solutions developed our application for iOS, Android, and web. We have a Django Python backend. We have a roadmap for developing the product and creating some integrations in the future, but there are none at the moment.

What is the team dynamic?

There were 2 people assigned to the project from our side, myself as the supervisor, and a project manager. Open Solutions assigned their CTO, a project manager, and a team lead. We used Skype calls and chat, email, and Redmine as a tracking system.

I had a positive experience previously with their team. In commercial terms, their offer was also acceptable.

The project cost has been around $50,000.

We started working with Open Solutions in November 2016, and have an ongoing collaboration.
