Novumlogic’s work was a huge success. They delivered exactly what we wanted, and their standard of work was second to none. Their product delivery had a very high standard, too. Having them on board helped us improve what we’d been trying to achieve with the product.

I’m the owner of a match-making platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with Novumlogic Technologies Pvt Ltd?

During the pandemic, matchmaking services went down. There were no personal meetings because of lockdowns, so I wanted to create a mobile application where users can see profiles and find a match.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Novumlogic Technologies Pvt Ltd designed and developed the mobile app for Android. They’re currently working on the iOS version.

There’s a login where users can then enter their personal details as well as a payment gateway because there’s a small subscription plan, which was their suggestion.

Once they pay the subscription fee, based on their preferences, users can select the profile they want based on their interests. That person will receive notification from the system that they were sent a request. If they’re interested, they can accept the request. Novumlogic Technologies Pvt Ltd included key functionality, ensuring users can chat in the app as well in real-time.

What is the team composition?

Initially, there was one person who handled my business requests and another person who did the analytics part. Later, they handed over everything to the tech head who I directly worked with.

Since creating the app, my business has worked really well. There are a good number of downloads. There’s an admin dashboard where I can see how many candidates are visiting the application.

The app has been very successful for me. It’s helped me survive during this COVID-19 period and build my business. They helped me a lot because I’m not a tech-savvy person.

They started with web development, and over time they’ve begun to excel with web application development. We’ve worked on a sales tracker app that we’re trying to promote in North America, as well as pitched project management and documentation services to a company looking for an Alexa solution for their trading platform. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Being a startup, I wouldn’t say that success is monetary — that isn’t totally what I am looking for. In the beginning, I wanted to get my operations up and working, and Novumlogic was pretty good.

The quality of the work is amazing. Even when I work with private marketing freelancers, I source the work through Novumlogic. The feedback I receive on their jobs is remarkable — there have been 3–4 instances where their turnaround time has been spot on.

How did Novumlogic Technologies Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

I have tried Slack, but it is too expensive for my startup at the moment, so our main communication method is email. We’ve also been using Jira since 2018.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are very flexible and reasonable. I work with a lot of small businesses, and it’s very tough for them to spend money on the things we ask them to spend money on, especially in the technology domain. Usually, my clients ask for costs to be reduced, and whenever I have to use development muscle, Novumlogic is very accommodating. It’s not that they never say no, but they’re reasonable.

For example, on my last project, the client needed a basic three-page website. He already had one on Wix but he wanted it to be on WordPress, and he requested it be done for around $600. Novumlogic asked if the client could spend $750 so that the talent would be happy, and they would be able to do the work. The client appreciated the response they gave, and they accepted it. Novumlogic is flexible enough to take this type of work, so I keep going to them.

They’re professional, especially when I am working with my Canadian clients, and they have experience working with US clients, UK clients, and Australian clients.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Novumlogic is expanding right now, and expansion is crucial for a startup; I want to see how they scale up and how they manage it. When you only have a few people, delivering quality is easy, but when you have multiple people, there is a bigger chance that things will go wrong.

I am the owner of a home renovation company based in Roselle, IL. I founded it in 2001. We provide new construction and renovation services. Services includes Storm Damage Restoration, Roofing, Siding, Gutters etc.

We are great at the services we provide and had great reviews for that also. But we were lacking in the response of the inquiries. We have registered ourselves in many sites like Yelp and got leads but ended up getting bad reviews for late or no response. I and my colleague were constantly communicating with their team. Total 4 of them were working on the project. We communicated through email.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since site and app is launched, we hardly got a bad review for late or no response and I believe that is all what wanted to achieve. We also got more leads from the Calculator idea and it reduced our work load also. Later on we have removed the calculator from the site as some of our clients expected more detailed quotations rather than only pricing.

It was seamless. We were constantly communicating through email. They also maintained MoM of our calls.

Problem understanding and well researched solution was impressed me a lot. Because of that we achieved what we wanted even with comparatively less communication.

Everything can always be done faster, but we were satisfied with their work and quality.

Our company name is Tennis Ball Cricket Association and we arrange 20 over cricket tournament on every Sunday for entertainment in local community.

I am one of the Director of the company. I am responsible for arranging the schedule of tournament, management of umpires, maintaining rules book and resolving any conflicts with the teams.

As we progress year by year, tournament it is getting bigger with 1lmost 15+ teams participating in one tournament. So there will be lot admin time I was spending for same thing.

Therefore we decided to digitalise the work with having mobile application for admin works such as tournament schedule, umpire allocation and adhoc update depends on their unavailability, updating team, points table and other statistics.

With the mobile application we were aiming to have reduced admin work from our end and also give more control to the individual captain of teams to update their team players and other details on their own.

Umpires can also update their availability for matches and therefore less time in communication with the teams with last minutes changes.

All the teams can view the point tables after their matches so they can know where other teams are standing without checking with individual teams or to check with myself.

We were looking on LinkedIn profile and recommendation from our players if they know anyone. There were 3 companies we finalised after we received recommendation from our multiple players. We contacted each of the company, to find out who can offer best to us.

Scope of project: Add/Update Players details, Add/Update Tournament scheduled , Add/Update Umpire details, Add/Update Ground details, Match results and Points table and other management/admin features

We discussed and explained scope to Novumlogic and they provided us with design ideas and also graphics. Application was developed for both iOS and Android devices.

We were assigned with project manager who was the only point of contact for us and updating with our status. However its was informed to us that 1 front end developer and two backend developer was involved in the development.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

With the application we are able to reduce our admin work significantly. All the teams are able to keep up with tournament progress. There is lot of reduction in communication between the teams and myself.

All the teams were very happy with the application and we got new teams in next our two tournaments because of transparency application brings into the tournament.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication between myself and the project manager was the highlight of the project and because of that we were able to get the application on time. Project manager was giving us regular update and also if there is any issues came up which required my immediate attention.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their communication, domain knowledge and their ability come on board from very first day. It was our first experience with any vendor and we are very happy with overall experience with them.

We had very smooth experience with them.

I am the co-founder and one of the managing partners of a sports turf manufacturing company based out of Vadodara, India.

Initially, we were assigned project manager and system architect. After that we were introduced to design and development team. Looking at the complexity and OS controlled features, 2 more sr developers added to finish tasks on time.

In 4 months both android and iOS app were done with version 1. We are working with them for version 2 also. Our users loved the app. It is so clear to users that even children are fine having app installed in their devices. It makes them feel secured without losing privacy.

Constant communication was going on while in development of version 1. We used jira to manage and track progress, confluence manage docs and slack for communication. My team and their team were part of several Slack channels to make it through seamlessly.

Our work started with identifying a good theme for our business as per the brand guidelines and key use cases that our usual customers will perform over our site. After choosing the final theme from 4 different options, they started with uploading inventory and built the catalog for our products.

As our user journey was already decided, it did not take much time for the team to install various plug-ins as per our needs. One of the main deliverables was the shorter page load time as our site had many products and high-quality images.

They work in a collaborative and iterative manner and think of our business as their own. The ownership approach brought more empathy to our feedback and brainstorming sessions. We used Slack for communication and video calls every Monday and Thursday.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team's agility and responsiveness to experiment and try new things was impressive. It was not like because we asked them to do x, they will just put their heads down and will implement. What made the difference was their consultative approach of sharing unbiased point of view.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I don't know if it would have been the right expectation to deliver quite early. The team on their side was also busy doing research which eventually helped us in the long term so I dont feel they should change that approach as that's something that makes them unique to work with.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The product they made is a SaaS web service. It was built in Java, HTML, and other languages. They built the site from scratch, and the design evolved as the process went along. There are nice interactive features with drag-and-drop, but it’s nothing groundbreaking from a technology point of view.

We gave them a model of what we wanted the site to look like, and they made the backend. They also have worked on the frontend as the months went on.

To get a minimally-functioning version of the product, numerous things needed to come together. The product isn’t usable until it’s completed, which is vastly different from most development jobs. They delivered on all the parts, so I’m reasonably happy with them.
