AQUA America
What does it mean to work for AQUA America? New Pace was hired by TAG Strategies to help pitch, produce, and execute a dynamic corporate film for their best client, AQUA America. The idea was to help assist in the core values roll out that was taking place in the workplace, through digital and print applications. They needed something that would engage their employees across the country, something that would make them feel like they were making a difference in their everyday work. We pitched a core values video. They LOVED it! This was no small task being that AQUA has locations in 8 states with 1600 employees that needed to be regionally represented. We spent months planning, producing and executing. With epic aerials, great voice-over, engaging hero shots, and great narration, we delivered.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the senior video marketing manager for VTech Electronics.
What challenge were you trying to address with New Pace Productions?
We needed to create approximately 78 demo videos for our products on Amazon. They needed to be compliant with Amazon and explain what the products do, so it was a fairly large project for us. The videos would also be posted on YouTube and some of our own internal pages, but the primary goal was to develop them for Amazon.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We originally presented the idea to New Pace Productions, and they gave us a counter-proposal with a way to get it all done within the budget and timeframe that we had.
We had some very direct specifications for New Pace Productions because of our time frame and the elements that needed to be in the video. We provided them with a specific creative and content base to work from.
The videos were both filmed and animated. They used originally developed photography with animated graphics to bring the imagery to life, and live-action video that they shot on stage. They completed the editing, animation, and graphics to come up with the finished product.
They provided all of the gear for the production process, everything that we needed for editing including personnel, and hardware for the post-production experience.
The 78 videos ranged between 30–90 seconds, but the average time for each video was around 60 seconds.
What is the team composition?
On a week-to-week basis, we worked with a project manager, an onstage director, a post-production supervisor, and a producer. There was other staff behind the scenes, but we never worked directly with them.
How did you come to work with New Pace Productions?
We were doing research to find a company that could handle the volume of what we needed. After some preliminary research, we found New Pace Productions and decided to send them an RFQ after looking at their website.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested almost $300,000 with New Pace Productions.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with them between February–July 2022.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We received positive feedback on the videos that New Pace Productions created for us. We also got really good press from our global partners about the quality of the videos. They successfully took the creative resources we gave them and were able to nicely emulate and enhance both the quality and creativity.
How did New Pace Productions perform from a project management standpoint?
They stayed on budget and on time for everything.
We used Smartsheet as the central document for tracking. We also used a production tool called Frame.io which allowed us to seamlessly share video and complete real-time editing and feedback. We used SharePoint to deliver the final products.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were extremely flexible and responsive to all of our needs, particularly in the post-production phase. We are a large company, and there were a lot of people that needed to give approval which meant there was a lot of feedback. Every time we gave them anything, they quickly fixed it.
If there was a change that needed to happen, within the next day it would be solved and they would have it prepared on Frame.io so that we could look at it. We were dealing with a large volume of videos in a short period of time, and their responsiveness and flexibility meant everything to us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We spent some time at the beginning of the project trying to narrow down the project management tool we were going to use. If that would have been nailed down sooner, we could have had a few things done a little faster.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be organized in the way that you approach the project. Know what you are looking for and have guidelines, especially if your brand is very important to the project. Come into the project with as much specificity and organization as you can.

Video Production for Engineering Firm
“They offer close communication and relationships with their clients while delivering blockbuster quality work.”

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work for Pennoni Associates, a company in the top 100 engineering firms of the country. I’m the marketing manager within the company, so I run our marketing team.
What challenge were you trying to address with New Pace Productions?
We needed help with video production.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I’ve worked with New Pace very closely, overseeing the two big video production projects we’ve been doing together since last year. In general terms, they initially set up the projects, defining the scope, the resources needed, and the timeline. Then, they explain how the projects will go and help us with the creative and storyboarding. Finally, they’re in charge of the production, editing, and postproduction of videos.
However, both projects have been very different from each other. We worked with a third-party creative on one of them, so that aspect wasn’t so much part of New Pace’s scope, but they helped with creative support and provided ideas.
We needed a voiceover artist for one project, and New Pace sourced that individual in their Rolodex of talent. We only sent the script to them, and they were in charge of the rest.
We’ve already launched one of the videos, but we’re still finishing the other. We use the videos to highlight our important bridge projects, so we have a whole campaign around these videos and a landing page. We also use them on social media, send them to influencers to get them featured, use them to try to win project awards, and submit them to conferences to talk about bridge construction innovations.
What is the team composition?
We have a relationship with both JC and Bill (Co-Founders), one of which is very involved in the project. We also work with Shawn (Production Manager) and Colin (Producer), who helps get the projects set up. During filming, their team also includes a sound engineer and a production assistant — we always feel like we’re on a Hollywood set. We’ve even worked with a drone pilot for one of our projects, so they have a deep pool of talent.
How did you come to work with New Pace Productions?
My director knows one of New Pace's co-founders, so we’ve known them for years. Last year, we decided to get more serious about video production, and we brought them to the table.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since August 2021. Although the second video is almost completed, we have three more ideas for them to work on, so our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve received great comments on the video we’ve already launched. People think that it is very well done, as well as very inspiring and creative. It is currently featured on the Washington, DC Department of Transportation’s website.
How did New Pace Productions perform from a project management standpoint?
New Pace’s project management has been very good. If we’re getting close to our estimated budget or timeline, they warn me so that we don’t go over unless I authorize; they’re very communicative and transparent.
Overall, they’re a very experienced team that has been around for about 15 years. This experience is really noticeable in how they communicate and provide guidance; their approach to projects is very systematic and professional.
Speaking about communication, New Pace is available all the time. I’ve called them Saturday mornings or late at night, and they’re always very responsive. We communicate via email and phone calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Something unique about New Pace is that they’re a small, almost family-oriented business, but they work with very important brands and universities. Thus, they offer close communication and relationships with their clients while delivering blockbuster quality work, a combination very rare to find today. I don’t know how they do it, but they’re great at both aspects.
Additionally, New Pace has an impressive ability to source the talent we need. They’re very nimble and flexible, and they can even source people last minute. As an engineering firm, we need to film our construction projects. To do so, we’ve had to shoot repeatedly for several days, even making last-minute and night-time shots. Still, they’ve been able to respond to our needs, having their team ready to shoot at any time.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We’re constantly trying to improve and strengthen our working relationship, but we don’t have any complaints about their work.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Trust them and their process. They’re a very experienced team that provides great ideas, so let them do what they do best.

Recruitment Video Production for Drug Development Company
“They’ve been transparent about timelines, budgets, and expectations.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the marketing director for a company that improves the drug discovery and development process through biosimulation and technology.
What challenge were you trying to address with New Pace Productions?
We hired New Pace for their video production services. We were looking to produce a recruitment video to hone in on new candidates.
What was the scope of their involvement?
New Pace has produced a recruitment video that showcases the company and topics like why employees choose us, how they know about us, and why they stay with us. In addition to the recruitment video, we’ve also created videos of people talking about different topics such as pediatrics, drug development, clinical trials of cell and gene therapy, and other similar subjects.
To produce the video, I’ve given New Pace some ideas on what we want. They’ve also shown us examples of what they’ve done in the past. We’ve initially wanted some b-roll footage, but after looking at what we want to create, they’ve pulled all the best pieces of footage and put together a strong story for us.
On top of that, we’ve also had an hour of b-roll footage at an offsite happy-hour event that has served as a team-building activity for us. We’ve also incorporated this in the recruitment video. Beyond that, they’ve also developed a video for our CEO. Through all of these, New Pace has provided the equipment we need.
At present, we’re working on a second video shoot at a different location. The video will be for a different division of our company since the first one didn’t cover other divisions. Meanwhile, we’re using the recruitment video on our external channels, such as social media, careers pages, and on our website. Our HR is also using it for onboarding purposes; they also send it to potential candidates.
What is the team composition?
We work with around six people on site. I work closely with Colin (Producer) and Colleen (Associate Producer) — they’ve served as the project managers. We also work with an account manager, but all the questions we’ve had are for the producers.
How did you come to work with New Pace Productions?
I did an online search for video editors within a specific area near our new office. I found New Pace’s website and liked what I saw. Then, I contacted them to start the initial conversations about their availability and time.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $20,000–$25,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in July 2021, and the recruitment video was delivered around August 2021. However, our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We don’t have any specific quantitative metrics, but we’re a company of around 1,000 people, and the feedback we’ve received for the video has been extremely positive. Our members are excited about it, and many of our stakeholders and C-suite members are truly impressed — they love the video. On top of that, we’ve acquired 17 interviews because of the video.
Overall, this has been a great accomplishment for the company. The video has been professionally done, and it has left us with a good feeling after watching it. That’s what we’ve been going for, and New Pace has knocked it out of the park. The production process has also been clean and efficient. They’re also highly respectful of our team’s environment. Working with them has been wonderful.
How did New Pace Productions perform from a project management standpoint?
The team’s creative process is good. They’ve guided us through the process from start to finish while considering our expectations. Colin has been great at making sure the project is where it needs to be. There are no surprises, and Colin has been phenomenal in helping us get everything together. Moreover, the way we operate requires many last-minute changes and add-ons, but the New Pace team is super agile. Because of that, we’ve accomplished an amazing video and great footage that we can use for additional videos down the line.
Moreover, New Pace has done well in terms of budget and expectations. They’ve stuck with what we’re trying to achieve. I also appreciate that they’ve given me a heads up around my expectations, explaining the reason why the results might not be what we expect. In other words, they’ve been transparent about timelines, budgets, and expectations. In terms of tools, we use emails, phone conferences, and Zoom.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What they do exceptionally well is understanding our objectives. The team has honed in on our requirements, and the producers are on top of everything. New Pace also has a great crew. Overall, their attention to detail has been great. Their creativity has also improved everything.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They can participate more in the creative process. I’ve given them some ideas of what I like, but if I’ve worked directly with their creative people, we could’ve had better communication.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Come to the table with ideas and examples of what you want. If you give New Pace more details, they’ll execute your ideas in a much better way. They’ll get closer to the product and accomplish what you want them to do.

Senior Marketing Specialist at Fox Chase Cancer Center
For what projects/services did your company hire New Pace Productions?
We worked with New Pace on three projects - all animated explainer videos. This type of video was a new venture for us as a content team, but we're very happy with how the videos turned out.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal was to present information in an approachable way - explaining a topic in depth through an animated video. Specifically, we worked with New Pace on videos about CAR T-Cell therapy, what happens during a colonoscopy, and a video about how to take opioids safely.
How did you select this vendor?
New Pace reached out to us. We reviewed their past work and set up a discovery meeting. We were impressed and began the work of contracting with them.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
We wrote the scripts and corresponding storyboard for the videos, and New Pace brought them to life. This involved hiring a voice-over actor/actress, a graphic designer, and an animator.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
New Pace was very patient with us as we worked out a workflow and were more than willing to work with us through the many setbacks we encountered.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We were very happy with the videos delivered by New Pace. The mark of success, we think, is how well the videos are doing, in terms of engagement.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I own and run a marketing communications agency, Sage, that supports our clients in branding, marketing and sales support initiatives.
For what projects/services did your company hire New Pace Productions?
Our client, a large telecommunications company, was opening its third and largest Executive Briefing Center in its new building in Philadelphia. Sage was asked to do a video and photo shoot of the new space for use in marketing efforts and in social media. We brought in New Pace to help.
What were your goals for this project?
We had three specific goals:
- produce an educational video for internal teams
- produce a marketing "hype" video for customers/prospects and
- secure photos to use in brochures, on website and in social -- all in just ONE DAY.
How did you select this vendor?
We had worked with New Pace on another project for the large telecommunications company -- creating product videos for sales -- and were very impressed with their professionalism, creativity and most importantly, their ability to make Sage look good with our clients!
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
This project was the most highly visible project that Sage had in the 10 years we'd been working with the telecom company and we had one day of shooting to pull it off. We started with on-site visits with the team and planning meetings with the stakeholders to clearly define what we wanted to shoot and how we could accommodate 20+ actors/volunteers, props, photographers, video crews, etc.
The Day Of was a whirlwind of set-up, make-up, shoot video, shoot photos, wrap-up in a carefully orchestrated dance within the five rooms/areas of the Executive Briefing Center. But of course, it didn't end there. New Pace then went to work putting together the outstanding results of this day of shooting into gorgeous photography and two well-received videos.
What was the team composition?
Our core New Pace team consisted of three key players that ensured everything was under control. Their professionalism and work ethic was incredible. The team we worked with on the Day Of the Shoot reached 30 people -- including photographers, video crew, props and make-up.
Everyone knew their role and executed it beautifully during a very hectic day. When challenges arose -- like the freight elevator not being operational at the beginning of the day! -- the New Pace team kicked into high gear and figured out a workaround.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Since this shoot, Sage has now been called in to do other video work at the telecommunications company as they now think of this as one of our core competencies. The launch materials we produced for the Executive Briefing Center were highly regarded and won the praise of the client at the highest levels.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Our teams worked hand-in-hand and functioned as one on this project.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
New Pace doesn't let anything throw them! We had so many challenges with this project that any one of them could have deterred a less-experienced team. They were truly great to work with and Sage could not have done this without them. An exciting and fruitful partnership has been born.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Not really - they went above and beyond my expectations on this project as well as subsequent ones we've done with them. I highly recommend New Pace. Professional, responsive, rock-solid and fun to work with.

Please describe your company and your position there.
Chief Creative Officer at an ad agency, Elevate, in the Philadelphia area. We work primarily in the healthcare space, most often with brand that communicate to the professional and patient audiences.
For what projects/services did your company hire New Pace Productions?
We have been working with NewPace on an on going basis since 2018 on multiple smaller video and animation projects, and this was a major video initiative for one of our largest clients, a global medical device company. It was a video that would be show to the very top echelon of global leadership of all of our client’s companies at their annual innovation conference.
What were your goals for this project?
The overarching goal of the project was to showcase the medical device innovations being commercialized right now--essentially demonstrating that the future of medicine, robotic surgery, and medical devices is on right now from our client.
How did you select this vendor?
How did you select this vendor?
Like most agencies, having stretched beyond out internal capabilities to provide video series to our clients, we had a need for ongoing video partner for multiple projects, everything from training videos to trade show videos to patient videos to web content.
We were extremely impressed by the breadth of the services and the experience New Pace offered to us, and we were moved by their work on a Scleroderma documentary series they had produced themselves and then obtained grants for ongoing episodes. After an initial search of video houses in the Philadelphia Region, we selected NewPace for a number of small video and animation projects. Those went so well, we awarded them this very important job for our highest profile client, and they hit it out of the park.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
The video was a 3 minute show being unveiled at our client’s global leadership innovation conference, then it would be used in a variety of places and platforms to showcase our client’s innovative treatments and devices.
We began with a script in August of 2018, storyboarded and gained client approval to produce the video in January of 2019. Being high profile project for a pharmaceutical company, there were multiple rounds of review and approvals, until the finished video debuted in May 2019 at the conference. Iterative edits are now being used in a variety of places, both internally and to our client’s external audiences.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
NewPace was involved with all aspects of the production, and they were involved and sharing feedback all through the process, and trust me, for a large global pharma company, that process can get deeply detailed and repeatedly iterative as the video made the rounds of management approval, all the way to the top.
NewPace patiently worked through it all with us, from storyboard to completion, keeping our team eye on the ball as far as maintaining the high production values, managing the voice over talent selection and production, creating visual, art and graphic style enhancements.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our agency received top honors for video at the conference, and the cued from virtually all of our client’s top leadership. On a very practical, measurable level, the project's excellence and high visibility has resulted in increased awareness of our video concepting, scripting and production chops, leading to an additional 50-100K more in video projects for the remainder of 2019.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Seemless. NewPace assigned a talented senior associate who is their creative director and overall project director, so both visual and logistical details were handled with ease and professionalism, communication was transparent and efficient, and we had access to their entire team and facility as we needed.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The work is outstanding but perhaps more impressive was their ability to collaborate, and their in-depth understanding of what it takes to work with an agency and with a high powered pharma client.
Are there any areas for improvement?
As we work more into the future as partners, we view NewPace has our go-to video partner, and we look forward to honing our process together to make future videos of this magnitude an even smoother.

I’m the president of TGI, a full-service marketing operations company. We offer backend production for tradeshow graphics and make collateral like brochures for companies. Much of our work is online; we build portals for customers to order marketing materials on demand from their field or sales reps.
What challenge were you trying to address with New Pace Productions?
When two of our large clients requested videos, I knew I needed help. I reached out to New Pace Productions to support us on those video projects. We also needed resources to redo our website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
New Pace Productions helped us produce videos for two high-profile corporations from the camera and printer sectors. For our company’s use, they also helped us create about seven different videos to market our services. They did all the scripting and storyboarding and used drones to capture footage. They initially used Final Cut Pro to edit and later switched to Adobe Premiere. On occasion, they’ve incorporated After Effects.
As we revamped our website, New Pace Productions was involved in everything from design through development. They controlled everything from start to finish. We’re currently in the middle of working on a massive project together for the higher education Hall of Fame series.
What is the team composition?
Four people from New Pace Productions worked on our website. For the other projects, we used a combination of their resources and our in-house teammates.
How did you come to work with New Pace Productions?
I met JC (Co-Founder, New Pace Productions) through a friend. Even though I regularly produce videos, I knew I could benefit from additional technology and expertise. I wanted our website to be video-centric, so I chose their experienced team. They’re highly skilled at video production.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $50,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since March 2014.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We showed the videos New Pace Productions created in front of 700 people, and the audience raved about them. Our business has been growing since then. We know our engagement is working, but I can’t provide specific statistics.
How did New Pace Productions perform from a project management standpoint?
New Pace Productions is clever, fun, and easy to work with. They always deliver on time and will negotiate the price with you if necessary.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Working with New Pace Productions is a pleasure. They’re very responsible. I know I can give them a project and trust them to come up with great ideas and produce results.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No. New Pace Productions is a growing company, and they’re doing a great job.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I would refer New Pace Productions to future clients. Customers will see for themselves. They haven’t made any mistakes in our work as of yet. Keep an open dialogue because they’re very easy to communicate with. Let them be your partner.
The client has received positive external feedback on the videos New Pace Productions created. They were responsive and flexible, and they provided quick turnaround time for any feedback or changes that needed to be made. They completed the project on time and within budget.
