Custom Polling App Dev for Cybersecurity Solutions Company
“NCoreSoft understands our requirements well; that’s one of their main strengths.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a solutions architect for a company that provides custom cybersecurity solutions to customers.
What challenge were you trying to address with NCoreSoft?
We engaged NCoreSoft to help us develop solutions for our clients. I previously had another team of developers, but they somehow messed up my projects. From there, we hired NCoreSoft to take over.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We currently work with NCoreSoft on developing a polling app. This app is for companies engaged in annual general meetings. It gives them a way to engage customers online and offline and see whether resolutions have been passed or not.
What is the team composition?
I work with one senior developer and a project manager.
How did you come to work with NCoreSoft?
We were using the ASP.NET framework, and ASP.NET provided recommendations for developers. NCoreSoft happened to be one of those recommendations. They also happened to be one of my LinkedIn contacts. From there, I talked to their leader, who seemed to be quite knowledgeable of the whole framework and process. As a result, we decided to engage them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested around $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our partnership started in July 2021. The first phase was completed in August 2021, but our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
To measure success, we have four sets of test cases. We focus on positive results, and then we continue working on the project. We also measure success based on the amount of work they can fulfill within a certain period of time.
How did NCoreSoft perform from a project management standpoint?
Around 80%–90% of the time, they’re able to meet their target. On the other hand, there are some instances where they misunderstand requirements. We use Jira forms to assign tasks and measure the task composition itself.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their project manager — who is also their boss — is highly knowledgeable. He understands most of our requirements pretty well. I’ve worked with a couple of development teams before, and most of the time, their project managers don’t understand the concept of what we want to do. Because of that, we can’t build the correct solution that we need.
By contrast, NCoreSoft understands our requirements well; that’s one of their main strengths.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Our teams can further improve the communication between us and their developers. Sometimes, the developers’ communication skills need improvement, especially if we talk to them directly.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be more familiar with your requirements. If you have clear goals, NCoreSoft can build your product fast. If the scope of work is unclear, there will be a lot of complications in the process.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CEO of a Media company in Silicon Valley USA and we work with several companies remotely. I was the one who chose NcoreSoft and was the technical liason during our project.
For what projects/services did your company hire NCoreSoft, and what were your goals?
NCoreSoft was hired to create a multi-tenant SaaS portal for our mobile media services. This web portal needs to enable individual signin's for approx 2,000 businesses so they can access and edit our mobile media services.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Our internal team decided to base our framework on "ASP.Net Zero" We found NCoreSoft as a vendor that had worked with this framework before. After initial discussions it become obvious that they were very professional.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
NCoreSoft started with an empty server. They installed the ASP.Net Zero framework and the SQL database, and added then added security features, a backup system, and created the domain name forwarding structure. Communications with our team during this process went well. NCoreSoft then trained us on the capabilities of the ASP.NET ZERO architecture so we could all verify that our next technology choices were correct.
The multi-tenant roles and permissions were then defined and implemented. We are now working on the first set of mobile media services which require API connectivity with existing products, and we are happy with our progress. Technologies used so far are: APS.NET Core, jQuery, Angular, ASP.NET Zero, MS SQL, SSL, Active DIrectory, 2 Factor Authentication, HTML/REST APIs, oAuth, GraphQL, Bootstrap, Azure, AWS, Swagger, Paypal, Stripe, and more.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I was working together with Shalin Jiriwala who was a Senior Team Manager at NCoreSoft. I was impressed with his technical knowledge, as well as his management and communications skills. I was aware of other team members, but all communications was handled by Shalin which worked fine for us.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The website framework was fully installed. The extra features that were needed are fully functional. Our "company specific" tenant roles and permissions logic has been implemented. API communications with our existing products is now live. We are happy with this progress and are at the stage where some of our mobile media services near completion.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We were using Skype and Zoom for text and face-to-face meetings. Shalin's english is excellent. There were times where we had 3rd party vendors added to our meeting and these interactions were very professional and all project questions & issues were resolved. NCoreSoft feedback helped another of our vendors to improve their product API to be more flexible and secure.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They were very patient with our internal team as we learned some of the technologies being used. There were critical architecture decisions that we needed to make but we didn't understand the trade-offs. NCoreSOft educated us regarding these options. Also, they delivered everything we requested.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I don't have any suggestions. We are happy with our relationship and we will continue to work with them as much as possible.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of an organization that builds custom software solutions, especially for the oil and gas industry.
What challenge were you trying to address with NCoreSoft?
My developers were struggling to work with a particular framework for a resource management software, so we engaged NCoreSoft for their expertise.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The resource management software would help my clients manage their resources more efficiently by scheduling tasks, monitoring what they were doing, collecting data, and invoicing related work. We were struggling with an ASP.NET Zero framework, so we brought in NCoreSoft. They worked mostly with the calendar module and some framework related issues. They used ASP.NET, .NET Core2.1 for the API side and Angular for the client UI.
What is the team composition?
We had one full-time resource and one part-time resource.
How did you come to work with NCoreSoft?
I found them on GitHub. They were familiar with the framework, and we started talking about the project. It really worked out well.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project lasted from May 2019–January 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
When NCoreSoft came in, it was clear that they had extensive knowledge and expertise. They were able to point out what we were doing wrong and what we could do more efficiently, especially in the customized aspects of the projects. As they took over, they were able to complete the project in half the time it was taking my developers.
How did NCoreSoft perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve been doing this for a long time. We have meetings or conference calls and we go over what was done, what items we have left, and assign the tasks that are left.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s hard to narrow it down. Overall, the project was great. They’re very good.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Resources didn’t communicate when they were taking time off very well. Sometimes, we only had a day’s notice and it delayed certain tasks.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I would definitely recommend NCoreSoft.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the managing member of a multi-location restaurant.
What challenge were you trying to address with NCoreSoft?
We were looking to come up with a solution that would address the pain points we were experiencing in the kitchen.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Starting with some wireframes that I provided, they built an app for us. It’s a progressive web app (PWA) that has user authentication, so it’s scalable. It can be expanded to include new users. I believe they used React, among other technologies.
What is the team composition?
We worked with two programmers.
How did you come to work with NCoreSoft?
I found them through Reddit, and although I didn’t see much of them online, I saw their reviews on Clutch. I then talked to Shalin (Founder, CEO, & Scrum Master, NCoreSoft), and decided that he seemed competent and knowledgeable. He was great at communicating and answered all of my questions in a way that I would understand.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent somewhere between $5,000–$10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
I began working with them in November of 2019, and the app—essentially an MVP—is now finished.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The app is excellent. It works exactly as I imagined it would work.
How did NCoreSoft perform from a project management standpoint?
We used Skype, email, and Zoom to communicate.
What did you find most impressive about them?
One thing that I really liked about working with Shalin and his team was that they were extremely responsive and excelled at meeting deadlines. If I asked for something by a particular day, they were excellent at communicating expectations and requirements.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Not really. We did have to slightly push the final deadline, but that was mostly because I was on vacation for a couple of weeks. Everything else was really great.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be extremely detailed when you begin, and know exactly what features you’re looking for.

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the managing director at an IT consulting and development company.
What challenge were you trying to address with NCoreSoft?
We are building a software-as-a-service platform for startup companies to manage their business model and plan. We needed a programmer to assist in developing the framework.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Because of how large the project is, I worked with two different companies to complete it. NCoreSoft was involved in building the actual software. I showed Shalin Jirawla [Founder and CEO, NCoreSoft] examples of similar sites to give him an understanding of my requirements. He then spent two or three days building a prototype. From there, we worked continuously and closely to develop that.
We built our framework using Microsoft’s Service Fabric as a microservice platform. Shalin focused primarily on integrating KPI analytics and business planning tools, such QuickBooks and Xero. He worked on live dashboards, developing a solution that would allow users to drag all of their finances to the dashboard and monitor them there. He also worked on the customer relationship management part of our platform.
What is the team dynamic?
I only worked with Shalin. If he was busy building a new feature, I might not speak to him for two to three days to allow him to complete his deliverable, but generally, we spoke daily.
How did you come to work with NCoreSoft?
I found them on UpWork. Before deciding on them, I went through around 46 companies, but they were all horrible. NCoreSoft distinguished themselves because they were able to work with microservices that most people didn’t have experience with.
How much have you invested with them?
$11 an hour, which amounted to a total of $40,000 for the entirety of our partnership.
What is the status of this engagement?
I worked with Shalin for 18 months. Though the project isn't complete, all of his work for it is, though might contact him soon to do a few smaller projects for me. I also have more projects coming up in the new year, so I’ll be re-engaging him for those.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Shalin would methodically test everything he intended to deliver to me, so if there were any defects, he would find them before I would. He never delivered anything that was full of bugs.
How did NCoreSoft perform from a project management standpoint?
I’ve dealt with many companies that would require you to explain what you expect multiple times, which would drag the process out longer than necessary. Shilan never required me to explain my needs more than once, and he worked quickly to implement any changes I wanted to make within the software. I threw a lot of challenges his way and he adapted quickly.
He also built software in a very timely manner. For example, he built the first version of the platform’s document within two weeks. He built the first version CRM in about five days. In most cases, he could produce something functional within 24 hours.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Shalin operates NCoreSoft with more of an entrepreneurial mindset than other companies. When I asked him to develop a CRM system with certain features, he recommended additional features that would contribute to a better user experience. His design skills extended beyond the basics — he knows how to implement modern design in innovative ways.
He’s also a very good communicator and is always willing to engage on the phone when necessary.
Are there any areas they could improve?
My only suggestion for improvement would be one for all developers: be willing to learn new technology. Many are unwilling to learn unless you pay them, but Shalin is very self-driven and always willing to learn.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I’ve lost two major projects with stakeholders in the past because of inadequate developers. Even with a great company like NCoreSoft, you need to remain very hands-on to ensure they’re producing quality work on schedule.
Another piece of advice I’d offer is to not be intimidated if your background isn’t in tech. Shalin will work well with you regardless of your tech knowledge.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the owner of a healthcare consulting company.
For what projects/services did your company hire NCoreSoft, and what were your goals?
We are developing an online marketplace of healthcare services that bundles together providers for different procedures. We had retained another developer and he was only able to take the project so far before we needed someone else to take the project to the next level.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We searched online through Upwork and we were fortunate enough to find Shalin. Shalin's ability to do both development in Blazor and design work were the deciding factors.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Our app uses Blazor and we were in the middle of refactoring to a more scalable architecture when we brought on Shalin. Because of Shalin's design expertise, we were able to use him in more than just the refactoring effort.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
1 full stack developer (Shalin)
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We are still in development stage, but have been very happy with the work done by Shalin. The thing that I appreciate about Shalin is that he is more than just an order taker. If I suggested something that wasn't the best path for the project, he would make other suggestions. If there was something that Shalin did not know how to do, he would do his research and make it happen. Shalin is a problem solver!
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We mostly used messaging to communicate and a worklist was maintained through Google Sheets.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I've worked with many different developers over the years and Shalin is only the second developer that I have worked with that I felt understood 1. the business objective, 2. the user experience needed to meet the business objective, and 3. the ability to efficiently and rapidly code based upon 1&2.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

What were your goals for this project?
