A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a project manager of Queens of Money, a financial literacy program that pushes the educational side of what it takes to build wealth. We promote the tools and knowledge that has been acquired by our founder, who’s been educated at the Harvard Kennedy School and INSEAD Business School, a very well-known business school in Europe.
We started with a seminar online and spoke about how people can begin building their wealth. We put a strong focus on the women in the Mediterranean because there’s a massive pay and pension gap there, so we’re trying to help them bridge those gaps with some knowledge on financial matters.
What challenge were you trying to address with Mojo Digital?
Queens of Money was launched during the quarantine in 2020, so we needed to take our business online. I’ve heard of Mojo Digital so I asked them to help develop a website that we can continuously build down the line, and can also host blogs and tools from Excel.
We also wanted to provide our guests with links to our webinars through the website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Mojo Digital developed our website from scratch. We provided them with some photos, as well as content that we wanted to put on the website, but other than that, they completely managed the back- and frontend development.
They helped us set up a backend that we can access, which enables us to upload blogs by ourselves, and also manage a user database that’s completely compliant with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). This lets us send monthly newsletters and links to webinars to all our users.
Some of the features we requested include having the ability to upload tools and blogs to keep the content simple, yet fresh. We don’t want a lot of noise on the page, but we want to be able to attract attention to a certain part of the content, and add on to it.
Hopefully, by the start of 2022, we would be able to upload videos — we won’t upload videos now, but we want a function that would allow that later on.
What is the team composition?
We worked with a backend developer, a frontend developer, and the founder.
How did you come to work with Mojo Digital?
Cyprus is a very small community. Everyone knows everyone, and having worked in several digital agencies and being aware of how they work, I put 100% of my trust into Mojo Digital. Even when they didn’t know how to do something, they still figured out a way to do exactly what we wanted.
How much have you invested with them?
The initial cost of the first website was €2,000 EUR (approximately $2,300 USD), but we had some running and maintenance costs which amounted to around €2,700–€3,000 EUR (approximately $3,100–$3,500 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
The partnership started in August 2020. We had two versions of the website, with the second version being finalized in June 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
One of the most impressive things I know they’re proud of, is the ridiculously fast loading times of the pages and links on the website.
How did Mojo Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
They performed excellently, and they were very prompt and fast in their replies. There were a couple of miscommunications during the project, simply because my team didn’t really understand any development lingo, but they were very quick to clear them out. They were also responsive, they worked hard on our project, and they were very understanding when we had some delays on our part.
To communicate, we mostly used email, Telegram, and we also had video calls with the whole team on board.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We were impressed with the fact that they understood what their client tells them, in the sense that if they wanted something done a certain way, they deliver earlier than expected so they can get feedback. They dedicate the time to perfect what the client wants, and they’re very easy to talk to.
Are there any areas they could improve?
From my perspective, they like to work on a scrum basis, so they prefer to deliver everything in two-week sprints. However, they could take a little bit more time for each project and pace themselves.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Don’t be afraid to communicate whatever you want with them, but make sure you have everything that you want to say in whatever form you’re communicating with. They have other clients and other projects, so it’s suboptimal for them to keep going back and forth all day — whatever you want to say, I suggest you say it in one go.
The internal stakeholders were very impressed with Mojo Digital's performance when it came to managing the project, particularly with how they optimized the website to run efficiently. The team was receptive to client concerns and instinctually anticipated and delivered their requirements with ease.
