For what projects/services did your company hire Mobilist?
As we provide software solution to healthcare industry and working with more than 1000 clients, our platform needs to be up and running 7/24 without any service interrupts. Also the data that we manage on this platform is very critical since it includes both personal information and health history of the our clients patients, the security is one of the most important aspects of our systems with uptime guarantee.
We worked with Mobilist to set up and manage our infrastructure on AWS to both reduce our server costs and provide security with uptime.
How did you select Mobilist and what were the deciding factors?
I already knew the co-founders from market since they attended as a keynote speaker on some important events of industry. While we were in need of this transformation, we got an offer from 3 different companies including Mobilist.
Their offer was not the lowest one but their approach on the project and also their proposal document demonstrated us that their analyze capabilities of our needs are much better than others.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
They started with inspecting our current metrics and requested our business plans to calculate requirement on technical sources depending on our growth plan. After they they created a POC with some AWS services to show us how some bottle-necks can be solved with cloud infrastructure, such as moving some background tasks to Amazon Lamda and some conventional databases to AWS Managed Databases.
After successful POC, we decided to make partial migration. Since our database infrastructure is Multi-Tenant Architecture, it was easy for us to migrate some of our clients as a Beta program. In this process we were expecting more problems than we faced, however this process went very smooth and painless that none of our Beta program clients had any major issues. In addition to this, now we work with Mobilist to implement Amazon Chime on our new Telehealth product.

2 Senior and 1 Architect.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
There are 3 different outcomes on this migration project. Budget, Security and Uptime. I can state that Budget is not much more than our previous server cost however, as about same budget we know have more reliable and secure infrastructure.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Just give them your project and see how they stick with it, you can not tell the difference between if they are your employee or outsource.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their work includes fastness, a responsive approach, and professionalism on the large enterprise's progress.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The service we bought from them is AWS and AWS Consulting, since we located in Turkey and our budgets are prepared in Turkish Lira, however high fluctuation rate of USD/TRY creates some risks on this kind of projects. As a reseller they might not have an option to offer prices in TRY but we would love it if it would have happen.

Mobilist created our mobile app for Android and iOS. They built a marketplace that connected beauty professionals and women. The former could provide at-home beauty services, while the latter could receive service whenever and wherever they wanted. We wanted to make a functional app that would be easy to use for both 20-year-old and 60-year-old users.

How did Mobilist perform from a project management standpoint?
Mobilist’s project management was exceptional. We used sprint methodologies, and they provided outstanding services. Their communication was excellent, and the technical capabilities of their team were outstanding. Although we faced some challenges, I could say I had been happy working with Mobilist.
We used Trello to collaborate, but whenever we encountered any problems, I could always call one of their developers.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Mobilist’s agile approach and technical expertise were impressive. I also liked that their team wasn’t too big or too small.

For what projects/services did your company hire Mobilist, and what were your goals?
Philip Morris International (PMI) is a company subjecting to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) legislation. To this end, formalized internal control structure must be established towards achieving measurable and sustainable financial reporting over internal controls environment. In order to do so, controls are defined and assigned to business process owners.
The challenge we had experienced was that no ownership awareness could be established and therefore timely and appropriately control execution had not been performed across the board. This lack of formalized structure was leading to control deficiencies and compromised company's disclosure to SEC (Security Exchange Commission).
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
PMI has certain vendor selection process upon which bidding and RFP (request for proposal) is required and hence formal vendor selection process was followed to make the best possible decision on the vendor to work with. Per our procurement selection cycle, we asserted that Mobilist not only had quoted the best price but also digested our challenge and provided us with a roadmap in order for us to have the best possible solution.

As described above, our challenge was to create an environment through leveraging evolving technology where we could hold control owners accountable for the controls they are responsible for, and have control owners execute the controls in a timely manner and appropriately as well as monitor the status of control execution. In this regard, Mobilist developed PMIcons tool based on php by which we were able to assign every single controls to the relevant control owners.
Moreover, the tool has state of art features like reminding control owners in case of an overlook which has eliminated management effort towards notifying control owners with regards to pass due controls. Amongst numerous useful features, the tool also has provided us with data analytics features which enables us to pull together management reports with no additional manual effort needed.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
There were 3 people in the core team. What we most liked is that co-founder of the company - Ekin – was one of the members of the core team and he has acted as project manager and stepped in to the project every time needed. By this way, we had seamless project experience.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Compared to what we had or what we didn't have before this project, we have reduced our control deficiencies by 80% following the implementation of the project in 6 months. We believe that with the tool being as much user friendly as possible has underpinned this accomplishment.

Co-founder of Mobilist - Ekin acted as project manager and due to the fact that, I believe, he has also been considering the sake of his company, he did his best in terms of communication and project deliverables. For tools, they were using Jira within Mobilist. We wanted a broader monitoring and they set up Trello for us to track the project.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The most impressive thing about Mobilist was that they really learned our processes and the way we do business. This wasn’t necessary to develop the software. However, this is why we achieved a seamless digital tool at the end of the day. I think this is the best part of working with a digital solution partner rather than just a software development company.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I don’t think there isn’t any area for improvement. They delivered what they proposed, on time. Back then, we just started the transformation for Agile Practices, so we decided not to get involved in their sprints. They might have encouraged us more to get involved.

We hired Mobilist to take over development of the post MVP version of our app.
By providing their CTO and iOS development expertise our goal was to create a market ready version of our app using up to date designs, best practices and prove an overall better experience than our MVP version as well as bringing online the monetization system of our platform.

We selected Mobilist due to their wide expertise in the realm of mobile app development, excellent previous work and high level of professionalism during our initial introduction. Providing a competitive price, clear communication and thorough understanding of our goals.

After a series of discovery meetings we where we laid out all of our goals and our budget we refined our goals to key deliverables being the overhaul of the apps performance, UI, addition of monetization system, content sorting algorithm and other key features.
It was also decided to continue using firebase for our backend. In this phase a code review and project manager was selected to be the main POC.
After the initial laying out of the project scope Mobilist immediately began setting up lines of communication between our team and theirs as theirs before beginning to develop the app in agile sprints. After sprints were finished our team performed bug testing until the builds were in acceptable state before moving to the next.

A project manager was assigned to our team who was the main POC and delegator of tasks to their team working on various differnt aspects of our project from backend, UI, front end. Team members numbered 4 with some replacements and additions over time as focuses shifted to other areas of expertise.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Overall we received a professional and stable version of the app which we are now much more confidently able to market. Leading to an increase in overall downloads and the added benefit or being post revenue.

We heavily relied on slack for communication and zoom calls when necessary. Overall their responses were professional and quick helping us feel more confident during development that our vision was being fulfilled.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their attention to detail and flexibly of management is the most impressive part of this company. I could clearly see that when certain tasks were harder resources would be pulled to our project in order to continue on pace.
This goes to show the level of attention they are willing to pay to their projects in order to assure that their clients needs are met.

One area which they could have improved was in the estimating of the length of time which certain features were going to take. Our project being unique in its scope of work and already having and existing MVP brought up unexpected hurdles which made us have to decide to reduce the scope of the project.
This was however handled well as it was clearly told to us and we were able to adjust as a team.

The key deliverable for our project was to release the mobile app and maintain its features. Moreover, we have also raised a rich amount of change requests on the application based on our product management strategy.
The project has started with the definition of the key end user journey on the app which was then transcribed into the application features (app design) by the Mobilist development team. During the development we have performed E2E testing of the mobile application and (Both SIT and UAT) before we release the initial release of our app.
