Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the project manager at Warner Music Group.
For what projects/services did your company hire Miquido, and what were your goals?
We wanted to develop an internal app for our leadership conference. We hired Miquido to develop the entire app. Our goal was to create an interactive app, with heavy visuals, push notifications. We needed it to be user friendly too,
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We searched for online app developers through our contacts. We shortlisted to 4. After speaking to Miquido, we decided to go with them based on their past projects, their costs, design capabilities and their teamwork/ expertise. They had a great dynamic, and knew exactly what we were envisioning to create from the moment we discussed and shared our brief.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We had a very specific idea of what we wanted the app to look like, and Miquido understood our vision and objectives straight away. So we didn't even have to spend too much time in discovery meetings. We provided them with our designs and they always incorporated every feedback we had and delivered revised versions.
One of the most crucial part of the project was going through our internal compliance and security protocols, and Miquido were on top of it every time, ensuring the app featured all those required specs. The app was then ready for app submission and we got less than 24h turnaround approval from the App Store.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with 1 account manager and predominately with 1 project manager and 2 app developers. They were just simply great with
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Our leadership team were so impressed on how easy the app was to use. It actually exceeded all expectations!
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The whole team was super easy to communicate with and extremely accessible for any little query we had! We had weekly meetings, and were speaking constantly on Slack. Everything was delivered within our tight timeline. They actually managed to deliver ahead of schedule, which as great, as that gave us enough time to test and make sure we were satisfied with all aspects of the app before going live on the App Store.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They not only delivered such a great, user-friendly app, they also paid a lot of attention to every detail. They really got involved in every aspect of the features of the app, and most importantly, they were always always available to answer us any questions we had
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Not really!

Mobile & Web App Development for Tech Solution Company
"The Miquido team was really easy to work with and had solid experience under their belt."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the current director and one of the co-founders of Cerdio and came from a consulting and finance background. The company had its origins in April 2020 in helping medical laboratories deal with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically in the operations & IT space.
We started with a consulting project, but quickly realised that there was a wider business case for this. We were very lucky to have been able to partner with a large medical laboratory conglomerate in Asia-Pacific early on. The switch from providing consulting services to setting up a company geared towards this challenge came naturally.
What challenge were you trying to address with Miquido?
In early 2020 time really was of the essence. Laboratories were scrambling to respond to the pandemic. Historically their clients were doctors or hospitals who would send hundreds or thousands of samples. Suddenly, not only did the number of a specific test that they had to run explode but they also had to deal with individuals who wanted to get a PCR or antibody test. Naturally, the labs' administrative workload increased exponentially, which exacerbated the challenge they faced.
But not only that, when recent negative tests became required for certain actions, reports that people had manipulated their results came in. People would often receive their test results as a simple PDF document, so all they had to do was to change the name or the date. Counterfeit security simply did not exist. This presented a challenge for laboratories, as it could obviously result in very bad PR, but also for governments grappling with controlling the spread early on.
We identified an opportunity there in really focusing on the customer experience and making it effortless. The goal was to provide a turn-key solution that handled the entire customer journey from looking to get tested to having the test result verified as genuine by a third party. We had to set up shop quickly, so our challenge was getting a technology and development team up and running in an exceptionally short timeframe. We knew from the get-go that we needed a highly capable partner with relevant experience to help us with the entire suite of problems that our clients were facing.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Together with our partners we initially identified the authentication solution as the most pressing need. The solution needed to be multi-platform, mobile and inclusive. We started with this broad concept based on our customers' business challenges. Miquido provided an entire range of services, starting from the initial workshops to figure out what the MVP would be and its associated development timeline. The core team on our side consisted of 4–5 people, so the scope of Miquido’s involvement was substantial.
Miquido supported us throughout the entire project. We came to them with an initial vision and concept of how authentication would work not only complying with the letter but also the spirit of data protection regulation across the world. We had multiple workshops with selected stakeholders to determine product details and timelines. Miquido’s design team came up with an excellent set of wireframes and throughout the project, we had a close-knit and agile development process.
The project encompassed back-ends deployed locally and in the cloud as well as front-ends on mobile and web. They really needed to be full service.
By the end of Miquido’s engagement, we had successfully launched the authentication application on iOS and Android as well as a web booking platform integrated with laboratories.
What is the team composition?
We outsourced practically the entire technology design and development functions to Miquido. They supported us with one UX/UI designer, between 2-4 developers, a project manager, and a QA person.
How did you come to work with Miquido?
We didn’t have all the required capabilities in-house and we needed to get this project off the ground quickly, which narrowed it down to a few providers. We set up meetings with this short-list, who sent us marketing materials from previous projects with relevance to our needs. Our decision was based on a providers ability to start quickly, the quality of their prior work, and their experience in healthcare and financial services due to the sensitivity of the data we would come in contact with. Since the whole project was based on increasing trust, the technology and the development team had to be very trustworthy. In addition, we faced a very stringent regulatory regime.
Miquido had successfully completed a number of prior healthcare and financial services projects. We had many conversations with their Account Executive and members of the team who were involved in these projects. This inspired a lot of confidence on our side.
How much have you invested in them?
We spent roughly $160,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started talking to Miquido in May 2020 and worked with them through to February 2021. In the final stages we began to move functions in-house, which is where we are today.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
A bit of background, while our paying customers are laboratories, the majority of the end users of the platform were the labs customers who would interact with our platform. We had two main goals; firstly to streamline the whole process to help labs and their staff alleviate their pain points; secondly a very intuitive customer journey for for the end customer, who for example wanted get a test for travel. Thus intuitive design and ease of use, was our success metric for how everything needed to be set up. Additionally speed to deployment was crucial for us — those two points were the ones that would shine over everything else.
In general, the entire process was very hands-on. We had multiple daily touch-points, and our teams were highly integrated. It felt like we were one working organisation despite Miquido being an external service provider. From that perspective, we were really happy with them. They weren’t the cheap, but quality has a price, and they did excellent work.
Aside from that, it was challenging for them because we were a startup in a rapidly evolving space. There were times when we needed something to be done quickly, and they stepped up to deliver. There were multiple occasions where it was crunch time, and they really delivered. Despite them being external, they pulled their weight, put in the effort as if they were part of the startup core team. We were very pleased with that and the design, feel and flow of the product. They did a great job.
We closed a licensing deal in Asia in 2021. In Europe, we’ve focused on the booking platform and it’s the business we’re engaged in now. We have a very low rate of customers needing support, which speaks to the quality of the product.
How did Miquido perform from a project management standpoint?
Overall, project management was good. We had to shift the goalposts a few time, as it was a fluid engagement, so naturally there were challenges. Despite this they met the vast majority of deadlines, and the ones that weren’t met had low priority. That’s just part and parcel of a fast evolving young business.
They set up a whole suite of project management tools that they made available to us. Amongst others we used Google Meets, Drive, Jira, Miro, Slack, and Gitlab. Essentially we were fully plugged into the process, we had full access, and multiple touch-points. On top of that we had calls and workshops for specific issues, as well as a scheduled weekly call to discuss progress and prioritisation. Overall, we were plugged into the whole development cycle.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The Miquido team was really easy to work with and had solid experience under their belt. Above all, they viewed themselves as part of the startup team, which I thought was extraordinary. We didn’t expect them to feel and act that way. We rate that very highly.
Are there any areas they could improve?
As it was a longer project and we worked together in a highly integrated fashion, we knew the Miquido team working on the project very well. Unfortunately one of their developers decided to leave the company. From a communications and planning perspective, it would’ve been good for us to have been made aware of this earlier. Overall, it didn’t have too much of an impact on the project as they immediately put someone else on the team. However, had we known sooner it would have made things easier.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure that you are super involved with the team. Get to know them, stay on top, be involved, and have open lines of communication. They're great to work with and it will pay dividends.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the technical project manager at Passbolt, a security solution startup.
What challenge were you trying to address with Miquido?
We needed help with mobile app development because we didn’t have the resources in-house.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Miquido built our Android and iOS mobile apps. We did an analysis of how we wanted to build the application before we got in touch with them, and we also provided them with the full API documentation as well as the security concept for the web app. They then created a proof of concept. Once we were able to assess their technical capacity, we started building both apps.
For both applications, Miquido used native languages. They used Kotlin for the Android app and Swift for the iOS app. They built features that can allow users to create, fetch, and use passwords within the mobile and web applications.
They initially proposed a UI/UX design for both apps, but after 25% of the project was done, we took over that part. We also developed the web app in-house.
What is the team composition?
There’s a project manager, a QA, two iOS developers, and two Android developers. After they delivered the first version at the beginning of 2022, we scaled down the team. Now, we’re only working with a project manager, a QA, and one developer for each platform.
How did you come to work with Miquido?
We were in contact with another company, but it was bought out by an American company. They recommended Miquido to us.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested over €200,000 (approximately $218,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in March 2021, and our partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Since launching the apps at the beginning of this year, we’ve secured a couple thousand users. We’ve also received an average of four stars in both app stores, which means users really like the experience so far. The apps also won an award in Poland for being the best business mobile application of the year.
How did Miquido perform from a project management standpoint?
We have an agile collaboration. Tthere was some initial friction and mistakes in terms of the project estimates, but we’ve since learned and made more accurate estimates. That being said, our collaboration is great. We use ClickUp, and we have daily standups.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re talented, hardworking, and reliable. They don’t hesitate to work until the job is done. There is full transparency between the Miquido team and our team, and we really like working with them. We feel that they take pride in what they’re making.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We had an issue with the initial estimate of the product, but they’ve been very keen to accept feedback and improve their services. Once certain tweaks were made, our collaboration has gotten better. Now, I have no constructive feedback for the team.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you’re looking for serious engineers to build a mobile application, I recommend working with them. They are a team you can entrust with a complex project. They’re very pleasant to work with.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CEO of a sports tech company headquartered in Philadelphia.
For what projects/services did your company hire Miquido, and what were your goals?
We wanted to create a mobile app for both iOS and Android that was both easy to use and was the manifestation of the exact idea.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We found Miquido through an app development broker named Pangea (formerly known as Digital Knights) after interviewing 5 different vendors.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We had a number of workshops that led to us creating many user stories and different wireframes. The idea was to have an MVP that would take too much time for a competitor to copy. So there are many different features within the app that required different technologies and third-party companies to be implemented into this app. A landing page and branding were also done in-house.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
A project manager was and continues to be our main point of contact throughout this development. Throughout the time there would be a need for more resources but on average there were about 10–15 people working on the team.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We are still in development but one thing that should be noted is how amazing Miquido is at sharing a vision in an idea and making it come to life both in the way it looks and the way that it feels. This has been shown in every demo meeting.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
It is very easy to get in contact with the project manager through Slack and email. They are very flexible when it comes to setting times for meetings as well.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Not only are they knowledgeable in their craft, but they've also done an amazing job of teaching us along the way. Just being able to communicate with them as peers despite any disagreement or brainstorming sessions made it a very comfortable environment.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The only improvement I have in mind is a more in-depth initial workshop to estimate the potential need for certain required implementations that would come up in later stages in development. This way companies that don’t have a large budget can better understand how big or small they can go with development.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Product Manager for the Dolby On apps at Dolby Laboratories in San Francisco.
For what projects/services did your company hire Miquido, and what were your goals?
We wanted to maintain the Dolby On apps as well as enhance the experience and develop new features. We also wanted to experiment with new and emerging Dolby technologies in the mobile application space, through the creation of POC's.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
In the past, Dolby On worked with a competitor to Miquido. When this resource became unavailable, the competitor highly recommended Miquido as a compatible resourse. After meeting with Miqudo, we decided to set up a short-term trial. In the trial phase, the team performed above and beyond our expectations. We proceeded with a long-term partnership.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
When Miqudo onboarded, it took less than 1 month for the team to become fully acclimated. My team and I were very impressed with Miquido's ability to onboard rapidly and become familiar with our applications and technologies.
Miquido was tasked with maintaining development work on the Dolby On iOS and Android apps, support analytics, development program management, the launch of a new internal POC, testing and QA, bug triage and fixes, integration with Dolby owned API's, as well as UX design.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
A project manager was assigned to lead the cross-functional collaboration. The project manager has been our main point of contact. We also interact daily with the lead iOS and Android engineer, Ux designer, and DevOps engineer.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Since Miquido began working with us, we've seen a sizable increase in downloads, activations, and increased retention. Our release schedule has reached a more timely, dependable, and productive cadence.
Our overall development and planning operations have drastically improved, and now serve as an example for other development teams in our organization. Lastly, the overall look and feel, as well as usability has dramatically improved due to the time and attention from UX and dev leads.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The project management from Miquidio is absolutely excellent. Not only are they fast, reliable, flexible, and consistent, but they are also excellent communicators and teachers. My team and I have learned so many new skills and approaches thanks to the help of our Miquido PM.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their deep knowledge of mobile development and attention to future trends has really impressed us. Most of all, we are constantly impressed by how dedicated our Miqudio partners are to the success of our apps and greater business as a whole.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Our Miquido team has surpassed all expectations thus far.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We were seeking a reliable software development house having had a number of false starts / problems with other agencies. Our experiences with agencies have generally been poor with each previous agency prioritising their own needs above ours.
Miquido were exceptional because they truly took time to understand our needs and our budget considerations. They demonstrated a truly customer-centric approach that we just haven't experienced elsewhere.
For what projects/services did your company hire Miquido, and what were your goals?
End to end development of a mobile application that requires CMS control on our side.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
During the initial discussions with Miquido, we were reassured by their desire to genuinely prioritise our needs and address our concerns about working with agencies. They seemed to genuinely want to do the right thing by us as a company rather than just using up our budget.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Miquido recommended a low-code approach, relying on the existing solutions whenever possible instead of coding everything from scratch. That’s why there are many technologies involved in the final version of the app: it is using Firebase for authentication, data storage, and app management;
Contentful is used as the main CMS; MixPanel gathers user data. In order to provide an effective cross-platform solution, we’ve decided to go with the reliable React Native. This way the final product is not limited in any way and is capable of functioning both on- and offline.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Miquido’s team for this project has been pretty tight. We had 2 React Native developers engaged full time, as well as one tester and a project manager involved 50% of the time. Nevertheless, they were able to complete the basic requirements in 7 weeks.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The app is already available in Google Play and App Store. All deliverables were achieved under budget and our app is performing better than ever.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Project management was very slick and seamless and we never had to worry about delays or poor communication.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
As above, there was a genuine customer-centric approach, a desire to not waste budget and resources, and a "start-up friendly" approach. Working with Miquido was like having an in-house team that genuinely wanted to keep things lean and efficient. All other agencies we've worked with failed to deliver such an excellent service.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CTO of a startup.
What challenge were you trying to address with Miquido?
We had a bad experience with another provider trying to bootstrap our product, so we needed another company to pick up where they left off.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Miquido served as consultants when it came to rearchitecting what we had. We asked for an initial assessment of our current state. We knew it internally, but we wanted it verified with them to see what they’d suggest. The report was accurate and spot on.
We then initiated the first phase, which was to build the components library for a Flutter application. Then, we moved onto getting more developers on board from them and integrating the UI library with the rest of the app. We provided the content, visuals, and layout while they just helped with the actual development.
They also helped clean up the legacy codes that we had in place. We then added QA to the mix because we had a lot of trouble getting it in a stable state. They continued to help us with that.
We received web expertise from them as well. They took a lot of responsibility and ownership on both QA and engineering. They helped us implement the actual changes. On the QA, they helped us identify logical, product-wise issues and implementation issues.
Now we’re launching in the app stores. The app is for iOS and Android. We expect to get a little more help from Miquido.
What is the team composition?
Initially, we had two people on the engineering side, but we increased that team to three. We also have two QA people.
How did you come to work with Miquido?
Miquido was recommended to us.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested $120,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2021, and we extended our partnership to August.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Miquido is hands-on with all aspects of the project. They provide a lot of help, and they’ve been doing a good job. Their developers are knowledgeable. We had bad experiences working with consultancies in the past, but Miquido is great at assigning resources. It’s been a positive experience, and we didn’t have any complaints.
How did Miquido perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management isn’t something they help us with. It comes from our side. We didn’t have any issues with getting them up to speed. We work in a scrum methodology. It wasn’t difficult for us to explain everything to them, and they adapted.
Their team delivered as promised except for cases with unforeseen issues like COVID-19. They were always professional. We communicate through Slack and Zoom.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Miquido didn’t try to oversell themselves, which is something that frequently happens with other agencies. They were well structured and organized.
We made it clear that we were using Angular, but they didn’t have a lot of expertise in-house. Miquido went out of their way to help us find solutions. We ended up hiring in-house for that, but they were honest that they didn’t have that expertise.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They had some policies regarding when meetings should happen or how they should be that didn’t fit our way of working. It’s not a bad thing, but I’d expect them to be able to have solutions for how to cope with it.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Communication is key. They have good people. If I had to compare them with the previous agency or other agencies we’ve worked with before, they don’t try to escape blame.
Their team is super flexible. They understand the product and give you the people to build it as if they were part of your team. You should treat them as if they’re part of your team.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Chief Operating Officer of a software development and IT services company.
For what projects/services did your company hire Miquido, and what were your goals?
We hired Miquido to develop a pair of mobile applications and a web interface to assist our customers manage vehicle queues.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Miquido had really great experience and past performance. This experience was combined with a sound planning and execution methodology, a culture of delivery, and reasonable prices. We wanted to make sure that the new capability fit seamlessly into our normal engineering operation and maintenance model - Miquido offered the ability to do that without significant technological change.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Miquido developed two mobile applications (in both iOS and Android) and a web interface - all of which are linked together. Everything was built in AWS.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Throughout the project, twelve individuals contributed to the effort. We had a full complement of resources applied to the team. This included a program manager, designers, front end developers, backend developers, DevOps engineers, Quality Assurance, and architects.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The deliverables were of high quality and met the intended purpose/expectations. We were very concerned about intuitive design given our diverse customer base and the deliverables have received significant positive feedback for simple, clear, and intuitive operations. More complicated aspects of the application (geolocation and automated queueing logic) were developed soundly.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Miquido's project management was incredibly collaborative and open. Development tools were shared between their team and our managers. They were very clear at the beginning that our constant engagement would be a key factor in success and made sure that everything was transparent and timely. We finished on time and on budget. I always knew that I could get an answer back very quickly should I have one.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their ability to quickly synthesize the problem, break it down into management requirements, and then deliver according to their plan was amazing. There were no games and/or efforts to broaden scope - you got what they said they would deliver. Even though we build software as a core function of our business, we learned some from the Miquido processes.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Honestly can't think of anything to constructively offer.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder of a social networking platform.
What challenge were you trying to address with Miquido?
We needed their team to help us build our MVP.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Miquido did full-stack development and built our MVP for native iOS. We started by providing them our vision and preparing the wireframes, and they then helped us flesh out our ideas until we were ready for the development and implementation stages. They designed the app's UI in collaboration with our internal team and took over the in-app design. Our MVP is built to be user-generated content (UGC)-enabled.
We just launched the product last April 2021, and Miquido continues to build solutions to help us improve our platform.
What is the team composition?
We work with Mike (iOS Developer & Project Manager), a quality analyst, two frontend and two backend developers, and an account manager. Their assigned resources vary depending on the task they have to take on.
How did you come to work with Miquido?
Miquido was recommended to us by a recruiter in our area. We then spoke with their team and went to Poland for an exploratory meeting, discussing scope, price, etc. We felt confident that they could efficiently handle the project, so hiring them was an easy decision to make.
How much have you invested with them?
We've spent $300,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began in October 2019, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We just launched our product after pausing operations due to the pandemic, but we've already received positive feedback from users and external developers. Miquido has utilized solutions that highlight our map-related app features, which others had told us not to use because they could be too difficult. While we encounter a few bugs and issues now and then, none of these remain unresolved.
I'm confident that Miquido's work will help our business reach greater heights — their team empowered us to move forward with our business by building the product that we envisioned.
How did Miquido perform from a project management standpoint?
We mainly communicate via Slack and Google Hangouts. Miquido has reliable project management skills. I'm especially impressed with Mike's capacity to simplify technical language for our team to understand — it shows how well they manage their clients. Their involvement helps us not to feel isolated in any phase of the project.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Miquido goes above and beyond their technical expertise to deliver what we need. They're a team of positive, hard-working people who communicate well with us despite our language barriers.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We've had to deal with the removal of our senior developers twice, one being more detrimental than the other. Miquido could fine-tune their structure around communicating with clients and preparing them for the removal or movement of resources to ensure that all deadlines are met without hurdles.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
The more prepared you are, the better the engagement will go. Be sure to break down your timeline, vision, and expectations — Miquido will take it from there and deliver what you want.

Project summary:
Miquido provides mobile application development, working on native iOS and Android apps. Basing the backend on the company’s website, they’ve developed e-commerce, e-book, and download features.
Feedback summary:
Having launched in late 2017, the apps have received more than 300,000 downloads and excellent ratings on the respective app stores. The team is devoted and consistent but could improve their communication and level of proactiveness in terms of contributing ideas.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a partner of a mobile application devoted to selling e-books and audiobooks in Poland.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Miquido?
We needed someone to build our app from scratch. It’s for buying, reading e-books, and listening to audio books.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We provided full documentation and specifications before they began, then they were responsible for the native iOS and Android application development, basing the backend on our current website.
It features a shop where users can buy and download the products, and there is also a subscription service for which they developed the module. The third component is the e-book reader, where users can open the files they’ve purchased either individually or within the subscription. The last part is the audiobook player, with lots of its own specific features.
We’re slowly moving some of the technology competencies in-house, but we are still doing full-on development with Miquido. They’re releasing new features every two weeks for both platforms.
What is the team composition?
We have a full mobile development team, including two Android developers, two iOS developers, a mobile tester, a UI/UX designer, and one project manager.
How did you come to work with Miquido?
I joined the company after the cooperation started. They received two or three offers from the top software houses in Poland, and Miquido’s was the best.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent over $500,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in May 2017 and the work is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The apps have been live since November 2017. We’ve had more than 300,000 downloads of the app within a year and three months and we have 65,000 active users each month. We get loads of feedback—our rating in the App Store is 4.6 and in the Play Store it’s 4.4.
How did Miquido perform from a project management standpoint?
I’m very happy with the cooperation. It was tricky because we’re a big organization that isn’t technology focused. There are loads of different stakeholders on our side and they’re not in our offices, so sometimes that’s hard to navigate. There are some communication issues from time to time as with all outsourced teams, but nothing major. We communicate with Jira, Slack, and Confluence.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The team is devoted to the project and there haven’t been any huge changes. They rotate the employees. Even if there are replacements, they’re made in a timely manner and are good. I’m impressed with their HR and how they manage to retain talent on their side.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Their level of proactiveness could be improved as, generally, they’re a bit passive. They leave it for the customer to decide when something is not the best scenario, but they should be more vocal and share the risks associated with certain practices. They could also offer more insight into the best way forward.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
No.
