So far they annotated eleven classes found in a garbage truck. These are hard plastic, wood, paper, dangerous waste, PMD, garden waste, glass, colored garbage bags, see-through garbage bags, foils and food. For every class there is a description on how to annotate them specifically. Because of the high variability and occlusion of the objects, this is a huge challenge.

Whenever we need to finish a model quickly, they go out of their way to deliver it to us. They annotated over a thousand images in less than two weeks, while understanding the many instructions that come along with it. To be clear, it is not an easy project to annotate!
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
They are very eager to deliver, but that sometimes came in the way of delivering annotations of the highest quality. The project at itself is very hard to annotate so that is also a big factor. With big and difficult tasks I would advice to work incrementally and deliberately inform and ask for feedback from their client after every batch of images is finished.

We also provide annotation instructions and examples, and the operators give back the cell tracks.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of an AI software company. We develop software for image analysis and, in particular, for smart parking. We get images from parking areas and give our users real-time information on parking occupancy.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Mindy Support?
We needed help with data annotation in order to improve our machine learning models. When we started the company, we were doing the annotations internally but it wasn’t a very scalable model.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Mindy Support has a couple of different tasks. One task is about visibly annotative research of what an image represents. The other one is a more general task. They get an overview of a certain parking area, and they manually annotate around each one of the cars. We mostly use C++ and Python for our software.
We provide them some annotations to work on. We send them a few links, and they connect to those links to work on the annotation campaigns. Then, they use our annotation tools to do their work.
What is the team composition?
We work with one main point of contact and a technical contact.
How did you come to work with Mindy Support?
We chose Mindy Support out of convenience. We were working with another firm, and we asked them to do data annotation for us. However, they weren’t specialized in that area, so they recommended Mindy Support.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around €3,000–€4,000 (approximately $3,600–$4,800 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in February 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The quality of Mindy Support’s work has been very satisfactory. These tasks are repetitive and relatively easy to carry on. However, quality is extremely important. So far, I’m very happy with the quality.
How did Mindy Support perform from a project management standpoint?
Mindy Support’s project management has been working well. We communicate through email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Mindy Support succeeds in the whole process. We give them annotations, and they do them and give them back to us. The results have been very positive, and everything is very smooth.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There was a bit of a learning curve in the beginning, but that’s normal. We have very specific tasks, and we've had to provide them with very detailed instructions. We did a couple of joint sessions in which we explained exactly what we needed.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be very clear on your expectations. This applies to most outsourcing companies, not just them.

Our company manufactures and develops integrated AR-gaming systems for business use. During this project I functioned as the support manager at our company.

For what projects/services did your company hire , and what were your goals??
We hired Mindy Support to provide us with staff for our first level customer care, to operate in a 24/7 rotation.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We screened around 15 different companies and their offers for this project and ended up with Mindy Support due to best offered value, competetive price and professional staff.

Mindy Support provides us with a 4 person team to cover our customer care desk for 24/7. In addition Mindy offers us with a project manager who functions as a link between us and the team in any training/HR/other needs. Mindy also offers soft skills training for the agents when we have needed it.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
During the sales phase, Mindy Support Sales representative was very polite, professional and helpful. During our ongoing operations our 3 main contacts at Mindy Support are our Project Manager, Delivery Manager and Head of BPO. Mindy has always asked for feedback proactively and has recieved all feedback in a very positive and constructive manner.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the service?
Our CSAT rating during our project has been 100%, our availability to our customer has improved massively and overall we have been very happy. Early on in the project we had to replace one agent on short notice, but even this worked out well in the end.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Project management is very down to earth but still quick and effective. Processes are not made any more difficult or complicated than they need to be.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The staff have always been very positive and always ready to help. Even with our more tedious requests, which we have really appreciated.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Communicating the limitations of the available agent pool earlier on could have been done, this was cleared up but a bit later in the project than we would have preferred.
