Mind Studios put together a business case for the application and then began desigingin the wireframes and the initial concepts. This included UI/UX designs. Once this was done, they began work on the actual developing for both back and front end for iOS and Android.

Responsiveness. They are generally responsive to all requests and will go out of their way to do jobs and tasks not in the initial proposal without charging such as designing a website and launching it. They are also quite organised and there were no major problems during the development process. All bugs were eventually smoothed out.

To work faster. To not charge for very small changes. Also to possibly lower prices.

We’re a hospitality platform, and our goal is to make it easy for people to book on-demand, personalized services in vacation communities. I’m part of the executive team.

We wanted to create an online presence, but we didn’t have the technology or development capabilities to build a website. Hence, we hired Mind Studio to develop one for us.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Mind Studio developed our website from scratch. Initially, we held discovery calls with them, during which we discussed the scope of work in detail. Then, they came back to us with a proposal based on our requirements and budget and explained the next steps of the project. From there, they proceeded with the work, handling both the development and UI/UX design process. They also integrated a payment system into the site and provided maintenance and hosting services.

Their team used Figma to create the designs and various technologies for development, including PHP and Ruby.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

In terms of metrics, we were really focused on the number of bookings and total revenue generated. After launching our website, we managed to hit our revenue goals by September 2022.

How did Mind Studios perform from a project management standpoint?

They stayed on budget and met most of our deadlines. We used Jira and Confluence for managing tasks and communicated via Slack, email, and WhatsApp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed with Mind Studios’ ability to get things done quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It took a lot of effort to communicate with their team effectively due to the language barrier; we really had to spell things out in order for them to understand what we were saying and not waste time. That being said, it would be helpful if they had an English representative or someone from the US working with American clients, especially on the UI/UX design process.

Our website was created about two years ago by Mind Studios and we wanted to bring some freshness and reflect the experience and knowledge we had gained in the past two years.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Since we were satisfied with our previous experience with Mind Studios, it made sense that we wanted to continue collaborating with them within the scope of this new project.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

The project started with agreeing on our objectives and deadlines, and what changes were required for each existing and new webpage. We then provided more detailed guidelines including the new copies and inspirations for the design. During the first stage of the project, the designer made a draft version of the home and main webpages.

Once we reached an alignment and considered it was exactly what we wanted, the designer continued with the rest of the webpages. The work consisted of several meetings during which we would provide our feedback to the designer.

During the second part of project, the frontend developer implemented the work of the designer. That part was particularly smooth since we had already agreed on the entire design. Overall, Mind Studios demonstrated a good organisation and made sure that the process remained as transparent and fluid as possible.

I collaborated with 4 actors, the head of business development, the project manager, the UX/UI designer, and the frontend developer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We reached the objectives we had agreed on and are very happy with the final result. Our developer were also able to implement the code easily.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We communicated through Slack, Figma, and by mail with the different actors involved. The team was pretty fast to react and receptive to our feedback.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their team was very flexible and organized. Each one of them would always stay on the top of things and know about the latest updates.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They should include more time for changes made based on our feedback. It is normal that this kind of project includes back-and-forth and it seemed sometimes like they were surprised we were providing such detailed feedback and asking for changes in the design.

We hired the MindStudios for a complete redesign of our existing app and to launch it on both iOS and Android. The speed of the app, features, and the design had to be improved and modernized.

We came across the MindStudios when browsing on the internet for mobile app development companies that had experience with meditation/wellness apps and audio players, together with a modern design. After reading a blog of the MindStudios and checking their portfolio we decided to contact them and discuss the project.

We started the project with a complete redesign of our existing app. The Mindstudios came up with a modern and nice looking design. After the design phase they started developing both the app on iOS and Android, and in parallel implemented the new website with new app screens and functionalities.

A project manager was assigned to the project, together with a quality team and developers. Furthermore, we were in contact with their business developer manager that was there helping us throughout the whole project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We had a successful relaunch of the iOS and Android app and have already over 3000 downloads after a few weeks after the launch. The feedback we are getting from users is amazing and everybody loves the design and flow of the app. The MindStudios delivered a state of the art app.

The project manager setup Slack as communication tools and other tools like Figma for the app design and UX/UI. Every week we received an update on the project and all the features that were implemented. The MindStudios work in sprints of 2 weeks in which they before share the scope and after approval start to work on it. This gives a clear idea of what is happening.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The mobile app development skills were even better than we have hoped. As well their dedication to the project and enthusiasm really made the collaboration successful.

We have opened up to them about a few minor things that could be improved, they listened to our feedback and immediately took action.

What challenge were you trying to address with Mind Studios?

We were trying to develop our front-facing MVP that would be received well by the end consumer as well as the real estate agents that would work with it. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked together to identify what I needed, and what business challenges we needed to overcome. Adhering to a sprint schedule, we then launched into the design phase. We reevaluated our progress at the end of every sprint.

The scope of work included Stripe, Twilio, and Calendly integrations, and the team coded in JavaScript to create the single-page application (SPA).

What is the team composition?

The team size fluctuated throughout the process, but the team consisted of an initial designer, front- and backend devs, and two project managers. I’d say that I worked with around ten people in total.

How did you come to work with Mind Studios?

I found them through Clutch. I liked the reviews that I saw so I held meetings with 4­–5 of their teammates. Anton (Co-Founder, Mind Studios) really impressed me, so I decided to go with them.

How much have you invested with them?

The project began in July 2019 and the work is ongoing. We’ve completed our rough MVP and are putting in the finishing touches. I plan on engaging them long-term.

We’ve spent around $100,000–$120,000.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They’ve done an amazing job. While I’d heard horror stories about outsourcing, I’ve had no issues at all with development or general output. While we haven’t launched our product yet, the platform has received great feedback, and the process of working together has been very smooth.

How did Mind Studios perform from a project management standpoint?

They were flawless. They kept me in line the entire time and there was very little miscommunication. They did a good job of prioritizing certain tasks over others. We used Slack, Skype, and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their services are extremely fairly-priced for the quality of the development you’re getting. They’re truly top-notch.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything negative. I’ve just had a really good experience.

I’d encourage you to have a strong relationship with your project manager. Make sure to communicate effectively with the team lead so that you can be successful in your end product.
