Kaiyo Email Marketing Management & Strategy
Kaiyo brought us on to help take their email marketing to the next level on Klaviyo built on top of a custom integration with their site. As a two sided marketplace with ever-changing inventory, Kaiyo needed creative ways to leverage email as volume of particular items is always limited.
Built on a great relationship with the Kaiyo development team, we created new data feeds and flows to source related products and better segment offers based on interests, cart values, and brands - we have sustainably grown Kaiyo’s revenue through email and better enabled the features and backend processes they built to shine through on email.

Lifecycle Marketing Ops & Consulting in Braze
Ritual brought our team on to help them to execute their lifecycle marketing initiatives during a significant shift in their business due to COVID from a personnel, product, and communication strategy standpoint.
Before joining, the Ritual Marketing Team struggled to execute their weekly campaign initiatives with email development and rendering challenges, difficulty managing segmentation and an inability to leverage dynamic content. GoodieCo - Email &SMS Marketing in Klaviyo
We partnered with Australian based team GoodieCo to take over their email operations during a phase of expansion - as their email operations were not keeping up with growth across both Australian and US markets.
Given the importance of email in their business model, we needed to execute high email volume, while maintaining good deliverability and engagement. It was also critical to keep their designs high quality and unique, just like their brand.
During the partnership, email & SMS contributed to 55% of total revenue, and despite the increased volume, we maintained healthy email engagement metrics at 20% open rates and 1.5% overall click rates for campaigns, which we averaged sending 2-3 times per week.

We have primarily worked with MH Digital to streamline our Braze communication across multiple app groups. After a few initial discovery walkthroughs about our business, they took on one-off campaign comms execution and user lifecycle comms strategy development. Their expertise on Braze's interface, reporting, and overall capabilities could not be matched by anyone internal, and the value they provided as true product owners in these executions was insurmountable.

Our comms execution process used to be SUCH a heavy lift internally that would require a lot of time and effort to execute less-than-ideal communication. With MH Digital, the process is significantly smoother and comes with a higher level of confidence in the accuracy of execution.
They continue to push us in order to generate the most positive impact on our business as true partners and seamlessly flex between one-off campaign execution and automated lifecycle comms strategy without hesitation. Although these outcomes are non-numeric, they are immeasurably valuable to our internal team's effectiveness and efficiency.

We have built out our email program internally prior to MH Digital coming online. We had done our research and tried to apply the tactics we read about but it still felt like we were missing out on revenue. We wanted a partnership with someone or an agency that we could trust to help us fortify our email program as one pillar of our revenue channels. To achieve this we figured they would need to optimize what we had already done and point out new initiatives that we were clearly missing.
How did you select MH Digital Consulting Group?
We narrowed our search down to about 3-4 other solutions/services/agencies. Our primary goal was to find a partner we could grow with, whether it was with an individual or an agency.
Price was a factor but a smaller one. We found a lot of MH Digital’s competitors offered up cookie-cutter offerings that were a one-size fits all solution. The thing that stuck out about MH Digital was their approach to understanding our business needs and challenges first then coming up with the appropriate solution.

We had built a custom solution using SendGrid and MailGun to execute our email program. We knew there was a better solution that would give us the ability to test, iterate and report based on our internal KPI’s.
Once we had access to those KPI’s we wanted a partner to help us interpret those results and come up with and implement a strategy to make our email program more profitable.
What was the team composition?
Rob and Adam were our main point of contacts. They managed the direction of the strategy while Todd worked on implementation and Erin worked on the design and copy. It was a whole team effort.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
MH Digital was able to hit and exceed expectations within the first 60 days of taking over our email program. They were able to get us migrated from SendGrid and MailGun over to Klaviyo. The conversion rates started to increase immediately. Additionally, they identified a handful of new revenue streams that has helped us fortify this revenue channel.
While simultaneously monitoring and increasing our deliverability which lowered our risk of this channel deteriorating over time. We are still engaged with MH Digital and expect the grow to continue.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The team at MH Digital doesn’t need to be held by the hand. They are effective with their communication and very thorough with their understanding of the business needs and challenges (undering not just the business but my customers). They are open to having a call when needed, slack is our primary form of communication and at this point we have a monthly status call.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The MH Digital team took the time to thoroughly understand our business and customers (which in my experience, is rare for an agency to do). Owning multiple businesses and working with multiple vendors, you can tell they care about our success more than their bottom line.
We have spent many years learning about ways we could optimize our funnels and implementing those ideas, so I thought we were at the point of having to squeeze that last little bit of revenue from this program. However, they were able to identify 3-4 initiatives that were implemented right out of the gate and started to generate a great ROI.
They have an abundance of understanding of email in today’s ever changing environment. From new and old policies/legal statues, effective brand voice for copywriting, graphic design, segmentation and experiment implementation.

The MH Digital team first developed an email messaging strategy to complement the user journey at registration, onboarding, and through to purchase, complete with the necessary data and events from our application to trigger and segment the messaging. They helped us find and scale our communication starting with Klaviyo, identify issues in our data management and integration, and then migrated us to Braze once we were ready to take the next step for our user communication across different channels.
Since that point, they have collaborated with our team to continue to improve messaging in combination with push and in-app messaging to precisely measure the lift in engagement and other KPIs from those channels. They also monitor our email deliverability and continue to work with our engineering team to manage data flow and integrity as we improve and grow our app.

Currently our only product as a business is a daily newsletter. We have been running into issues around email deliverability, technical setup, third party software integrations, etc. Essentially the whole gamut of email problems you could think of, we had.

We needed to improve email deliverability, set up more advanced email automation flows and triggers, integrate additional third-party software, code HTML email templates, etc. We were looking for an involved partner that could act as an "Email Project Manager" of sorts.

I worked closely with the principles of the firm, as well as their HTML email developer, Todd. They were all extremely responsive, patient and understanding.

We have fixed numerous rendering issues with our emails. Otherwise, our project is still ongoing but our numbers are all trending in the right direction.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
As is normal starting off a business relationship, there was a brief period where we were trying to figure out how to best work together. While we were working through this phase, the principles were extremely helpful in ensuring the relationship exceeded and that we figured out the best way to implement structure and efficiency into the relationship.

I'm the most impressed about how the company seems to truly listen and understand our business goals. I believe this strategic alignment allows them to take more of a hands-on and proactive approach rather than waiting for specific direction like most agencies we've worked with.

What challenge were you trying to address with MH Digital Consulting Group?
We did not have in-house expertise for email marketing. Our team hired MH Digital Consulting Group to execute various campaigns for one of our websites.

First, the team evaluated 10 different email marketing solutions that could fit our needs. The project then transitioned from consulting to content generation. Our team created content for the emails and MH Digital Consulting Group focused on the taglines, visuals, and conversion rates.

After explaining our email marking needs MH Digital suggested Klaviyo and delivered the migration from our previous software. The migration was relatively complex and involved hooking up multiple 3rd party software and payment solutions through automated triggers and workflows. MH Digital created both promotion and transactional email templates, campaigns, and automation sequences to deliver the right emails at the right time.

I've worked with many members of MH Digital from the principle consultants to the copy writers and I found all members of the team to be very knowledgeable and hard working.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
MH Digital has completely redefined our email marking and provided us with a solid platform for future growth and development. Running a subscription business; it's extremely important that our customers receive the right emails at the right time and MH Digital have helped us to implement this. Our email templates are aesthetically pleasing and effective in converting new customers and equally important retaining our current customers.

Very effective. MH Digital has a great setup in place for collaboration.

I am most impressed by the knowledge and competence of the principle consultants. Any questions I have are always answered quickly. We have received a very high level of consultancy for both the creative and technical tasks in the project.
