What challenge were you trying to address with Mendel Sites?

We wanted to do a rebrand to have a more concise website and be able to reach a broader audience.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Mendel Sites completed a web redevelopment for us on our WordPress page. They revamped the entire platform to deliver a completely different site and new branding. Our goal was to focus on the various services we provide currently, in the future, and our blog posts. Mendel Sites will be working with us for ongoing maintenance of the website.

Mendel Sites was referred to me by a past web developer. During our initial discovery call, Sam was very thorough on the process, prices, and time frame of the project. He was able to clearly articulate my vision for our upgrade.

We have invested roughly $3,000 CAD (approximately $2,300 USD) with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2022, and we have an ongoing partnership. They completed the revamp in mid-May. The original project was to be completed in mid-March. However, I had to push the project back by one month.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

With the site completed, Mendel Sites are continuing to support my business by providing information and tutorials on how to navigate the analytics and as well as managing and navigating the site. What I can say is that I got my first coaching call the next day the site went live. Overall, they’ve knocked it out of the park, and I’m delighted with their work.

Mendel Sites provided exceptional project management. Their engagement with me, follow-up, and detailed information allowed me the sense of trust that my project was in good hands. They’ve also been patient with me when I needed to take a step back. Sam’s turnaround time when I was able to get back up and running was less than 2 weeks — we very impressed with their completion time and appreciated it! I’m also impressed with their communication efforts — emails were answered within1-2 hours with Zoom calls to confirm additional information and direction!

Mendel Sites is an organization that cares about their clients. They built this trust and respect through being true to their word and providing an amazing website to back up their hard work. Sam’s genuine desire to create something amazing for the customer, and to take the time to listen to what I wanted, while putting in the effort to create the vision for a great outcome.

I am the owner/director of my own business, raising labradoodles and bernedoodles.

My website was old, outdated, not mobile friendly. I hired Sam to freshen it up, optimize it, make it mobile friendly, update it.

I reached out to many website developers for quotes. Sam was easily the most personable and responsive to my inquiry. There was no question from the beginning that he was who i would use to build my website.

initial contact was made through an ad, his response was very prompt. He provided good insight into reasons to use a different platform than the one i was initially seeking. we had an initial phone call to discuss further. Within 24 hours he had emailed as promised with access to a shared google drive in which i could begin uploading photos, text, etc.

The google drive folders also clearly outlined what info was needed from me and made it easy to add info for him to begin work. Sam was in contact throughout the process, basically anytime i added into and he updated the website in process. I was able to see the website as it was being built and we had several zoom calls throughout the process to discuss changes to photos, text, etc. Sam was very patient, very accessible, very responsive throughout the entire process.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The website looks very professional, such an upgrade from the 2010 version that i built! It is now mobile friendly, modern looking.

It was flawless, very easy.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Sam seems to genuinely care about creating a website that is unique to you, and not just a cookie cutter. They were very responsive to feedback and definitely seemed to know what they were talking about when it comes to SEO and all the important back-end stuff.

None that i can think of!

I’m a registered nurse with over 40 years of experience in neonatal intensive care. Now, I’m doing home visits for neonatal, newborn, and breastfeeding support for parents.

I didn’t have a website and I wanted to move away from relying solely on word-of-mouth and Instagram business. This was an entirely new goal for me.

They developed a diverse website based on my documentation. Leveraging stock photos, they made the site welcoming to different sexual orientation, races, and more.

The site has only been up for a few days, so it will take a while for it to create results. The feedback from my colleagues and family has been very positive. They all like how it looks and feels. The website represents who I am very well.

They are very approachable, soft-spoken, and kind. The owner knows his stuff in terms of building a website. We communicate by text and email. They’re very responsive.

This is my first foray into web development and design, but I think they are very articulate and caring. The owner has listened to everything I’ve said and offers his suggestions — he takes my ideas into consideration. If I’m not sure about some aspect of the site, they’ll steer me in the right direction.

I haven’t seen anything for them to improve.

I didn’t have to do any of the heavy lifting because of their skill set. They walked me through the web development process step by step, allowing me to simply say “yes” or “no.”

I gave Sam all the information I needed to be included in the project and explained globally what I was hoping to see. I can't say exactly what the details were as this is not my area of expertise and this is why I hired him - to not have to think of the details and 'how to'. He delivered the project on time, did his follow-ups, asked questions, and made changes according to my comments.

Sam was on point with what he needed to accomplish. He followed up and followed through. He shared a document with me so we can collect any elements (photo, document) he needed to do the job. this allowed us to communicate and ensured we did not miss anything.

I am the Owner and President. We are a full service print provider who also specializes in the distribution of packaging materials.

Our original website was created in a rush, having bought the company 2 weeks before the global onset of Covid 19. We contracted Mendel sites to create Phase 1 of a 3 Phase rebuild to ensure our site properly represented our products and service offerings and better representative of the brand we have built.

We identified what we were trying to accomplish. We were provided a worksheet to work through the initial development of basic but important content. After framework was created we began to supply images and page content. Sam was great to provide feedback and suggestions from start to finish and completed for us the complete turn over from old to new including helping us with recommended hosting services etc.

Our site has just gone live and as we start to make use of the analytic tools brought to us we are seeing a higher level of traffic and click through

As an Ottawa company, we engaged with Mendel Sites entirely remotely and comfortably, which was a huge plus for us.

My company is a media outlet that provides coverage for the Toronto Raptors. Very small operation and I am the owner and sole person that manages.

I had no idea the type of direction I needed to head in for my website to become a reality and Mendel Sites helped me every step of the way. I needed to create a website from scratch, get set up with plugins and learn how to operate back-end analytics.

After launching our website built by sam, we saw 10,000 visitors in our first month and over 100,000 within the six months. The information was easy to access, allowing consumers to enjoy their experience with our material.

We spoke over email and phone calls mostly. The work I requested was pretty straightforward to Sam and after he went in-depth with me on what I exactly, he was able to execute with ease. Everything was laid out for me.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were super professional and extremely honest. Sam provided good feedback that my ideas weren't going to be the best for the website, and his knowledge was needed. Overall, I trusted Sam, and the fact that he was super quick and reliable with communication made everything more comfortable.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I can't think of anything really. He answered all my questions and for things that I needed to do on my own, he would send me "how-to videos" which were above and beyond. I would say for him to keep doing him!

We've had a few projects where we needed some help from other agencies to implement very complex functionalities, and MendelSites has done a great job executing on them.
