HoloGear – Glowing Holographic Football at Night
Glowing Holographic Football at Night in Austin Texas. We made drone history! Drone History: Shooting holographic reflective material is no easy task, but add in shooting it from an FPV Drone and we had set ourselves up for one huge challenge. Initially, we thought we would be able to just put a light on the ground and point it directly at the football so that the FPV drone could visibly pick it up. However, after testing camera angles, lights, and picture profiles we realized that when shooting holographic material the light source and the camera lens angle have to be pointed in the same direction and degree. Even if the light source was at 180 degrees and the camera lens was pointed at 175 degrees, the camera would not be able to pick up the holographic material. After a couple of weeks of testing, we finally decided we needed to mount a Lumecube to the bottom of the FPV drone. We flew the FPV drone at night with the light on to capture the unique holographic reflective material of the HoloGear football; an unprecedented maneuver that highlights the true glory of this breakthrough product. Not only were we able to capture the holographic material with a white light source, but we were able to integrate multicolor light sources into the shoot, all while filming from the Onewheel!

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder of a mobile app.
What challenge were you trying to address with Media Pouch?
We were trying to drive traffic to our site and create conversions with a video.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had a vision for what we wanted with the video, and we provided the script. Media Pouch’s main responsibility was providing the actual filming services. Along the way, they provided feedback on what shots would look best and other guidance like that, but most of the creative work was done on our side.
What is the team composition?
Ryan (Media Pouch) was my main point of contact, though I worked with another team member as well.
How did you come to work with Media Pouch?
My partner found Media Pouch through a Facebook group.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about $1,500 with Media Pouch.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project took place in December 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We weren’t displeased with the results of Media Pouch’s work, though unfortunately, it didn’t drive what we were looking for. This was our first time working with video producers, so we might not have been as clear as we could’ve with what we wanted, but the final product came off as more of an infomercial than we wanted.
How did Media Pouch perform from a project management standpoint?
Ryan is definitely a personable, driven person. He was always in touch with us and brought a lot of energy to the engagement.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Working with Ryan was the best aspect of our partnership with Media Pouch. He’s willing to outwork most people.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They should focus on developing their video editing skills, though they weren’t bad. We weren’t expecting to be wowed given what we paid, and in the end, we weren’t wowed.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Keep communication open—they’ll want to be in touch with you and ask questions. As long as you know what your vision is, Media Pouch will try their best to make sure they get it right.
