Please describe your company and your position there.
I was the Manager of Membership & Marketing for an educational and membership-driven Nonprofit based in Washington, D.C.
For what projects/services did your company hire Media Cause?
We hired Media Cause to analyze our current SEO standing, manage and write copy for day-to-day social media strategy on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. As well as manage a bi-monthly membership newsletter and update our homepage, main menu, and footer.
How did you select this vendor?
We explored non-profit-focused full-service firms and selected Media Cause after an inquiry call and 2 calls with previous clients of theirs.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
Our first few months with Media Cause began with an audit of our current email, social media, and website strategy before they made general recommendations for updates to our strategy. At that point they also took over the day-to-day management of our social media platforms and began writing our membership newsletter.
We also received both monthly and quarterly reports on our progress toward strategic goals and analysis of our audience's engagement with our content. When it came time to update our homepage, we chose to tack on an expanded scope of work to our existing contract with Media Cause to include web design and additional graphic work.
What was the team composition?
I worked closely with an account manager, as well as specialists in different disciplines like SEO, social media, graphic design, and copywriting.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We saw a measurable increase in our ability to identify and target our audience types through their analysis, plus a meaningful ability for our team to pass off work to Media Cause and free up our calendars for other projects. We also increased our SEO ranking on key pages.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The Media Cause team was highly responsive via email and collaborative in bi-weekly meetings, in addition to meetings on an as-needed basis. They also established structures including agendas, and evergreen documentation for us to partner with each other without requiring emails or meetings.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The Media Cause team is extremely flexible, maximizing their ability to meet our needs. They pivot toward strategic changes at our company, and capture or voice in copy writing.
Is there any area for improvement or anything that could have been done differently?
We saw some turnover in the social media copywriters, who would need additional editing on our end as they joined the team.
The client has a better insight into their target market, has a higher SEO ranking on certain key pages, and saves time to do other projects. Media Cause is responsive via email and has established a documentation workflow. Their work flexibility impresses the client in meeting their needs.
