I'm the owner of a structural and civil engineering firm.
For what projects/services did your company hire MEC IT Services?
We hired MEC IT Services to migrate our filing system to a cloud based system. They also helped us migrate our email accounts, including calendars, contacts,, etc) to a different provider.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We researched various companies and they showed expertise and trustworthiness. This was key as we have very sensitive client data from years of work.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
We initially discussed our needs and wants from the new system. We also discussed our current system and how we utilize it. MEC IT recommended a Microsoft based cloud system that could be scaled up with Azure as the company grows. They then proceeded to migrate us to the new system on a prescheduled day and time to reduce our down time.
We were back up and running almost seamlessly in a matter of a couple of days. They even helped us with some issues we had with our mobiles integration with the new system. We are so happy with the result and the new capabilities.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Drew Quinn and Matt Cash worked with us throughout the whole process. Drew really went above and beyond to help us understand the new system and make sure we can take advantage of all its features.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The new cloud system has been a great success so far. We now have traceability of the data, version control and recovery of files throughout the entire life cycle of out projects. We also have the possibility of easily and securely sharing files with our clients through various forms. But the biggest success has been how well integrated it is with our smartphones which has become essential in Site Inspections and communications with clients.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They have a very reliable team that are always available and helped immediately. Some of our employees have needed support and Drew has been there to help and resolve any issue in a very timely manner.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I was really impressed on how quickly they set up everything and respond to our support requests.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Not that I'm aware of.
