Our client, the sales director of a large corporation in the service and manufacturing industry, knew that in order to compete effectively, he must first focus on internal innovation.
The company’s brand is well recognized, its customers and business partners appreciate the cooperation model, high-quality products, and excellent service. Secure communication through a dedicated portal allows them to freely place orders, receive cost analysis (value-based sales), and cost optimization consultations. A large team of 60 Key Account Managers is responsible for the sale of products and services, so the efficiency and quality of the entire process are extremely important.
Recognizing the huge dynamics of the industry and the potential in acquiring new customers, the company's strategy assumed further expansion and development. The board decided to invest in the Microsoft Power BI tool for interactive visualization and business analysis. Unfortunately, a clear drop in sales KPIs was noticed. Our client, a global manufacturing brand, encountered difficulties in its purchasing processes. Having no appropriate advanced technological solutions, the company was not able to monitor the prices of its products, components, and ingredients on an ongoing basis. As a consequence, it could not automatically forecast the behaviors of market prices which, due to the specificity of mass production, was the key to maximizing profits.
The team worked on distributed Excel files, without defined standards and adequate security. That resulted in the poor quality of the data, lack of controls, and unreliable financial forecasts. Inaccurate and inconsistent data uploaded to the SAP system also caused difficulties in the analysis of process efficiency and potential savings.
The board identified the six biggest problems in the purchasing department:

- shortage of staff and their low motivation,

WHAT CHALLENGES DID OUR CLIENT FACE?
Do you know any examples of companies in which an army of employees enter data into the system while having the pressure to make it on time because the board and management staff are waiting for reports? That scenario happened in our client's HR department. Every day, for five hours, a dedicated team performed tedious work of entering data from e-mails, Excel or PDF files, and traditional documents.
The management board and direct superiors were fully aware that the productivity and commitment of employees had been gradually decreasing. Describe the project in detail.
The first phase of the project was focused on research and interviews of the buyers and other experts involved ( including internal IT department). Mazaj has managed few workshops in order to identify the needs, understand the gaps in the current WoW and system solutions. In the next stages of the project the team was focused on developing the solution which would satisfy the expectations of the customer. The new technical solution ( cloud based ) and processes have been created.
What was the team composition?
IT, external consultant of the customer, buyers, finance department, logistics experts and Mazaj in the lead.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The outcome of the project is a strictly confidential information directly linked with P&L of the company, so we cannot share the details.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The most successful part of the project was and is driven by the great mutual understanding between Mazaj and the customer. We expierenced good and fact based discussions, where not everybody was happy about the changes proposed. The most valuable cooperation is when the biggest challenge becomes the great opportunity. This is what Mazaj managed to push through in our company.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They are open-minded; they challenge and question the obvious. Their speed was impressive and their ability to find the solution in any area which requires the change: no matter how difficult and complex it seems from the first sight.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Be better prepared to work with the big companies in terms of beurocracy and time needed to push the project through. Agree the timings upfront, so everybody feels the pressure.

I am the President of the Silesian Voluntary Water Rescue Service and a Member of the General Board of WOPR. Our goal is to save people and water rescue in the broadest sense.
For what projects/services did your company hire MAZAJ?
We had a security and database problems. MAZAJ helped us recover the data as well as transport it to new systems. We were under great time pressure. In a very short time they managed to recover key data, export it for us as well as secure it.
What were your goals for this project?
Unfortunately, I can't say too much for reasons of data security. MAZAJ has created for us a solution that allowed us to transfer data from one system to another. This information was crucial for our operations.

Private recommendation, a friend of mine contacted us.
Describe the project in detail.
The total working time was about 6 months. During these 6 months we had a couple of meetings, three of them were physical, each of which was attended (in total) by four people. During these meetings we consulted the plan and direction of the project. Very fast and efficient communication from their side.
What was the team composition?
As I mentioned, the team consisted of a total of 4 people, although there were no full-time employees in the team. From what I remember, there were 8 people involved in total. What's important, the meetings took place every day, I was very impressed by the way the project was run. Very, very structured.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have finished the project, but we see an opportunity for further cooperation for the future. We have an ongoing discussion about projects for 2020-2021.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Thanks to the daily meetings, we were able to monitor the progress of work on an ongoing basis, so there were no ambiguities. I must admit that it was the first time we worked like this, it was also very engaging for us. Luckily, it also brought good results.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Above all, speed and efficiency, thanks to which we were able to work on something that we have not been able to recover for many, many years. It is also worth mentioning their excellent communication skills, project management and generally easy approach to doing business. The technical topics were explained in a very friendly way.
