Introduce your business and what you do there.
I own two restaurants in Berlin.
What challenge were you trying to address with MartonMedia?
They’re helping me promote one of my restaurants over social media. I used to do my own social media, but Facebook is getting more complicated, so I needed some professional assistance.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, MartonMedia was taking some photos, posting a few times a week on our platforms, and responding to comments and messages. When COVID-19 hit, I needed help with directing paid ads to a target audience and understanding Facebook ads.
They do some photos, but I create my own content, including a few videos with a colleague who works in TV and film production. MartonMedia then promotes the content and also has input on how to structure our advertisements to meet restrictions.
What is the team composition?
I’ve only worked with Martin (Founder & Digital Marketing Specialist). We’ve been in contact since the beginning. He’s told me he’s started to grow and take on more employees, though.
How did you come to work with MartonMedia?
Martin posted on a gastro network's Facebook page that he could help with social media. I contacted him straight away.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve spent about €3,000–€3,500 (approximately $3,400–$3,900 USD).
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The last advertising campaign — which had a video created by my colleague and me — got 15,000 views. We also saw the business get busier. It’s hard to directly attribute the campaign to that, but I do think it had a significant impact.
How did MartonMedia perform from a project management standpoint?
We’re in close contact: we meet in person and chat on the phone. I ask for general advice, and Martin has been very helpful even if that’s not part of the job. I look at whatever he’s going to post and collaborate on what he’s going to write. It’s a good working relationship. MartonMedia is always professional.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s their responsiveness. When I ask questions, MartonMedia always has an answer. When I give feedback, he always takes it on. When we do photos, he tells me what he thinks should be in the photo, how to do it, and how to make the food look good and marketable. The results are outstanding. He also does little things like replying to comments on Instagram and going to other pages to comment and generate interest. I’d never done that. I appreciate that attention to detail.
Are there any areas they could improve?
My posts have a certain voice with a certain humor. Martin doesn’t always have the same tone. but that’s something I can correct. It’s not a big problem.
Any advice for potential customers?
If you have a good product, let MartonMedia show you how to present it well. Take their advice.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a project manager for a market research organization.
What challenge were you trying to address with MartonMedia?
We were doing a conversion study regarding PPC. We needed a team to help with that.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The conversion study was to see how well a new product would perform with different advertisement campaigns.
We set up PPC campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, and Google ads. They did Facebook ads, including video and images. The content was created by a designer, but the team helped with coordinating and advising on compliance checks for the different medias.
What is the team composition?
I worked with Martin (Founder/PPC Management).
How did you come to work with MartonMedia?
I posted on a Facebook group, looking for freelancers in our region. They had the best response to the ad.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about €1,700 (approximately $2,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from May 2020–June 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They tracked analytics. We monitored the conversion metrics, including how many people converted to the website, differentiated by gender and age, as well as checking out the interests on Facebook and Google.
How did MartonMedia perform from a project management standpoint?
They did very well. They were responsive and available.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They understood the urgency of the project and always responded very quickly. That has not been our experience with other companies in the past.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, we’re very satisfied.

E-Commerce Dev & Marketing for Fashion Brand

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CMO of a retail business.
What challenge were you trying to address with MartonMedia?
We needed marketing efforts for our e-commerce store.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our objective was to get rid of our last stock of clothing because we shut down our website.
What is the team composition?
Martin (Founder) was our main point of contact.
How did you come to work with MartonMedia?
We found them on Google. The way they communicated and solved our problems was really professional.
How much have you invested in them?
It was around $5,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The engagement lasted from November 2019–March 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The project went very well. MartonMedia knew what they were doing in terms of content, and the sales funnel was very effective.
How did MartonMedia perform from a project management standpoint?
Their communication was very good, and they were very organized. However, the timeline was okay. Their project management style and how they fit everything into the schedule was great.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their performance marketing and approach were impressive. I really liked their corporate identity and that they do marketing activities for super big brands. They’re into sustainable brands. MartonMedia is different from other agencies. Their performance was really good and one of the best I’ve experienced so far.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can’t think of anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be precise about what you want because they can best help you only if you give them as much information as possible. They know what they’re doing and the more information they get, the better their work will be.
In the last couple of weeks we worked with them, we thought they knew everything but then we had an internal meeting and found out they didn’t know some crucial information about our target group. It was probably our mistake, but we then provided them with the needed information. If I was going to work with them again, I’d pass on a lot more information.

SMM & Facebook Advertising for Restaurants Company
"He’s taken initiative and asked questions he didn’t have the answers to."

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the managing director and owner of La Lucha restaurant.
What challenge were you trying to address with MartonMedia?
To manage all our social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram. We were already doing it, so we wanted them to improve on it and gain more followers so we could have a greater impact with social media.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They created content for our Facebook and Instagram accounts. For Facebook, they were targeting ads. They came in once a week to take photos as well. In the course of managing our social, they responded to comments we received, unless they were people asking specific questions and then we would take care of it.
What is the team composition?
As far as I know, the company is a one-man-band.
How did you come to work with MartonMedia?
He’s a friend of one of the managers at my restaurant.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $5,000–$10,000 annually with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since March 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our total following on Instagram grew a lot, and it grew faster than it had been growing. Our photos get more likes too. On Facebook, his inclusion of “reserve now” in our adds was definitely successful in quantitative terms. We started getting a lot more reservations through those ads.
How did MartonMedia perform from a project management standpoint?
This work is pretty regular, we didn’t have any big projects. He always delivered on time though, and we haven’t had any problems with his organization. We communicate over WhatsApp and phone calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s the fact that he provides the whole package of advertising targeting, content creation, and taking the photos themselves. Most of the time, I feel like you have to create the content yourself or hire a professional photographer separately.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, not really. I’m pretty happy with everything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I don’t have anything specific. He’s taken initiative and asked questions he didn’t have the answers to. If you’re a restaurant manager and have a lot on your schedule, he takes the work off your plate.
