The project began with talking to the business development team who understood our company vision. From that point the team made a decision which elements of the existing website are important and what changes can be highlighted. Under the website development process they also added new service pages and blogs to classify the look of our client’s business. In the later stage, the team handled the upgradation of project pages and testing the website for any bugs or errors. The functions of the website are regularly being tested to match the personality of the company.

We started off working with the project leader and the lead developer. They walked us through the plan of shifting the website. After working on the strategy, the activities were handled by the web development head and testing engineers.

The web development task has been very smooth throughout the time period. The new version of the website is fast and authentically pleasing. It has improved in terms of the website loading time and the security features have made the store more secure. Apart from that the visitors are leaving positive feedback on the display and ease of navigation from one product to another. The new shopify developed website has an integrated cart system which allows the users to checkout and make payment easily. The web pages have been updated with market relevant topics and keywords which have already gained traction on the search engine.

We discussed strategies and plans of action with the team once every 2 week on Slack and Zoom. The agenda for each meeting was laid down during the call and a flow of communication between the lead and our team was maintained. The updates on how the features are performing were analysed using a tool and its report was delivered to us via email.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The communication approach was one their biggest assets. We only had to contact the project leader regarding any issue or concerns, the rest was taken care of by the team. The issues we had were always addressed before we discussed the succeeding processes.

No, we enjoyed working with the team.

One of our clients wanted to re-develop their eCommerce store.It was built with Shopify. As we don’t offer Shopify development, we thought of outsourcing it to an agency that specializes in Shopify development.

The work began with extensive research about the client’s business and their competitors. Before they got started, we had quite a few meetings - as we wanted to ensure we explicitly convey our client’s vision and goals with this project. They completely redesigned the website with email popups, cart optimization, and a smooth UI/UX. As the project needed overall testing and viability, Mango projects also ran tests to ensure the functioning of the store. As our client already had an existing website, the team took the responsibility to migrate all of our data into the new design with appropriate visual changes. After testing the website efficiently it was made live.

There were around 8 people who were handling the front and end back end process. We were briefed about the deliverables by two people leading the project. The other two people took care of testing the website and making appropriate changes. The other four members were in loop with us constantly to note down necessary elements of the website.

The new website proved to be efficient with its UI/UX which made many users stay till the last point of transaction. The client wanted to increase the sales - it was also achieved due to the intuitive design and seamless payment experience. The time spent by customers on our website increased which was the result of user friendly design.

The project manager took through every step of the change and gave us the details as to how the tone, color and UI of the website will help in creating a credible image of our company. We had timely discussions every week to know about the status of the project. If any element did not work or we did not like it, it was resolved over a quick call. The project manager along with key members of the project communicated all the details over a skype call and sent formal notifications via email.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The company was keen to deliver customized solutions depending on the client’s market position and business requirements. What stood out for this company was that they were not hesitant to give better suggestions. With their expertise with Shopify, they ensured this project was successfully taken care of.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

So far the experience was smooth and we are happy with how they kept the chain of communication error free.

We wanted to create our store based on shopify where we can sell our products. The aim was to reach the audience at a global level by developing a robust and secure store. The design of the store involved a lot of complicated elements so we wanted a platform that could integrate all the necessary features smoothly. In order to accomplish the project meticulously, we outsourced it to Mango Projects.

The development of the webstore was done on Shopify. The team explained to us the features of the platform and what elements were critical to our store. Based on the given knowledge they integrated payment gateway, UI/UX features, sign-in/sign-up via OTP, email pop-ups and chatbots. The add-ons helped in maintaining a sophisticated image of the company. Shopify store was used as the base of starting of all the activities which made most of the tasks of projects easy to execute.

We worked with a lot of people during the entire project. The very first interaction took place with the team of business developers who took notes on the vision of our company. After that we had a team of expert shopify developers and a project leader handling end-to-end activities.

The store aligns with the personality of our company. The look and feel of the store resonates with our ideal prospects. It takes about only 1-2.5 seconds for the store to load. Our beta users are happy with the overall user experience. Rest we are still in the stage of tracking the performance. The data regarding traffic and conversion are yet to be measured. The store will be live in 2 weeks from now.

We used Microsoft teams as our communication platform and scheduled calls once every 2 weeks. The team was proactive and agile when it came to handling complex features of Shopify. They made sure that we understood the logic behind adding each element and explained them in simple terminology.

The team of Mango projects put great efforts in communicating the activities being performed. Not only did they complete the project on time, but were also very detail oriented during the testing process. The team has invested a good amount of time in tracking the performance and rectifying the store for bugs and errors.

No, everything was executed as per the plan.

In the first two weeks, they analyzed our target audience, competitors, and understood our market. Post that, their team presented three designs of the store from which one was finalized and implemented. They also integrated several useful features like email popups, OTP login, abandoned cart emails, social media login, PDF invoice via email, etc. These features are very useful and go a long way in improving the overall shopping experience. The store they developed is secure, and reliable. It can seamlessly accept payments and consistently delivers a great UX. That was all we needed.

The team varied over the course of time. Initially, their business development executive briefed us about their services, and how they can help us. Later on, we were assigned a project manager who took care of all our needs. We also worked with a few designers, developers, and QA engineers.

The store is very well designed and performs just fine. It has automated the entire buying cycle of our customers. Starting from when they place an order until it’s delivered, everything is automated and works seamlessly. As of now, we have released it only for a handful of beta users so there aren’t any numbers that I can share but I am very optimistic about its performance once it’s live for everyone.

The project was managed efficiently. We had weekly calls and daily emails for sharing updates and we tracked the project via Jira. Additionally, for communication, we used emails and slack.

They are agile and adaptive. Their team quickly learned about our business and developed a store that perfectly resonates with our target audience. Their communication, project management, quality of work, all of it was up to the mark. We certainly had a great time working together.

As of now, they are testing the store to ensure everything is working just right.

I worked with their eCommerce specialist who guided us through the project and provided valuable suggestions from time to time. Apart from him, we also worked with their team of Shopify developers and a UI/UX expert.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The beta version of the store looks really good. Starting from the design to the features - everything is just how we thought it would be. They worked really hard to migrate all the data from my old store to the new one while maintaining the essence of it. There were a lot of challenges along the way but their team always came up with some really good ideas to make things work. I am impressed by their passion and dedication to get even the minute details right.

If we talk about the communication, they were proactive. I never had to take any follow-ups as they proactively kept me informed about everything they were up to. We managed our project via Jira, and used email/slack for communication.

Overall, it has been great working with them. What I am most impressed with is their dedication and attention to detail. They not only understood our requirements but also created a store that resonates with our vision. I also appreciate them being transparent with the communication and project management.

I’m the director of operations at Locorum London, an e-commerce rewards platform supporting local businesses in Canada. 

What challenge were you trying to address with Mango Projects Inc.?

We integrate many different vendors into our e-commerce store, and we wanted to automate payments to those vendors based on a commission structure. 

We have a software that automatically generates invoices for the specific commission that is associated with each order, and we wanted to pay that out to the vendors automatically after a specific return period was passed. Our challenge was in developing a solution that would allow us to do that. 

What was the scope of their involvement?

Mango helped us develop an API structure with PayPal mass payouts, so that our software could automatically pay vendors into their PayPal accounts.

At the start of the project we had a consultation phase, where we presented them with the project. Mango came back to us with a timeline, potential solution, and cost estimate, which we approved and they began working. 

During the development period, they consulted with us as well as with the other software providers in order to basically pull the API calls from the software provider and have it function. They integrated it with PayPal and Jetti. 

Once the algorithm was written, we went into a testing phase, which went well. From there, Mango worked directly with the software provider to get the solution live.

We were working with Ketan (Founder), who was our project manager, and a lead developer.

They were referred to me by another CEO in the tech space.

The total development cost was around $6,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from September–November 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

From a time-saving standpoint, the impact of Mango’s work has been substantial. The time it would take our staff to individually pay and transfer invoices would be, at scale, multiple people per day working on it all the time. The cost and time savings from the development are almost incalculable. 

How did Mango Projects Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

I have nothing but great things to say about Mango. Especially in terms of communication and being committed to the timeline, they were excellent. The development team was very committed to delivering constant updates through the project manager, which was very valuable to us. 

The team is always available for meetings. If we ever need to change something, they’ll turn it around within 24 hours. From a quality of work perspective, Mango stands behind everything they do. If there’s an issue or a glitch, they’ll fix it immediately.

We use Slack to communicate and Asana for task completion. We also do some emailing back and forth as needed. Overall, they deliver excellent customer service.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We appreciate their willingness to work within the platforms we’re using, even if it’s not what they use within their own business, in order for us to stay within our workflow. That’s pretty unique from a contractor standpoint, and it’s very much appreciated.

Also, Mango’s communication is really strong. With other developers, we might not hear anything for weeks about our project. Mango stands out in updating us constantly, even with short messages. They’ll often share updates on tasks midway through, so we can monitor progress through the project, which is awesome.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have nothing negative to say. That’s why we continue to work with them on these projects.

Be very diligent and detailed in your requirements. If you present to them exactly what you’re looking for and your expectations, Mango will definitely deliver.

The overall quality of Mango’s work is exceptional. We rely heavily on these websites functioning properly, particularly in regards to user experience, and Mango has delivered. 

Everything we’ve asked of them has been completed, and they’ve gone above and beyond the call of duty by making additional recommendations. Their experience with the platform has been a huge benefit, as have the suggestions they’re able to make as a result of it.

They’ve made time for us with meetings, communication has been fantastic, and they’ve integrated themselves into our project management system through Slack and Asana. The project was underway when I joined the company. A colleague within the company recommended Mango after previously using their services. Our organization hired them on the basis that they would be fast and affordable.

My team contacted Mango in August, and we completed the project in December 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

One measure of success was time, and the project was delayed by about three weeks. As I inherited the project, I’m not sure why that happened. The second metric was the overall quality of their work, and Mango made basic errors.

We provided them with a full design but had to ask them for adjustments in the end. For example, their team weirdly spaced the images and the website didn’t translate onto mobile devices. When I minimized or maximized the site using the magnifying glass, everything became unaligned too.

Mango also weirdly coded the website, which we know because our lead designer and I have CSS and HTML experience. They coded the website in a way that would make it hard for us to make adjustments on our own. However, their team was responsive and jumped into any adjustments we requested. They had good follow-up customer service.

How did Mango Projects Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

Before I came on board, we didn’t have a person leading the project. There were issues with deadlines. Once I came on board and structured the project, it was fine. We primarily communicated with them through Slack and email. They were quick.

What did you find most impressive about them?

All in all, their communication and costs were good. It was great talking to the people behind the project, and their team had a great attitude towards the different changes that we needed to implement. However, the quality of the work was lacking.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t know how they’re coding websites. Their method may work for a small company, but it wouldn’t work for an enterprise-level B2B company. In hindsight, it had a poor fit.

What challenge were you trying to address with Mango Projects Inc.?

I was trying to create a beta version of my app. We were testing the market and needed to have a development team in place. We couldn’t do it internally so we had to outsource it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve worked with us to create the beta version of the app. We scoped out the work with their team. As far as I know, they’ve developed using TypeScript, React Native, and Expo.

I’d known Ketan (Founder) already, so we hired them to do the development work. I knew he’s a great person who is hardworking and dedicated, so I was trying to find a way for us to work together.

When it came time to create the beta version of the app, I knew he’d do a great job and be conscious that we didn’t have a massive budget since we aren’t externally funded as a startup. The fit was great and they were cost-efficient.

We started working together in around December 2018. We’re working to do a bit more development in the Fall, but because of COVID-19, we’re unsure what it will look like. 

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We really wanted the beta app to be functional and testable, which they more than accomplished. We’ve heard so many stories of how beta apps can be glitchy, but we’ve had no glitches at all for months on end. The app is fully functioning and we don’t receive any complaints because the foundation is built really well. Even from day 1, all of the feedback has been positive and impressed that it’s a beta app. They did a really good job. 

How did Mango Projects Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

They have a good workflow — it is nice to manage the project with them. There’s so many stories about how things can go wrong in developing an app, but that never happened with us. Nothing is ever delayed and it’s been smooth. We use Asana to manage the project. All of our deadlines have been met and they’ve been very involved in managing the project between our teams. 

Our tech partner has a very high standard for communication through GitHub and recording what’s been done, so that’s one area of project management that could have been improved. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re just great people to work with. When a situation came up where someone from the team could no longer work on the project, and they instantly filled the role — we didn’t skip a beat and the team was never compromised. Their ability to manage the project is just great and we appreciate that aspect. They’re also really great, technically speaking. 

We never have to worry about how they’re running their team and the workflow never gets delayed. We can be certain that the deadline will be hit within a reasonable plus or minus amount of time, as compared to month-long delays from other vendors. Even if something comes a day later than the deadline, they explain why and it’s always completely fine. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing would be the point about documentation through GitHub for our tech partner. It also would have been our tech partner’s preference to build the product on Django, but they weren’t very familiar with it so we went with Laravel, which we were completely fine with.

I’m the co-founder and head of product at Certain. We are a human risk intelligence platform, so we do background checks and find information about people to assess risk in pre-employment, insurance, lending, and tenant screening.

Mango projects developed our MyCRC product. We had an idea that there was a segment of consumers in Canada that wanted to run background checks on themselves, and we needed a development partner to help us come up with a solution to offer them.

They used a bunch of different technologies to help us deliver our product, including everything from WordPress for the MVP and connecting that to our existing API integrations to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend and Python and Django for the backend. The final product was a web portal that allows consumers to view the results of a background check conducted on themselves.

We only had one main point of contact for the project that all of our communication was able to flow through.

I looked at a bunch of different providers but decided to work with them because of their reputation and my familiarity with their founder.

On this specific project, we started working in July 2019 and are continuing to work together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’ve worked with them for many years because of the consistent affordability and quality of their services. Any time I need to test a hypothesis, they are able to provide a solid, fast solution for my MVP that I can then take and build in house.

With this particular project, they were able to build a solution in two weeks and we managed to scale that from zero to handling a few hundred thousand dollars a month in revenue before we even considered touching the foundation that they had built. To be able to build a product that can deliver that high of a return on investment is absolutely incredible.

How did Mango Projects Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Slack as our primary communication tool, so that was the primary way that our engineers and account managers communicated with the team members on their side of the project.

They have always been super responsive there, so we’ve never had any problems with communication or being able to meet the deadlines that we set out of the beginning of our work. Any time they say they’re going to deliver something it is there on the day they promised without fail.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their key strength is the ability to pare things down to an MVP that works at the most basic level in order to help a developer prove a concept. That is something that a lot of dev shops don’t do.

A lot of people will try to sell you on a full development process when you just want to test the market, and Mango Projects provides that capability completely. They are a fantastic partner for any startup because of that capability.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I really don’t think there’s anything they need to improve. If anything, they should charge more, because the things they are able to accomplish are really excellent.
