I researched on LinkedIn and read reviews. I personally connected with Phillip since he is also a writer and I enjoyed his sense of humor.

Mandel Marketing I appreciate Phillip helping me to move forward in my business. He reviewed my content and helped me to put it in a format that was relatable, and my potential clients could connect with. He showed off my content to show that I am an expert in my field and showcased my gifts, skills, and talents. They cleaned up my social media and website and made it easy for me to manage the ongoing day-to-day activity. They took my content and added to it so that it was professionally displayed. They also helped me to take baby steps to get comfortable with social media.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
Chris Perri Law is a boutique criminal firm based in Austin, Texas. We practice statewide and we focus on criminal defense, both at the trial level and at the post-conviction level. For instance, if someone has been incarcerated and feels like they were wrongfully imprisoned, we try to help them as well. We are a family-owned business, and I came on to help with marketing operations.
What challenge were you trying to address with Mandel Marketing?
We were looking to grow our business so we connected with Mandel Marketing for some guidance.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Mandel Marketing first helped us explore our brand in a deeper way. We already had a logo and a website, so they guided us through the process of uncovering how we want to approach our marketing, what differentiates us from our competitors, and who our target audience is. They had us compile a lot of data and thoroughly examine our past clients to inform our strategic marketing decisions and align different opportunities with our core identity.
At the end of that process, Mandel Marketing was able to position us as smart, compassionate, and meticulous lawyers who are all about helping people know their rights. We came up with ideas for articles that not only aligned with that mission and set of core values but also executed our SEO strategy. I wrote up the articles, and Phil (Owner) would edit them to make sure they were clear, targeted, and optimized.
Mandel Marketing also focused on paid searches, earned media, and other strategies to get our name out there. They provided Google Ads and social media marketing services as well as some sales coaching to make sure that we were getting in front of potential clients for the right niche legal practices.
What is the team composition?
We mostly work with Phil, who’s our main point of contact. He coaches us and coordinates our advertisements. Another member has recently joined in to help us with the social media aspect of the project.
How did you come to work with Mandel Marketing?
Phil and I went to grad school together and met in a creative writing program. I knew that he did advertising and was successful in his work at our local paper in Austin, so I’ve kept in touch with him since. Around the same time that I needed support, he was moving into this new role, so I reached out.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around January–February 2020. Our partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve seen a massive improvement. Mandel Marketing has been so helpful and essential to the process of coming up with a marketing plan. The amount of visitors to our website has increased ten-fold. Getting people to our website has also helped double our profit.
How did Mandel Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?
Mandel Marketing’s services are very tailored. They really take the time, especially in the beginning, to understand who we are. Everything that we’re currently doing has stemmed from that identity that we dove into. Criminal defense is serious, sensitive work, and their team has been very mindful of making sure that we’re marketing ourselves in the most authentic way to our potential clients.
We communicate through email and phone. We also use Zoom from time to time.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I feel like we can really trust Phil. He listens to me and advises me on which of the many marketing avenues we’ve tried were not bringing in the best ROI. He supports our decisions and always takes into consideration how we feel towards certain ideas or strategies of his. We’re a small business, and where we put our dollars counts. Having someone that we can trust, like Mandel Marketing, is everything.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can’t think of anything at this time. We’ve been so happy with their help.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Take the time to get a really clear picture of who you are and what your business is, even if you think you already know it. I think that will help you focus your efforts and be more productive with Mandel Marketing.
