They provided us with a detailed project plan and regularly sent us reports on what had been already done. It was easy to communicate with them, we could write to their manager anytime and get answers to our questions. To communicate, we used WhatsApp, email, and Skype.

We hired them to help us develop a custom backend and a hybrid mobile app for our project. To create a mobile application that would have all the features of the web version.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I used my network to explore software development teams that were available to take on our task. The shortlist included four companies, and I conducted interviews with each team to make a more informed choice. The Managed Code team seemed to best understand our project needs and requirements, and, what’s more, they made valuable suggestions right at the initial interview. I guess these were the deciding factors.

After we approved them as our mobile app development partner, we organized a kick-off meeting where we discussed our goals, defined the project scope and timeline, selected the tracking tool, etc. The team at Managed Code started by creating the UI/UX design for our app. Then, we outlined the requirements for each module. When the modules and design were completed, they put together the backend and linked the application with the database. After QA and testing, our app went live.

The project management has been excellent. They provided us with access to Jira so we could always see the project’s progress. In addition, the project manager kept us updated about what had been done by sending reports every two weeks. She was very helpful and always available to answer our questions. We used Google Meet, email, and WhatsApp for communication.

We needed a cross-platform solution to help restaurants sell the remaining food and connect them with consumers willing to buy it. We needed a user-friendly, location-based application with an in-app payment feature.

I was choosing between two software development companies. I talked to both teams, and the Managed Code team appealed to me more since they seemed to better understand the project needs and made some suggestions I really liked.

The major steps included designing the interface, writing the code, and testing. We received an application that flawlessly works on desktop and mobile devices.

I directly communicated with their project manager, business analyst, and three developers, but there were more people involved — six developers in total plus a QA specialist.

The app is up and smoothly running and generates profit, what is more, it is highly rated by users. They got the job well done.

In general, Managed Code’s project management was good, it was easy to communicate with them. We used Jira to track the progress, and we communicated via email, WhatsApp, and Google Meet. It took the Managed Code team five months to build the application, as initially planned.
