Please describe your company and your position there.

Our luxury tourist hotel is based in South Korea. I am the assistant manager.

For what projects/services did your company hire Makko Digital, and what were your goals?

Makko Digital was brought on to help us in our rebranding, website redesign and SEO. Our goal was to establish our brand as the authority in the area and start ranking for major terms for our services.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We previously had another digital marketing agency that did not work very well with us. After the website was built back in 2015, they did not perform maintenance frequently and the website was not optimized for SEO. This meant we were getting very low traffic every month.

As such, we did a vendor search from a small pool of companies for a project to launch a new website. I had known Makko Digital personally and they were added to the pool. Their proposal was the most cohesive and collaborative of all we got. They also provided an amazing level of support through the project and thus convinced our executives to let us switch to them permanently.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and marking tools used.

Our engagement started by doing a vendor selection and asked each company to scope our the project to launch a new website. Makko Digital provided that scope and also set up video calls with us to talk through any of our anxiety points as well as to talk through timeline and game plan to make sure we felt supported.

We kept in touch with them after they were chosen as our vendor, both during the launch of the website and in the days that followed. They followed up on all of the necessary audits and fixes, and they talked us through additional projects we could take on in-house once they were no longer on the project.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked with Alex, the lead digital marketer and web developer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The website they have rebuilt and since continued to work on has shown triple digit growth since three months. Makko Digital was also able to assist us with Google My Business optimization and Naver Smart Place to improve our branding and visibility. We have been getting consistent bookings and contact through our website after the initial year of fixing a lot of problems introduced by the previous agency.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They are very collaborative and supportive. Marketing and content generation are separated by departments in our company. Makko Digital does a fantastic job of connecting those departments and assisting us in forming a cohesive team. They send us monthly performance reports on maintenance and analytics. Makko Digital has been consistently changing and updating contents to stay relevant on search engine's radar.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was surprised at their willingness to listen to their customer and work collaboratively on solutions, taking into consideration every minor detail.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Honestly, no. They have been an excellent vendor.
