I'm a project and team manager for a web marketing agency and I handle a team of developers that work for us in-house or through agencies.
For what projects/services did your company hire Make It In UA?
We work with Make it in UA for recruiting web developers for our team.
How did you select this firm and what were the deciding factors?
They contacted us directly and were very proactive in understanding our needs and sending us interesting profiles very quickly.
Describe the project in detail and walk through their service package.
We have been working together for about a year now and recruited two developers for long-term collaboration based on profiles they sent us. We send them our requirements and they give us a selection of 3 to 5 profiles that we can interview and then hire if they fit our expectations.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We work with one main account manager called Mirela, who's great at understanding our needs and organizing the interviews and contracts with the developers.
Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?
They have a great pool of candidates that they often renew which means more great profiles for us.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The communication is perfect with their team and they're very efficient in sending us new profiles in just a few days after we've sent them our requirements.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Our account manager is great !
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The only bad surprises we've had were out of their control, more on the candidates' sides, and even that they've handled well!

I am the COO of a seed stage tech start-up in the UK. We are using AI to build a marketplace for property.
For what projects/services did your company hire Make It In UA?
We needed to find qualified developers to test and build out our back-end and front-end, at a budget that worked for our business. To that end, we engaged MIU as our on-site recruitment partner in the Ukraine. We were looking for a company who could adapt to our ways of working and help us find full-time permanent staff in a market that was foreign to us.
How did you select this agency and what were the deciding factors?
We ran a rigorous selection process in which we invited multiple companies (15+) to apply to a mid-level engineering role within our team. We graded these applicants as we would normally, while also grading the companies themselves on their ability to select an effective candidate for us. In the process we learned that there wasn't necessarily a linear correlation between costs and development standards, and that actually hiring directly (versus going via an outsourced team) would be a better solution for us. MIU was able to adapt to our process and consistently identify strong candidates.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
We invited MIU to partner with us in building out our development team. Our initial hire was a mid-level engineer, followed by an engineering lead, a front-end and a QA.
Describe the recruitment process in detail.
We put together a standard engineering recruitment process that could also be used with local hiring. Once this was complete, we shortlisted vendors based on cost and willingness to work with us. We then had each vendor send across a shortlist of 3 candidates who went through a CV screen, code test and (in rare cases) first and second round interviews. We would then evaluate the vendor in terms of cultural fit, quality of their code (this varied widely), speed of response and willingness to engage in our processes. We have continued to evolve our recruitment process with MiU as we've hired more candidates through them, evolving the process with every iteration.
Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?
We have a very engaged engineering team that is producing excellent code at a speed and budget that works for the business.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Very good. We've continued to improve the hiring process with MIU based on feedback from our applicants and internal team. It was a productive partnership.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
MIU is responsive to feedback and happy to course correct as and when needed. They are able to meet the deadlines of the business and tend to produce strong applicants.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We've had some minor course corrections in the hiring process based on applicant feedback. As a rule, we also debrief our hires (who've come through MIU) several months after they've settled into the business. This keeps everyone honest.

We are a Swiss travel tech company developing services for accommodation booking. I'm the CEO and one of the co-founders.
For what projects/services did your company hire Make It In UA?
We had a large project coming up and needed help with recruitment.
What were your goals for this engagement?
We wanted a more "boutique" experience and guidance in the search for a candidate since it was such an important position.
How did you select this vendor?
We had interviews with several agencies and recruitment companies, both locally in Berlin and abroad. Already from an early stage, we decided to go for Make It In UA, mainly because they understood our needs and came with qualified advice regarding what we really needed from a candidate.
Since we have a need for recruiting several candidates during the course of the coming months, we searched for a partner who really understands our needs and could help us build our team on a more long term basis.
Describe the engagement in detail.
After having several meetings between Sidehide and Make It In UA, to understand our needs, they gave us a comprehensive list of selected and pre-screened candidates. They gave very good insights in each and every one of the candidates and came with qualified advice on how to proceed and why.
What was the team composition?
There was in total 4 people from Make It In UA involved as far as I know. We had close contact with two of them all through the process.
Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?
We knew that we had a tough challenge in front of us, to recruit such a specific position in a short time. We were looking for a full stack developer with experience in a specific programming language and understanding of concept and product development both from a technical perspective, a user perspective and a business perspective.
Other recruitment companies we contacted tried to propose short cuts or to divide the role into two candidates but we knew what we were searching for and the importance of finding the right candidate. Make It In UA guided us through the process from the very beginning with confidence and understood our needs.
They found the candidate we went on to hire within only a few weeks from the start. The process from Make It In UA side has been very professional, understanding and fast.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was very effective. To be honest, we have never had such a simple process ever during 20 years of entrepreneurship and recruiting of over hundred people over the years.
They understood our needs from the very beginning and gave a fair estimate about how the process will look and what to expect. We had a very limited amount of time to spend on the process (due to covid crisis and circumstances related to that) but even during these conditions, the workflow was effective.
What did you find most impressive about this vendor?
We were impressed by how much they felt like an extension of our own team during the process. Our experiences from the past with recruitment companies has been that the process is very impersonal and disconnected from the project itself. Here it was the absolute opposite.
Are there any areas for improvement?
For coming recruitments, I could see an improvement in the coding challenge procedure of the candidates - may be a premium product that provides more comprehensive testing of the candidates abilities based on our needs. This time we didn't feel we needed it but when we recruit more at scale this would be something I would like to see.

The scope was the hiring of one or 2 developper. The vendor was responsible for finding software developers that had the skills and fits the company. He helped us with interview and provide us the good candidates.
