Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the president of The Miracle Foundation, a non-profit that empowers children to reach their full potential.
What challenge were you trying to address with Magnetika?
We needed help with rebranding.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Magnetika rebranded our entire organization including new website messaging and logo. They now partner with us to strategize on drip and other campaigns. They provide us with messaging, writers, graphic design, technical website support and social media.
What is the team composition?
We work with the founder and the marketing director.
How did you come to work with Magnetika?
Magnetika’s founder knew our founder. When we became interested in rebranding, we interviewed various firms but selected Magnetika.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve worked together since June 2015.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The rebranding experience has been wonderful. We took our old website, messaging, and brand, and completely revitalized it. We now have a beautiful logo and website, which have impressed our donors. We get lots of compliments on the high-quality and appealing communications we send out.
How did Magnetika perform from a project management standpoint?
Magnetika is easy to work with and delivers on their commitments. It’s like having our own marketing team without having to hire all the various specialists. We meet with them at the beginning of the month to establish our calendar of what we want to accomplish. They then keep us updated on how many hours they’ve worked and what’s been done. We have weekly meetings with the marketing director, and my marketing manager works daily with their team.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re a one-stop shop for all of our marketing needs. They work hand in hand with our marketing manager and have excellent marketing domain experts. They’re interested in making sure their support aligns with our mission and meets our requirements. I can’t remember the last time we had to have a conversation about improving anything.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We have our own PR person so we have not considered them for this area.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Outline all of the areas of expertise you want to engage with and then work with Magnetika to align their resources with those requirements. They can provide a wide range of support for an integrated view across all of your marketing objectives.

Branding & Digital Marketing for Control System Technology
"We’re not a glamorous business—it’s manufacturing and nuts and bolts and wires—but they like the challenge of bringing that story alive."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the president and CEO of UCEC. We build custom control panels, meaning any process that needs automation, we’ll build electrical panels for it.
What challenge were you trying to address with Magnetika?
We initially hired them for some rebranding and logo design, but we later added a website redesign as well.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our company has been around since 1958, and we’ve relied on word-of-mouth to market ourselves, so we challenged Magnetika to update our marketing strategy for survival in the new millennium. We wanted to be represented the way craft brewers or artisans are—creative and accessible, as opposed to boring and out-of-touch. They surveyed our staff, compiled the answers, and worked to define who we were, and then they reflected that back to us. We thought it would be appropriate to launch our website while we visited a technology conference in Germany in April, and they had no trouble meeting that deadline. We now have two sites for two divisions of the company.
What is the team composition?
We worked closely with their founder, a marketing consultant, and a graphic designer.
How did you come to work with Magnetika?
A colleague recommended them to me when I mentioned that we needed a new website designed for us.
How much have you invested with them?
We have spent around $40,000 per year with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in 2010, and we have several ongoing projects.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our web presence and social media presence has increased substantially, and we now broadcast a consistent message. We feel we market ourselves similarly to bigger corporations that have actual marketing departments. And coincidentally, six months after our website launched, two of our competitors redesigned their websites, and when we launched our blogs, they did the same. I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
How did Magnetika perform from a project management standpoint?
Their greatest strength is their capacity to listen. They took careful notes and spent a lot of time upfront to do things correctly. We communicated mostly through email, but we would call when necessary. They were easy to work with.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They enjoy getting to know your business. We’re not a glamorous business—it’s manufacturing and nuts and bolts and wires—but they like the challenge of bringing that story alive. They have a sense of adventure.
Any advice for potential customers?
Clearly outline your project as best you can at the beginning so that they can provide the best assistance.
Magnetika revitalized the old brand and created something new and impressive. Donors are highly impressed by the new look and consistently compliment the designs and branding. The team communicates clearly and routinely provides progress updates.
