What challenge were you trying to address with MagicHire?

We needed to hire more developers because we decided to extend our tech team. Hence, we hired MagicHire to help us find new developers for us.

What is the scope of their involvement?

MagicHire’s process of sourcing candidates is very straightforward. First, they conducted market research to understand better what we were looking for. We then agreed on the salary range, provided the qualifications we were looking for in each candidate, and described to them our internal process for hiring. From there, they proceeded with the search process.

They’ve already found two candidates for us, and we’re still working with their team to find new candidates for other positions.
 
What is the team composition?

We work with four people from their team. We work with different managers for each position that we need to fill.

How did you come to work with MagicHire?

We found MagicHire through LinkedIn. We saw that they were extending their market to East Europe, so we reached out to them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $20,000 so far. 

What is the status of the engagement?

We began our partnership in August 2022, and our engagement is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

So far, MagicHire has helped us hire two people — both are still in the probationary period, but they’ve been meeting our expectations so far. We can fully answer this question when their probationary period ends. 

How did MagicHire perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been doing a great job from a project management perspective. They communicate very well, and we use an online platform for communication.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We have a position that we have been working on for four months, and we need help finding the right candidate. That being said, we think they should add more people to help speed up the process.

Any advice for potential customers?

Think about how you are going to deal with MagicHire and describe to them in detail what tools you want to use.

I’m the talent acquisition lead and HR operations manager at ProFinda, a tech startup based in the UK. Many of our developers are based throughout Europe.

What challenge were you trying to address with MagicHire?

We’re in a scale-up phase and doing a lot of hiring. Our company is currently at 60 people when a year ago we were at 20 people, so we’re growing quite quickly. I’m the only person in talent and HR and needed some support because I don’t have a background in tech recruiting specifically.

What was the scope of their involvement?

MagicHire provides us with recruitment services. They source candidates for us, do a preliminary screening, and then put them through to us to carry on with the interview process. We’ve asked that our candidates have technical skills and be a good fit for our team and company culture. So far, they’ve helped us find three resources.

I’ve spoken to about four people from MagicHire: Galyna (Lead of Recruitment Team), two recruiters, and an accounts person. 

How did you come to work with MagicHire?

They reached out to our head of HR, and there was a good connection at our first meeting. Moreover, their terms and conditions fit well within our budget, so we decided to give them a go. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested £31,000 (approximately $37,000 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2022, and our collaboration is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’ve been recruiting for 12 years, and positions can take up to two months to fill. MagicHire has found good candidates quickly, so we’ve filled positions within a month – they’ve never had a delayed project with us. Even with the start of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine, they placed someone within 30 days. Moreover, the employees they’ve sourced for us have integrated very well into our company. 

MagicHire is a pleasure to work with — they’re very responsive and nice people. The team takes the lead and asks the right questions. They get back to us really quickly, and they source quality candidates.

How did MagicHire perform from a project management standpoint?

We mostly communicate via email, though we’ve had some Google Meet video calls to kick off projects. They always get back to me within an hour or two. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with MagicHire’s level of service. Even though they’re going through hard times having to relocate due to the Russian Invasion of Ukraine, we wouldn’t know that dealing with them — they’re very professional.

No, they’ve been good.

We wanted to recruit software engineers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

MagicHire has helped us source engineering resources. Their team has used the job descriptions we provide to find qualified resources; we need candidates that can code in Scala. They’ve pre-screened all potential candidates and then sent us candidates to interview. 

How did you come to work with MagicHire?

I’d had good experiences working with Ukrainian software developers. We understood their culture and verified multiple times that we could work with developers from there. So, we teamed up with MagicHire to source candidates to expand our reach in the market. I’m now quite sure how we first found MagicHire, though. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around $10,000 with MagicHire. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement with MagicHire began in October 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

MagicHire has been able to identify candidates that meet our needs, although it took some trial and error before they found the right cultural and personal fits for our team. We’ve ended up hiring two of the candidates MagicHire found for us; we’re happy with the candidates. 

We’re not actively hiring candidates, but we’re keeping MagicHire on retainer for future sourcing. 

How did MagicHire perform from a project management standpoint?

MagicHire has been very responsive; typically, we communicate through Slack during the recruitment process. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication is excellent — they’re very easy to talk to and are good at setting expectations. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although their communication is great, sometimes I felt that MagicHire’s English-language skills could be improved. I mostly noticed that when we tried to set up internal meetings with them. However, that was a minor issue. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It is very important to know exactly what you want from your candidates before you begin sourcing, both professionally and culturally.

Tabeo is a payments and marketing platform that helps providers of healthcare improve conversion and automate processes. We have a team of 40 people and are remote first.

For what projects/services did your company hire MagicHire?

We asked MagicHire to generate leads for various Tech roles. Senior Golang Developer, Senior QA and Senior DevOps. The regional focus was initially Ukraine which now expanded to Eastern Europe.

How did you select this firm and what were the deciding factors?

Recommendation by a friend. Good value for money and credible track-record.

We use Workable and Slack. MagicHire is easy to work with and does a great job following up with people to ensure we close and/or decline candidates quickly.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

We hired 2 QA and 2 Back-End engineers. Great guys. The funnel was big but MagicHire did narrow it down to a very manageable volume :)

Effective. Usually, they needed to wait for us ;)

Great responsiveness and high level of ownership

No
