There weren’t any crashes after we launched the apps. Also, during the initial phase of communicating with clients, we got three projects for the app, which is what we care about. What I care about most is the feedback from clients, and it’s been positive.

Working with them has been an excellent experience. They’re flexible with us and made us a priority — we often finish ahead of schedule because they’re terrific with timelines as well. 

Their team also helps with enhancements and additional features that we didn’t mention at the start — they exceed my expectations. In terms of communication, we use email, Microsoft Teams, Skype, phone, and WhatsApp.

I’m the director of the company. We’re designing and developing an IoT-based smart home device. The main business goal is to provide a smart home solution for the North American market.

What challenge were you trying to address with Magespider Infoweb Pvt. Ltd.?

Initially, I was designing the firmware and website by myself. However, we didn’t have the in-house expertise for custom backend and mobile app design for Android and iOS.

The solution we were looking for here in Canada was a bit expensive based on the hourly rate, so we started looking for a company in India to help us out.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Magespider Infoweb designed a number of backend web services. They basically designed all the web service calls required to make this interaction between the mobile app and the devices. These web services talk to the mobile app, and when users interact with it, the web solution talks to the Wi-Fi-connected smart home devices.

The Wi-Fi device will act based on the user command, which was the key functionality. It’s a smart vent, and the vent can be controlled through the app. It requires a custom application that talks to the third-party thermostats, as well as Google Nest and Ecobee. We fetch the web services from them and integrate them to our custom application. Then, we analyze the end result and decide what the smart home device is supposed to do.

The key feature of this device is to provide the best home comfort experience in extreme weather. It gives you a comfortable temperature in your home, and it’ll save you money with your utility bills both with consumption and usage.

We worked with four people in total. One was the project manager, and we had two developers and a designer. There was another person as well, but he was a tester.

How did you come to work with Magespider Infoweb Pvt. Ltd.?

A friend of mine had worked with them before, and I heard that their key point was delivery. I had previous experience with an outsourced company, and they didn’t deliver on time. Also, I looked at the good reviews that Magespider had on Clutch. It was beneficial reading them.

For this phase, it was around $12,000 CAD (approximately $10,000 USD). It included the mobile app and the custom backend web application.

Our project began in May 2021, and they delivered phase one in September 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re getting a good response. We’ve pitched to investors for this product, and we’ve received good feedback from them.

The device is already performing, and beta customers are using the mobile app. With those beta customers, we will find out how the customer feels.  If we have to add any modifications or requirements in the future, we will definitely work with Magespider Infoweb.

How did Magespider Infoweb Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great at listening to requirements. They knew how to work with an IoT product and how to implement it, so it was easy for me to communicate.

We used Microsoft Teams and Monday, which was helpful for tracking all the tasks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I liked their attitude; it was really impressive. Not only did they deliver, but they also wanted to make sure that it work. Moreover, they understood that whatever system they designed, we would have to give an order for the physical product to the manufacturer.

Additionally, the best point was that they delivered on time. I told them our deadline, and they delivered as promised.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It could have been better if we’d used Zoom or any video conferencing tool. We were using Teams, but sometimes I wanted to explain different designs. They could leverage Cisco-based communication tools a bit more so that we could see their meeting room and vice versa. That way, all the team members could sit in the conference room.

I am the founder of Tell A Story. It is a social media app about telling stories and sharing them. I start a story and another person continues it. It's essentially a chapter-based writers collaboration in order to create a full story.

I needed to create an app to address the publishing and cooperation problem that I had.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The goal was to create an app and Magespider Infoweb Pvt. Ltd. did that within a three-month period. It was a smaller project based on the amount of money I had. The app allows writers to share stories and then get paid for those stories.

What is the team composition?

I don’t really know how many people they have in the company itself. I only spoke with the CEO throughout the project, so I can’t say how many people worked on the project. I told the CEO what I needed, and he was in contact with the team.

I found them on the web. I looked online for companies in India, but many seemed to be costly for a basic prototype so we went with Magespider Infoweb Pvt. Ltd..

We started in March 2020. There are some updates needed for the app so it's an ongoing engagement.

I really like the design. They kept it very simple and it is one of the most creative designs I have seen.

We mainly communicate through WhatsApp calls and email. I try to describe to them what I wanted with photos.

They should aim to know exactly how much time everything will take, and not just provide an estimate.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very precise when it comes to the details of what you want. Make a list, be very precise, and have a particular structure. I did it along the way. You can do what I did, but it might take more time.

They are flexible, but even with being flexible, there are limitations, but it depends on how much you pay. If you pay more of course they can be a lot more flexible and there are a lot more options and more storage.

I needed help building an app to bring my idea to life.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Magespider Infoweb Pvt. Ltd. developed a user-friendly mobile app. I had a logo prepared and some ideas for how I wanted it to flow. Their team worked off of those ideas to create the full platform.

Bhavin (Founder & CEO) always reached out to me before implementing something. He would give me a snapshot of what it would look like and I would either say yay or nay and try to adjust something.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Magespider Infoweb Pvt. Ltd. did a great job. The app is very simple. I had this idea of what the app should look like in my head, and Bhavin was very good at steering me towards the things that he needed at that particular moment.

After building the initial skeleton of the app, he went step by step and explained what he was doing, what he needed from me, and what he needed to know. Ultimately, we got through all the stuff that was in my head without me just throwing it all at them.

How did Magespider Infoweb Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed exceptionally well, especially given the situation. The task that I asked them to embark upon was convoluted, they didn’t know where I was going with it or why I was doing it. I think that kind of held things up, but they stayed patient and made sure that what I was getting out of it was what I was intending to get out of it.

Bhavin kept us on schedule and up to date with APKs and TestFlight. It was almost seamless. They were very open and transparent.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were very personable. With the other companies that I reached out to, and there were big names involved, I just didn’t feel like they were concerned about what I needed or what I wanted in terms of the vision that I had.

That was what tipped the scale in Magespider Infoweb Pvt. Ltd.'s favor. I didn’t want to feel like a burden when I reached out to find out what the next step is. Bhavin kept in touch with me about the project timeline.

I found them to be easy to work with and extremely accommodating. When things got rough with COVID-19, Bhavin was really understanding. His team even though they were reduced to a skeleton crew, still worked diligently on the app.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There is always room for improvement. Things could always be done faster. At one point, there was a language barrier because although Bhavin speaks English, there were words or phrases that I used that are American and it was a challenge to explain it because it doesn’t mean the same when translated. That was a task, but we got through it and worked it out.

Let them know exactly what you want to see come out of the project because they are creative and if you give them a little room to be creative, they may come up with things that you didn’t think of and they might surprise you.

I’m a project manager for a US company developing a food delivery app.

It was an end-to-end app development project, with a server and a client side.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They performed very good testing, which helped me ship the product within the given timeline. I had a three-month timeframe for the project, and they delivered two weeks early. I’m very happy with them, so I plan to use them for any extensions or new requirements.

They’ve helped me make realistic plans in terms of the effort required and set up sprints accordingly. We used Jira initially and followed a couple of sprints, but we had a crunch of short deadlines, so we skipped two sprints and went into an agile practice.

I’ve been impressed with their ability to deliver on their commitments.

Communicating with the team at the start of the project took some time. They could improve in terms of onboarding new projects and setting everything up.

It’s important to get everything clear at the start of a project, in terms of budget and timeframes. Ensure Magespider Infoweb Pvt. Ltd. understand what they’ll be developing.

We were looking for a web developer that could handle complicated programming.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The first thing Magespider Infoweb did was develop our shipping model. They’ve been working on project after project for us ever since. They've worked in PHP, WordPress, and Magento. They built an abandoned cart module, a shipping API module, an API to our accounting system, and an asset management model for WordPress. We are a translation agency that planned to build a linguists' platform.

For what projects/services did your company hire Magespider Infoweb Pvt. Ltd.?

We hired the team to help us create Veev app, a global directory of linguists based on a digital platform.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to create a roster of all linguists across the globe under one platform.

How did you select this vendor?

I’m the owner of an app company that offers digital scoring for different types of events.

What challenge were you trying to address with Magespider Infoweb?

I needed to find a new app development company after our former team developed us into a corner. They'd built our original iOS app to be impossible to update or improve internally, which tethered us to their company. When they drastically increased their rates, we were forced out. 

Our only option was to redevelop the entire app using Swift with newer technology. We’d run into customer roadblocks from being iOS only, so we requested a duplicate Android version as well.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Magespider Infoweb redeveloped our entire app using best-practice techniques and the latest technologies. At the start of the project, I provided documentation and wireframes to illustrate our concept. The frontend looks relatively simplistic, but the intricate backend involves a lot of moving parts. 

When we were pleased with the iOS version’s design and UX/UI, the team programmed the same features for Android using Java. They even suggested brand new features to include. They also created an iPad version of our app since they knew it was critical to launch on that platform.

Critically, we had a knowledge transfer to ensure our negative experience with the other vendor didn’t happen again. We conducted a code review to ensure it was using Swift.  They carefully explained how I could work with the technology independently going forward.

Our partnership with Magespider Infoweb began in 2017. We’ve been in production on both platforms since February 2018. At this point, we’re still working on new features we’d like to add. I just sent over a full wish list for them send back a quote for.

We’ve used the mobile apps Magespider delivered several times with our customers. Many users noted the increased speed and praised the new functionality. Their rapid response empowered them to our deadline despite initial obstacles with the launch. Without hesitation, the team worked late into the evenings to complete all the fixes and resolve critical problems.

Magespider Infoweb is quick to offer support and always has advice for add-ons to improve our app. I was impressed with how well they handled development and production for our iPad app. Even though it was time-consuming task outside out original scope, they built it for a minimal cost.

How did Magespider Infoweb perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated daily on Trello and used that tool to organize the entire project. Despite a language barrier, the team was responsive to outreach and often took my instructions in stride. It was always evident during development if they’d understood me clearly. Their project manager resolved this communication challenge and led all the conversations since he spoke the most fluent English. Weekly Skype sessions help ensure we’re on the same page.

What did you find most impressive about them?

MageSpider Infoweb was willing to go above and beyond to satisfy all the requirements.  At certain times I wasn’t sure they understood the task at hand, but they kept trying until they got it right. I appreciated that they rearranged their schedule to mitigate the time zone difference. At times, they woke up at 4:00 A.M. just to speak with me. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They should fully understand the requirements before jumping into development. They were so eager to develop and show me something. Sometimes I wish they'd fully understood what I was saying so I wouldn't have to request changes, but that isn't a big problem. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Giving the most detailed requirements possible will increase productivity. If I take the time to spell things out exactly really, there’s not as much back and forth

I’m the co-owner of Haggleparts, a website that helps users find and book an appointment with nearby mechanics. Users input information about their car and the issue they’re experiencing. Then we find a nearby mechanic who works with either that car or issue, send them an appointment request, and after they accept, send the users a quote. We also provide price comparison on automotive parts, specifically brands approved by the American Automotive Aftermarket.

What challenge were you trying to address with Magespider Infoweb?

We had them build our website from scratch.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Developing the website required a lot of database design, server–to–server authentication and communication, API integration, and SEO. Magespider also developed and designed the WordPress forms that we send to mechanics and users for vehicle information, appointment requests, and quotes.

What is the team composition?

I mostly interacted with project managers and technical leads, but I know there were 3–4 developers doing the frontend work. I would guess that there were a total of 5–10 people dedicated to the project.

How did you come to work with Magespider Infoweb?

My partner and I found Magespider during our online research. I met with one of their representatives directly, and within a short amount of time they had a detailed plan, timeline, and identified anything that seemed unrealistic.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them late 2016 and launched the website July 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Building a website from scratch is not easy, and they met our unique requirements; we’re very happy with the final product. They had to overcome development challenges because of the infrastructure and server limitations, but the launch went smoothly. Now we’re just doing batch and version updates that come with every development project.

How did Magespider Infoweb perform from a project management standpoint?

There were some unforeseen and unavoidable technical issues, but they worked around those. They did extra research and suggested solutions that would keep us on schedule. They provided us with regular updates on the timeline, what they were working on, and any issues or questions that arose.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their overall technical understanding was extremely impressive. They were able to take our feedback and redesign anything that was required. Their optimizations saved us a lot of money in terms of infrastructure.

More frequent detail touchpoints and status updates.

A great team, I enjoyed working with them. They developed up-front technical analysis to better understand the details and scope of the project.
