We Go.
A suburban residential home, military base, and mountainous village community. These three distinct locations were captured over the span of four days against the backdrop of Las Vegas Nevada. Pre-production and set design were crucial in telling the story, therefore were meticulously produced in order to preserve the narrative. I was most impressed by the lawn with lush grass our location manager was able to find blocks from the Las Vegas strip. Overall the combined effort of location scouting set decoration, and excellent directing by Dean Bushala, we were able to tell the stories with great care and authenticity.

The Story of Taharka Brothers
A series of six videos created for Baltimore’s best ice cream company. Built during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, safety and flexibility was the name of the game. A mixture of food and documentary-style cinematography, we were tasked with capturing the deliciousness of their product and distill the story of each of the soon-to-be owners of the company. The videos were shown at a virtual event announcing Taharka Brothers was an employee-owned company.

Under Armour | Victory Stories
Working with Under Armour on their Victory Stories series, our team traveled to Atlanta, Georgia to follow Na'Quisha Marine, a MyFitnessPal app user and student at Spelman College. Na'Quisha allowed us to follow her for a day around school, capturing her typical day of class, workout, and mediation routine. Scouting the night before the shoot, working around Na'Quisha’s busy schedule, and capturing with primarily available light were a few of the challenges throughout the production.

National Bohemian | Stop the Pollution
Oh boy, what a production! National BoOh boy, what a production! National Bohemian, a staple of Baltimore’s excellent history of local beer, partnered with Baltimore City’s Department of Public Works to create a: 30-second commercial to raise awareness about littering in the city. The scout was especially crucial on this production, making sure each location had the right light when we were filming and crafting each angle to help with the reveal of our masked hero. We decided to work with the Atlas Orion anamorphic lenses to accentuate Baltimore’s most iconic landscapes.

Copper Kitchen
Food cinematography is a personal passion of mine. It’s one of the few things you capture that you have complete control over; you can get pretty much any angle of, and taking the time to capture perfection is genuinely noticed by the viewer. For Copper Kitchen, a Baltimore-based catering company, we developed three themes around their business. Splitting our time between capturing the beauty and elegance of their food and the character and energy of the events they participate in, we were able to harness the essence of their brand in these three videos.a

American University | Washington College of Law
Captured over two shoot days, this production was fast-paced, and flexibility was key. All of the talent seen in the video were volunteers from the University. Working within everyone’s schedule, access to different rooms, and capturing the best possible lighting of each of the exteriors was crucial. We scouted the campus with light in mind knowing we would have little to no control of each room since most were active classrooms. A fast-paced edit paired with tons of different from Washington D.C. and AU’s campus created a fun and exciting product our client was excited to share with future students and alumni.

Flip Flop
This was a fun one. With Halloween approaching, our creative director wrote a script for a spec piece to shoot after hours during a slow work week. Gathered together, we found props and locations and went for it: my one and only Addy award-winning performance (but perhaps not last).

Video Production for Industrial Parts Washer Manufacturer
"The videos that he has put together are by far the best that we’ve seen done about our machines."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the marketing manager for Better Engineering Manufacturing. We are a parts washer manufacturer that serves a variety of different industries, ranging from the food and beverage industry to the automotive industry and aerospace.
What challenge were you trying to address with louis creative?
We really wanted to have more collateral on our website and on our various online platforms, but we were unimpressed with the work that our previous provider had delivered. That’s why we reached out to louis creative several years ago.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We first met a couple of times over Zoom to go over our company’s goals and budget. Louis (Director and Cinematographer) then toured our facility to see the machines. That was a crucial step since our machines are very large and technically intricate, and seeing them in person would enable him to work out which filming equipment to use, how to capture the features we wanted to highlight, and how to ultimately stitch the videos together.
Louis then produced a video for each of our different custom machines. He added in a small amount of animation and took care of the editing and audio mixing. So far, we’ve completed two videos that are both a minute and a half long.
What is the team composition?
We’ve only worked with Louis.
How did you come to work with louis creative?
We stumbled across louis creative on Clutch. We found out that he was behind some of the work that we really admired, so we decided to engage him directly.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested about $6,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We first contacted them in August 2021, and we’ve since been working together continuously.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The work that Louis has done has accomplished what we’d hoped it would. The videos have been published on our website and are attracting a lot of engagement and visitors. Even the president of our company is really happy with the output. We feel that Louise has done a wonderful job of illustrating how our machines work.
At this point in time, we plan to implement these videos on our Google Ads.
How did louis creative perform from a project management standpoint?
Louis is really great. He’s been consistently punctual when he visits our site and when it comes to his deliverables. In fact, he completed the first video in under a week.
He’s also been very easy to communicate with. Whenever we need something, he gets back to us very quickly. If we have any feedback, we can leave it on Frame.io, the editing software he uses. Overall, it's been a really fantastic experience.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We’re very impressed by Louis’s communication and cinematography skills. The videos that he has put together are by far the best that we’ve seen done about our machines.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don't have any constructive feedback.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Trust Louis because he’s a professional and has been doing this for years.

Video Production for Mechanical Engineering Contracting Firm
“Louis is a highly remarkable professional.”

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the marketing manager for Poole & Kent Corp., a large mechanical contracting and engineering firm that’s been in business since 1947. We work in the mid-Atlantic area and have a history spanning nearly 75 years. We’ve built some of the largest projects in the region related to healthcare, energy infrastructure, data centers, and even wastewater treatment plants.
What challenge were you trying to address with louis creative?
We hired Louis (Director & Cinematographer) for a video production project.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I first worked with Louis to create a video required for our presentation during an interview with a huge potential client. We wanted to showcase our in-house fabrication capabilities, along with our technical capability in the realm of modular construction. Louis, who agreed to work with us on short notice, did the videography for this interview and put together a video that could help us make a great impression on our client.
We didn’t have plenty of collateral to give because this was a quick project. As such, we didn’t give Louis any documentation other than who we were and why we were reaching out to him. Despite that, we did tell him that we hoped to capture the more progressive and innovative side of the company.
At present, Louis and I have been working together on new creative components for the company’s website, external marketing efforts for clients, and interview presentations. We’ve been working on these projects for a couple of months, and we have some other projects lined up.
What is the team composition?
I mainly work with Louis.
How did you come to work with louis creative?
We met Louis through the Maryland Center for Construction, Education, and Innovation (MCCEI), which partnered with Louis for one of their campaigns. Our CEO served on the board of the MCCEI, and Louis had to do some filming in our organization for the MCCEI. That was how we crossed paths.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $5,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in December 2014, and the partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
With minimal input, Louis has been able to capture what we hope to capture. In fact, we’ve been able to use the video he created in our first project across various other purposes.
Meanwhile, Louis is a professional that tunes in fast with the organization. Being in the building and mechanical construction engineering industry for 28 years, I’ve found plenty of people that don’t truly understand what we do even. As a result, I’ve been thoroughly impressed by the fact that Louis understands us without a lot of explanation. This allows him to capture what we’re interested in capturing; he combines his ability to understand a business with the creative realm and brings it into focus.
How did louis creative perform from a project management standpoint?
Louis’ project management skills are excellent. He’s highly organized, and I like the way that he thinks through the process. He takes the big picture and dissects it into smaller components, helping us organize our thoughts and ideas. The way he manages the project from start to finish has been seamless. Overall, Louis is a highly remarkable professional.
Moreover, I’ve always felt that others are waiting for us to lead. By contrast, we feel that if Louis is involved in a project, he’s leading it. We still have to show up to help him understand our goals, but we don’t have to hold his hands as we go to any of our project sites. He meets with our people one-on-one and asks them about their roles in the organization. Without even having any of my help, he’s able to discern where to shoot and what to film. That’s a huge benefit when it comes to working with him.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m most amazed by Louis’ ability to come in like he understands what we do right away. He has a natural ability to understand our perspectives and what we’re trying to gain, show, and illustrate. On top of that, Louis has been phenomenal in working in and around our teams, bringing comfort and a natural feeling to the whole setting. Apart from having technical capabilities, he’s also passionate about his work. Put simply, Louis immediately works as an extension of our team.
Moreover, he’s highly quick-witted and has a casual way of putting things together, making it look easy. On top of that, he’s easygoing about his work, bringing in plenty of creativity while also taking the stress of that creative process off of the client’s plate. Even as he wants to hear inputs, his talent lies in bringing a creative component to the engagement, which is wonderful.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Understand where you want to go with your project. Ask yourself what you want to achieve. If you can give that to Louis and make him understand whatever you’re doing — whether it’s captivating your potential employees and clients or taking footage for a greater purpose — it will be tremendously beneficial for the project. Overall, you must identify two things; first, identify what you want, and second, know if you want to use the footage in other areas.
