A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work for Protek Solutions. We do IT contracts including website development, software development, and digital marketing for small and mid-sized companies.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Local SEO Charlotte?

We needed help with SEO for our clients. The project expanded to include our own website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We approached them for a client to help with SEO and implementing a social marketing strategy for an e-commerce website. That involved designing images and videos for social posts and keyword ranking analysis. We really liked their work, so we engaged them for our own website.

Our client’s platform was nopCommerce, a custom ASP.NET e-commerce platform. We tried to work with that, but there were too many limitations, so we moved the client’s site to Magento.

What is the team composition?

I’m in contact with a project manager and team lead. The team is about 10–15 people.

How did you come to work with Local SEO Charlotte?

I have worked with a lot of subcontractors in this domain and have been burnt a lot as a result. Now I make sure to do my due diligence. I found Local SEO Charlotte through Upwork; they’d been on a project, and I talked to them about starting with a three-month contract. After that, we extended to a six-month contract, and so on.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent less than $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The work started in August 2019 and is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Local SEO Charlotte is very value-driven in their services; no other company has provided the same level of value in my experience. It’s not a one-and-done project, but rather an ongoing process, trying to rank for keywords for geographical location. They have really helped us with on-page SEO and given insights to improve our ranking. They’ve also helped us find difficult keywords. It’s been a short time, but we definitely like their work, its quality, and the reporting we receive.

How did Local SEO Charlotte perform from a project management standpoint?

We get a call and report on a weekly basis to share updates and feedback. The communication has been really great. We communicate via Google Docs; our internal CRM tool, Zoho; and email. Google Docs lets us share documents and make comments.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Local SEO Charlotte has so many experts that cover every area in SEO and can give me a holistic product. It’s a one-stop-shop for any SEO services.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It’s been too short of an engagement for me to see anything negative yet.

Any advice for potential customers?

Always write down requirements and communicate your desired results. Have consistent meetings to help you reach those goals.
