Linea Digital is the studio of web designer and developer Alex Sexton. I'm a one man operation but work with lots of other talented people to bring a project to life.
I have over 15 years experience in this industry. I've designed and built web sites for some pretty big clients and I've run online stores for multi-national brands with turnovers in the millions.

Mimi Berry - Shopify Design & Development
A client we've been working with for quite a few years now. Initially hired to develop an e-commerce store built with Expression Engine.
We transitioned the platform to Shopify in 2014 and we’re now on the second iteration of the design.
We’ve combined years of Shopify experience and a modern approach to web design in this theme. Using Shopify sections and reusable components - which gives Mimi and her team the flexibility to add, remove and change components to suit each seasons new collections.
Donlon Books - Shopify Design & Development
Regarded as one of London's best independent books shops and another long term client.
We designed, built and set up a Shopify theme to complement the already popular retails space in London's Broadway Market. Doubling sales in the first year we've given Conor and the team at his shop a consistent income stream and opened up new markets so he can now sell to international customers.
Todays Shopify theme is a modernisation and re-align of a theme we built way back in 2014. The design features hand drawn iconography from Kyle Steed and type set in Univers Next Typewriter - as a nod to the printed page.
Gentlewench - E-Commerce Development
We worked in partnership with Dazze Studio to develop the WordPress and WooCommerce site for Gentlewench.
The challenge was to develop a website that would serve as an extension of the unique Gentlewench East London store.
Working in partnership with Dazze is always a positive experience. Like us they have many years of e-commerce experience and a very keen eye for detail and the design.
Dazze produced the branding and identity and designed the site. We built the site, optimising every aspect of WordPress and WooCommerce to build a site that was lean and fast to provide the best possible customer experience.
Rosalie Apartments - CraftCMS Design & Development
A project for Rosalie Apartments in Barbados. We produced the branding and identity and then designed and built the website using Craft as the content mangement system.
Designed to provide a user experience that was clean and elegant to showcase the apartment and the island experience.
The site was built with the Solspace calendar plugin to show potential guests when the apartment is available to rent. We included image galleries, guest reviews and clear call to actions for booking the property.

I am the owner of Tanya Doan Art. I create fun and playful original art and merchandise based on it.
For what projects/services did your company hire Linéa Digital, and what were your goals?
I required a Shopify theme design and store development to promote my work and sell pieces I create. Before this, all I had was a portfolio site and wished to expand. The goal was to produce a Shopify store to both promote and sell my art works.
The site needed to showcase my art without distraction, and provide a clean simple experience to allow visitors to purchase products. The site needed to be fast, have good content, and SEO and we needed to be able to update the site ourselves.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Linea Digital and Alex were recommended. I looked at the Shopify store he'd built before and after talking about cost and timescales, decided to hire Alex. I felt confident he could come up with a good design concept based on my mood boards.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We decided earlier on that Shopify was the best option for my needs of combining the online shop with portfolio. I had a limited budget and Alex had a lot of experience building with Shopify. Alex produced initial design concepts in Adobe XD and once we had agreed on the final design and concept he started to build the theme while I collected my content and imagery.
We used Slack and regular phone calls to keep in contact throughout the project. We drew out a rough plan between us to build a couple of different templates for the site; homepage, collections, products, general page content and a custom gallery page. Alex builds in an agile way, so we iterated the design throughout the build process until we were both happy.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I worked with Alex.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We wanted something fast and usable and this is what was delivered. Despite the high number of images used average page load for the site is about 2 seconds and performs well. Overall, the site was clean and worked perfectly for my branding.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We communicated using Slack and we also spoke daily to summarize work done and to clear up anything that needed to be discussed. Alex was always quick to respond to any questions or small changes.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
His knowledge about all things e-commerce was great, Alex has worked with a lot clients in this industry and knows his stuff. He provided expert consultation on my initial design requests for the site and made sure they worked within the Shopify platform.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
No, everything was a great experience!

I am the founder of Dazze Studio. Our purpose is to break away from the eCommerce sameness by building original online experiences.
For what projects/services did your company hire Linéa Digital, and what were your goals?
We required a reputable developer to build an eCommerce website for one of our clients. Coming from a eCommerce background, Alex also gave valuable input and feedback during the design phase. The goal was simple - develop a website that was optimised, so no unnecessary plugins or page builders were installed, and the website be future proof, ready for continued optimisation and developments.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We had worked with Alex on a number of other projects prior to this one. Alex always provides solutions no matter the requirement. It was a no brainer for us to work together.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We supplied the approved designs and kicked things off with a discovery meeting over a few days. We then planned out each section, the functionality and placement throughout the website with a detailed development document that we continually updated together. Wordpress and WooCommerce were the core technologies of the website, ACF played a leading role in creating the page modules shown on the front-end.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with Alex throughout the project.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We launched the website with an average page loading speed of 1.5 seconds across all devices. Plugins were kept to a minimum and to this day, Feb 2022, the website continue to perform incredibly well.

We communicated using Slack and Notion on more or less a daily basis. Anything that was not clear was communicated over a call and then confirmed digitally.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
There was always a solution to every challenge. WooCommerce, like many eCommerce platforms, does have some limitations. One or two design requests were not possible so a solution had to be found. Alex provided a number of solutions, and on occasions helped improve the final outcome.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
None
Linéa Digital delivered a fast, well-performing, and scalable site that perfectly aligned with the client's branding and vision. They led a transparent workflow by communicating daily and addressing requests quickly. They provided expert consultation to ensure the superb execution of the project.
