5 Soul Wine Co Branding
5 Soul came to us with a great concept, totally against the grain of traditional wineries. They're bringing excellent wine to the region without the outrageous price tags and pretentiousness seen in Napa Valley and surrounding areas. Great wine, at a great value, on a beautiful property in the Texas Hill Country. Period. They needed branding that was strong and created curiosity for the general public. We created the logo design, branding, bottle & package design, website and more for 5 Soul.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am a physician at an Ear, Nose & Throat practice. I took the lead on coordinating our rebranding.
For what projects/services did your company hire Left Hand Design, and what were your goals?
We decided to change the name of our practice and needed help with rebranding.
How did you select this vendor?
We wanted to use a local design firm and after researching all of the local firms, we selected Left Hand Design because of their portfolio, price point, and responsiveness.
Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.
To start, we had a brief discussion/interview over the phone. This was followed by us filling out a Logo Development Creative Brief questionnaire. This allowed them to better understand our company background and vision, our target audience and our design aesthetic.
After they received our questionnaire, we received the initial logo concepts within 2-3 weeks, as promised. We initially received two very different concepts and, through frequent communication and fairly minor changes, we worked together to tweak the design of one of the concepts.
The final logo design was delivered a few weeks after the process was started.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We initially had a virtual meeting with the project manager and designer. We worked directly with the project manager throughout the design process.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We were very happy with the final logo design and branding package. We wanted our new practice name to be more modern and patient-friendly, and our new logo perfectly reflects this. We frequently receive compliments from patients regarding our rebranding.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Paul, their project manager, was very responsive and we communicated frequently.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
We were very impressed with their creativity and overall design aesthetic. They developed a logo that is aesthetically pleasing and also reflects the nature of our medical speciality.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
None.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Founder of Sales and Branding Consulting Agency, Sultans of Sales. What began as a Podcast has evolved into something bigger.
For what projects/services did your company hire Left Hand Design, and what were your goals?
Building a brand is difficult. We wanted a Logo and Style Guide that was as rich as the content we have created, so we hired Left Hand Design to design the Logo/Brand.
How did you select this vendor?
Have seen Beau's work before. It's exceptional. Left Hand Design is a native to Austin business, same as Sultans of Sales. That's important.
Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.
1 questionnaire to dial in our brand as we see it, 2-3 video chats (our in person meeting got re-scheduled bc of travel conflicts, but we didn't even need that with technology today). A few weeks to deliver initial concepts, which we reviewed and LHD made adjustments. It was a very smooth and VERY fast process from Concept to Deliverable -- a brand new fresh logo with Style Guide, Business Cards, and Social Media templates.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Worked with Paul the project manager -- fantastic customer service. Paul is attentive, responsive and he really took the time to understand our needs. Beau is the Creative Mastermind. He understands Branding very well. Based on his experience, he probably knew which Logo's were going to work the best, but he gave my wife and I the freedom to decide for ourselves. Just a wonderful experience overall.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Too early to see ROI, but this certainly professionalizes our Brand and gives us some roots to grow the business.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Attentive, Lightning-fast response time. Primarily Email, Video Chat, but also a few phonecalls.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The finished product was spectacular. They do what they say, and truly know what they're doing.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nothing that I can think of.

They provided several initial logo design concepts that looked fantastic and nicely customized, and also really conveyed what I wanted to achieve with my brand and products. From there we worked very collaboratively to refine my favorite one until it was just right.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the owner, and lead doctor at Evolve Chiropractic in Dripping Springs, TX. We specialize in Chiropractic Care, Sports Medicine, and Rehabilitation.
For what projects/services did your company hire Left Hand Design?
We hired Left Hand Design to create our logo and branding kit. We are currently a small business, but have aspirations to expand. They took our goals and ideas and expanded upon them, creating a logo that’s fit for scaling, and accompanied it with a style guide to abide to when creating branding material.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We selected Left Hand Design because of their brilliant track record, and because they were local in our community. Being able to mesh talent and local community are key to our company’s vision.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
Left Hand Design initially consulted with us about what we wanted in our logo including look, feel, color scheme, etc. Additionally, Left Hand Design came by our office to check out the space, and get a better idea of how the logo would be portrayed through the business (and community). Once we hammered out the initial aspects, and shared our goals, they immediately began the design process.
We were allowed three (at least) periods for revisions, and only required two. Once they had the logos finalized, they attached a style guide containing our brand colors, fonts, styles, and a wide array of logos (with multiple file types for different usage). Needless to say we were blown away with the seamless process, professionalism of Left Hand Design, and above expectation delivery.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
In total we worked with two people - Beau and Paul Morrow.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have an extremely professional logo, that’s built to grow as our business grows. In addition we have a style guide to ensure we remain on brand with all our signage, merchandise, online presence, and other branding efforts.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was seamless. Left Hand Design took our ideas into consideration, and expanded upon them. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The above expectation delivery. Both Paul and Beau knew I was a new business owner, and they went out of their way to make it a seamless process, and gave me some advice beyond branding and logo design.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Given the quality of the product, there’s really nothing I can think of.

Logo Design for Real Estate Development Company
“They were very responsive and quick to incorporate any of my feedback.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the VP at a real estate development company in upstate New York.
What challenge were you trying to address with Left Hand Design?
We were building a 300 unit apartment complex, and we didn't really have any in-house design people. We were looking for somebody to take the vision of the apartment and translate it into a logo and design package that we could use for any marketing and our website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had some conceptual designs of the building that I provided to Left Hand Design. Then they had me fill out a design guide with leading questions that would give them some insight into what I was kind of looking for. We also had an interview, and they were able to translate that info into different conceptual visions for the logo. We have an in-house team to work on the website, so we didn’t ask for those services from Left Hand Design.
What is the team composition?
We worked with two people: the main designer and a liaison.
How did you come to work with Left Hand Design?
I was mainly doing sideline research of local companies in Austin. After I reached out to a few of them I saw the reviews that Left Hand Design had, and everything seemed positive. I decided to ask them for a proposal, which fit into our budget, and we went from there. Left Hand Design seemed more aligned to our goals since they had worked with apartments prior to this collaboration.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested $3,200.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from March – May 2021. The project took around 2 months to finish because of delays on my part.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Everyone in my team loved the work they did with the logo design.
How did Left Hand Design perform from a project management standpoint?
During the project, we communicated through email, Zoom, and a couple of calls. I had a liaison between me and the designer who went back and forth with him. He gathered my feedback and he took it back to the designer. They made tweaks, and then he'd send them back to me. They were very responsive and quick to incorporate any of my feedback.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I had experience using a designer from Fiverr, and it was a whole different experience. This time I went with a professional firm, and I received a superior product.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There is nothing that I can think of. It was a great experience.
Any advice for potential customers?
Always be ready to get back to them. You're never going to be waiting on them for too long. Any delays in the process are going to be on your end so be quick to respond.

Logo Design for Architecture & Planning Firm

the review
The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
Reliance Architecture is a full service architecture and planning firm. I am the Vice-President and a Principal Architect.
For what projects/services did your company hire Left Hand Design?
Branding / New logo design
What were your goals for this project?
After 3 years of business, we decided it was time to take our branding into a more professional direction than the logo that we started the company with on almost no budget.
How did you select Left Hand Design?
We researched local companies and, as a company, chose the firms we liked the best. We then asked for proposals from three professional firms. Left Hand Design had the most responsive proposal, laid out the process and costs, and had the best presentation. Since presentation is exactly what we are looking for, we chose them.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
We started by putting together a document of logos that we like, dislike, our thoughts on them. It was probably more than they were expecting. We then had a face to face meeting with Paul and Beau to discuss our goals and for them to get to know us.
Beau prepared some designs, which we liked, but didn't feel like they were the right fit for us. After another round we found one we liked and began to develop that, but then ended up going in a completely different direction from an idea Beau put out there. We then refined that design and ended up with our great new logo!
What was the team composition?
Paul does most communication, and Beau does the design work.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have not launched our logo yet, but we have gotten really positive feedback from the trusted people we have shared it with along the process of development.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
As a designer (Architect), I am probably a bad client. Haha. But, in the end, the design process felt very familiar. There was a moment where I thought we weren't going to get there, right before we landed on exactly the right design. And that is how I often feel about the design process. So, very effective!
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Everything from communication to workflow was top-notch.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Beau's hats?

Website & Logo Development for Speech Telepractice
"They were in constant communication with us about all steps."

the review

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the founder and lead speech-language pathologist of CloudSpeech, a private speech telepractice that provides services online. Currently we work with children experiencing communication difficulties due to autism, apraxia, fluency, language, articulation or language disorders, as well as adults seeking accent modification, in a virtual clinic setting.
For what projects/services did your company hire Left Hand Design?
I consulted Left Hand Design to build a professional brand around our new web-based clinic concept. We needed support with the creative aspect of developing an identity for the business and wanted more than just a basic do-it-yourself-site to represent our private practice.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to develop a brand that would be easy to market and grow in a cutting-edge industry. While speech therapy is not a new concept, providing speech therapy online in a virtual setting is opening up a new world for e-learning in healthcare. It was important for our traditional values and skills to shine through a more modern identity that also demonstrated our tech approach.
How did you select this vendor?
I searched for graphic designers and website developers online through Google. Left Hand Design came up in a search for 'Best Web Developer' with solid reviews of their work. After checking out their website I was very interested in learning more about their approach to building a brand, not just a website. We connected easily with them via phone for a complimentary initial consultation. A couple weeks later we were able to meet in person at a low-key coffee shop in Austin, where they are located (we are based in Houston). They definitely lived up to their promise of 'southern hospitality', and our meeting ended with a plan to work together.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
The process began with a detailed 'creative brief' where Left Hand learned more about our style and concepts. Their questions were so helpful in guiding the creative process. While we had ideas for the brand, Left Hand was instrumental in helping us to understand what elements are critical to creating an image that not only represents 'who your company is', but also plugs in easily into the modern world of social media marketing.
They were patient and supportive with our contributions to the development, but also honest and clear about which ideas were good and which would translate well to the success of the brand. Every step of development was guided by Left Hand, and they did an amazing job of taking our long list of ideas and hopes, and turning them into something real and tangible. We were able to complete the entire project at a distance and they held phone conferences with us to make decisions about design and content throughout the process.
The work was always presented very professionally so that we could make informed decisions. 'Style Guides' were shared for all concepts during development that included notes about the developers thoughts and vision for each individual design choice. This was crucial in helping to develop the 'brand'. Left Hand begins with logo to establish the brand before building it into a dynamic website.
They were in constant communication with us about all steps via email, and always available for questions or concerns. As a small business that would be self-managing our site, Left Hand made sure that we understood how the software worked so that we could handle it independently once it was complete. They created instructional videos for us to learn how to upload and update content. When our small business ran into hiccups and we needed to make changes due to HIPAA compliance for example, Left Hand was patient and helpful as we shifted gears. They made all steps of development easy for us by giving simple instructions when the time was right to secure things such as 'fonts' so that we would have them to use independently in the future. They really guided the whole process. In the end, we received a final 'style guide' with all of our logo images and specific instructions on how to best use them. We received a simple file folder with all the images organized and labeled by their intended purposes. Once we began digital marketing it was so easy to just upload the appropriate images to the right spots. We received stacked, horizontal, color, black and white, web and vector designs all in once package so that we are prepared to share our brand anywhere.
What was the team composition?
I worked directly with Left Hand project manager and graphic designer throughout the project. They were responsive and available throughout the process.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The website turned out great, and everyone loves the new 'face' of our business. Left Hand definitely gave CloudSpeech an identity, and jumping into social media has been simple and successful. The image of the brand expresses the quality of our practice, and people are positively responding to our recent introduction into the online teletherapy space.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
I met regularly with Left Hand via phone and email to stay connected about the project progress and next steps. Sharing notes and ideas was easy with the use of digital dropbox and google drive tools. They were very responsive to our emails and helped me to stay on track during the website content development phase. They were responsive to my concerns and questions, and very patient with the decision making process.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The gentleman at Left Hand Design take pride in their work and commitment to southern hospitality. I was most impressed by their supportive role in the design process. They helped to bring our ideas to life, and also fostered a level of independence needed to move into the next phase: marketing. They made a great effort to help us meet our timelines and launch the practice.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Left Hand was great to work with, even at a distance. We completed the entire project across different time zones. A detailed instructional video was provided for us to provide support in editing the website. I would recommend including more teaching tools like this for clients; perhaps shorter videos about specific topics that could more easily be referenced by clients at any time for future reference.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the owner of a small batch Nano Brewery in Northern California called 18Seventy Brewing Co.
For what projects/services did your company hire Left Hand Design?
Left Hand Design helped me create my initial logo.
What were your goals for this project?
The goals of the project were to produce an initial logo design to help tell the story of the startup concept and help capture community ties and design needs of the startup brewery.
How did you select this vendor?
Left Hand Design helped me take a 60,000 elevation level look at my concept, ideas and thoughts and get down to a 1,000 ft. level that helps reign in the brand image. They used an initial design thoughts page and a conference call to determine design needs. Feedback was given and thoughtful execution was completed.
Describe the project in detail.
Beau and Paul help narrow my scope by asking simple questions and really climb into my mind of what I pictured the design to be. They allowed me to share it and get feedback and then narrowing down options.
What was the team composition?
Paul helps navigate the logistics/marketing portion and Beau is the design guru.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
I did not think they would be able to narrow my crazy ideas down from me telling them my vision and they captured a future vision along with keeping the design unique.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They communicate mostly with email and hit deadlines of when they would have concepts and designs.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Efficiency, sometimes being small creates large in-efficiencies. They managed to take a lot of information in the beginning to create a good first set of concepts to build on.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I am interested in the future of label design and building on the concept. We spoke briefly about this in the beginning, but I think they should expand and pitch these as packages in the beginning.

Logo Design for Digital Marketing agency
"LHD was able to take all of my ideas and suggestions and piece them together seamlessly..."

the review
The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the founder of a digital marketing company I will be launching in summer, 2019.
For what projects/services did your company hire Left Hand Design?
Logo design
What were your goals for this project?
My goals were to create a logo that not only complimented the industry I'm going to target for marketing services, but also one that was memorable and recognizable. I wanted a logo that was simple yet eye-catching and could easily be translated into a business card and an LED sign to sit on a desktop. It had to have a retro look related to the aviation industry.
How did you select this vendor?
I have worked with Beau at Left Hand Design in the past on another project when I was recording a music album. I hired LHD to put together the album artwork using photos sent in from various events during the album’s recording. The result was a professional looking album cover and an overall collage of photos on the inside of the case that turned out incredible.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
LHD was able to take all of my ideas and suggestions and piece them together seamlessly while adding their own advice and insight on how to make the final product top notch. The same rang true for the logo design for my digital marketing endeavor. I sent them a rough sketch up of an idea and I was guided into a better direction for simplicity. The suggestions made perfect sense. It was a mutual interaction where ideas were bounced back and forth and put into creative rough drafts.
What was the team composition?
I worked directly with the founder of LHD.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The logo design was a major step in the early stages of building my agency. Without a great logo, my brand and website would lack authenticity and recognition. It was important for me to get this done first before moving to the next step of website creation.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Easy and seamless.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their professionalism, ability to give good feedback on ideas, and offer suggestions and ideas that aligned with the project’s objectives.
I originally hired another online logo designer from a popular website full of graphics designers and the saying goes true that you get what you pay for. They were easy to work with but I knew I needed someone closer to home and who I could trust to communicate effectively and efficiently in order to achieve the right logo design for my business that met all of my color requirements interests
Are there any areas for improvement?
LHD has been around for years, has learned many important skills of the branding industry, and is among the best in the business. You can drive around Austin and see work on a restaurant's logo design that is straight from the minds and desks of Left Hand Design.
Left Hand Design delivered an excellent final logo design and branding package that matched the company's standards and objectives. Their modern and patient-friendly designs were well-received by patients. Their creativity and responsiveness made them stand out.
