Fostering startup growth with user-centric design.
Hello from Ukraine. We're a Digital Product Design Agency.
And, yes, we're at war caused by Russia.
If it were in peaceful days, we would simply describe our UI/UX expertise, tell you that we were the only Ukrainians who won WEBBY AWARD this year, or how we launched a FinTech Unicorn in the U.S.
But now it's war, and we have something else to tell.
- Firstly, our team has moved to safe places in western Ukraine and Europe and continues working on projects.
- Secondly, we are declared a winner in the 26th Annual Webby Awards, which means we continue delivering high-quality designs.
- Thirdly, and most importantly, our profit is donated to support people in Ukraine and bring the day of victory closer.
$55K+ already donated.
Remember, by working with us - you support Ukraine and our defenders.
Moving forward and pushing hard!

Before our involvement, GoPingu had a pre-made design for their MVP. Yet, they saw the need of upgrading the user experience, that’s redesigning their product interface. Lazarev. took up the gauntlet of making accessible, practical, and feature-rich Task Management App. We dug inside, pinpointed less-than-perfect areas and fixed design shortcomings.

Our input:
ActiVote connected with Lazarev. to upgrade the mobile app UI and recreate the UX. We made every effort to enhance the overall product design to create an encouraging environment for low-propensity voters and empower them to be more proactive.

Rentcredit is a new-generation PropTech solution designed to simplify leasing frictions. The app facilitates tenants in paying security deposits and aids landlords in collecting these deposits and checking the conditions of their properties.
Our input:
When Rentcredit co-founders set out to simplify handling security deposits, they did not have a coherent vision of the product functionality, but rather a bare product concept with a few use cases.
Lazarev. partnered with the Rentcredit team and covered the entire cycle of designing a start-up product from UX Research to Design hand-off.
Our challenge:
Inasmuch as the Rentcredit product was the first to bring innovation in the security deposits sector, the business did not have competitors and no UX references to rely on. Our input:
When Social Share team embarked upon a mission of simplifying a burdensome process of promoting properties, they reached us with a bare product vision. Hence, we began with UX research and product roadmap and further switched to UI/UX design.

It comes with a powerful set of features for setting up, doing, and monitoring tasks. The app automates processes that make up the core of law and accountant businesses.

When Retasks co-founders set out to modernize the way law and accountant firms handle routine tasks, they, first thing, composed a design template with a confusing functionality. Lazarev. undertook the complete overhaul of their design to give them a competitive advantage in the intense market.

Our input:
When Alla Klymenko set out to create a self-development platform to change people's mindsets and lead them to a happy life, we jumped on the bandwagon and covered the entire product design process from product ideation to creating the user experience.
Our challenge:
The story behind a course is that a person needs to daily pursue the efforts over 6 weeks to establish a habit. Our task was to keep users engaged over 6 weeks and further. Thus, we developed a complex gamification system to level up user adoption and retention rates.

UI/UX Design for Tech Education Platform
"From the get-go, they gave me the confidence that Kirill and his team would be able to meet my needs."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m one of the founders of a new tech education platform.
What challenge were you trying to address with Lazarev.?
We’re developing an education platform that’s purely online. We have an in-house team but we need UI/UX designers. That is why we engaged with Lazarev.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We are programmers with an educational background so we've been teaching people how to code for a very long time. It was easy for us to develop a clear idea of the functionality that we wanted the platform to have. We knew how we wanted each button to behave, but we relied on Lazarev to make everything intuitive and aesthetically pleasing.
We began by communicating all of our ideas to their team, outlining every feature and function. They came up with prettier designs for our mockups and wireframes.
What is the team composition?
We worked with four people from Lazarev: Kirill (Founder & CEO), a project manager, and two designers.
How did you come to work with Lazarev.?
I found them on Upwork. I evaluated their designers’ portfolios, and they were the best agency out of all the 70 different companies that I had interviewed.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $35,000–$40,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around June 2020. The designs have been finalized and we have begun executing their designs. However, we continue to work with the team to redo some aspects here and there.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our decision to hire Lazarev out of 70 different agencies was completely justified. Their design work was clean, intuitive, and easy to follow, which is exactly what I was looking for. Whenever I needed anything, they were always on top of it and got it done within a couple of days. Their communication was also awesome. I felt like they understood every little nook and cranny about the functionality of our platform, and they ran with it quite well.
How did Lazarev. perform from a project management standpoint?
The Lazarev team was great at meeting deadlines. We did get to a point where needed more features added, which resulted in a stretching of the budget and timelines, but that’s not on them.
We had biweekly Zoom calls and were constantly going back and forth over Slack. We also made use of Figma for the design work.
What did you find most impressive about them?
One thing that really stood out about Lazarev was the breadth of their design portfolio. From the get-go, they gave me the confidence that Kirill and his team would be able to meet my needs.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Not a lot of people can come to Lazarev with a full-fledged idea like we did, but it is a matter of simply telling their team what you want to achieve. I would have more tips and tricks to express if these people were not that good, but the Lazarev team is amazing. I don’t think a potential client would need any special advice because this agency makes the process very simple.

Frontend Web Dev & Design for Online Freelance Website
"We get a lot of value working with them."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder and CEO of an online freelance website that allows freelancers from around the world to perform what’s called micro-jobs.
What challenge were you trying to address with Lazarev.?
We needed someone to help us with frontend web design and development.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We have full front- and backend development resources in-house and we use Lazarev. as our design resource. We do daily sprints where I review their work so they can further refine the final deliverables through Figma.
What is the team composition?
I was initially introduced to the CEO, but I mostly work with a project manager.
How did you come to work with Lazarev.?
I first met them through an independent designer I worked with from Upwork, who was hired by Lazarev.
How much have you invested with them?
I would say we’ve spent less than $60,000 USD.
What is the status of this engagement?
The ongoing partnership started in June 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The design work is tough to quantify, but our site has been successful. Our traffic has increased and the overall health of our platform has been doing really well.
How did Lazarev. perform from a project management standpoint?
We have weekly sprints with the project manager where we talk about the details and deliverables over Slack and Zoom.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We’re impressed by how responsive they are to client needs and their high-quality deliverables. We get a lot of value working with them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
A lot of people would probably have the problem of the project going out of control when working with design companies. Lazarev. could help mitigate those problems by keeping the projects very defined so they don’t mushroom out of control.

UI/UX Design for Growth Marketing Consultancy
"Their ability to preserve creativity whilst working within the confines of often restrictive parameters is impressive."
the reviewer
the review
The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the Managing Partner of Half Past Nine, a Growth Marketing Consultancy. We service scale-ups and F500 brands in SaaS, Healthcare, and E-commerce.
For what projects/services did your company hire Lazarev.?
We've worked with Lazarev on multiple occasions, on projects ranging from User Experience Strategy, Design, Wireframing, High-Fidelity Mockups, Full User Interface Design, and even projects such as auditing and competitive analysis.
How did you select this vendor?
We selected them out of a wide breadth of partners we were vetting, via our personal network, UpWork, and cold outreach. Ultimately, we selected Lazarev due to their ability to work on tight timeframes, the quality of work, and communication excellence.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
For our most recent project, we reached out to them with an extremely tight deadline (less than 1 month). The project involved the full auditing of a current website and experience - as well as the full strategic recommendation of a "best-path-forward".
Lazarev, in a short amount of time was able to deliver a current-state audit, a strategic roadmap of creative best-practices to move forward with, and hi-fi mockups that could be immediately deployed. They carefully took into account the resource availability on the development side, as well as the client's target audience, products + services, and general sentiment.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
5+ we've worked with two project managers, multiple interaction and experience designers, and the CEO himself, Kirill.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Yes - the outcomes of our most recent project include immediately actionable design implementations that would lift conversion rate, prospect education and decrease time-to-conversion. These changes were done with tact, and precision that allowed for immediately attributable results to CVR and site engagement.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Lazarev is based in Kiev, in the Ukraine - thus, communication is bound between certain hours of the day. We view this as a positive - as, we're able to rapidly iterate with feedback in the morning, and have results delivered usually by the next morning. Having a team work overseas, whilst you sleep, with the ability to deliver results so quickly is truly an efficiency, not a detriment in our eyes.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their ability to preserve creativity whilst working within the confines of often restrictive parameters is impressive. The pure quality of design deliverables, the careful attention to modern design trends, and the ability to near-instantly position a company as a modern, brand leader.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Certainly, every partner has small areas of improvement that could be improved upon. Given the overseas nature of Lazarev, we sometimes find English misspellings or grammatical errors in deliverables. Though, this is not a copywriting agency, it is a design agency, and if you can look past infrequent grammatical errors, the core product is nearly unbeatable.

SaaS Platform Design for Real Estate Advertising Company
“Lazarev has an extremely clear and concise process.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the digital marketing director of a 30-year-old advertising agency in Miami, Florida. We focus on the high-end luxury real estate category.
What challenge were you trying to address with Lazarev.?
We were launching a new SaaS platform, and we needed a product designer to help us bring our concept to life.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Lazarev did the entire product design from beginning to end for us. They worked on everything from graphic design and wireframes to frontend development and user testing. We also coordinated focus groups with them. Their team conducted extensive research and discovery both with us and on their own. The goal was to bring insights and ideas for the creation of the platform.
The platform was a collaborative file-sharing and real estate listing service. As such, the features and functions we requested were similar to the ones in products that were already in the marketplace. However, our platform required customization and out-of-the-box thinking. As a result, Lazarev worked on discovering things we hadn’t thought about from a conceptual standpoint.
While the primary deliverable was the design of the platform, they also developed content for us in the form of presentations and visuals needed for decks. We had decks for investors and external users; we also had one for marketing and promotion. They developed such content to help us introduce the product to new audiences.
At present, they’re helping us create a website by working on its design. We haven’t completed it yet, and it’s not available in the public domain.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with around five people from their team, including the owner, who’s helped in setting up a team for us through the discovery sessions. They’ve provided us with a full-time account manager with whom we coordinate on a regular basis or at any time. We’ve also had a dedicated designer and an animator.
How did you come to work with Lazarev.?
We found them via Upwork and connected with their owner right away. He wrote a proposal, and we had an initial meet-and-greet call. We were super impressed at how that call went; he was up to speed and boots on the ground — he understood the core concepts that we wanted to accomplish. Then, they had a few discovery sessions with members of my team. A week and a half later, we signed a contract with them and started the project.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested around $15,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The partnership began in December 2020, and it’s ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Being a professional in the field who has worked with several companies similar to Lazarev, I’m impressed by their level of knowledge. The way they showcase that knowledge to us via similar projects they’ve already completed is also impressive. They’ve clearly shown that they understood our project’s concept before they start working on it. That’s truly interesting and critical for us as a startup.
How did Lazarev. perform from a project management standpoint?
Lazarev has an extremely clear and concise process in terms of how we interact. We use both text, email, and Slack all the time, and we have weekly Zoom meetings with them. We recap everything that has happened so far with the deliverables, project timelines, and milestones that we need to cover. It’s been a seamless and accessible relationship as far as communication is concerned.
Moreover, they’re extremely consistent and great at consolidating information. No matter who gets engaged in whatever part of the project, they can help get them up to speed quickly. They have the documentation necessary to do that.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their level of expertise is our favorite part. They bring things to the table that we haven’t thought of but are actually critical for the whole process. They even go beyond that by educating us as a client around how to best develop this concept we have. Overall, they’ve gone above and beyond in terms of research while showing us how they’ve come up to the conclusions they have.
Their efforts truly help our team; they make sure that we understand every step they take along the way. The process is highly transparent, and their expertise continues to sell us on Lazarev — it’s the reason why they’re such a great partner.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The only challenge that we’ve faced is the time difference between our locations; they’re in Europe, while we’re in the United States. Beyond that, we’ve had no problems in terms of scheduling meetings. Everything has gone well.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Come to the table with all of your thoughts and ideas. Be transparent with Lazarev, and they’ll be transparent with you. They’ll help you get the most out of what you’re trying to accomplish if they have a complete understanding of what you want them to provide and complete — they excel in identifying their customers’ needs and goals. They’ll reiterate these things to you to make sure that everyone is on the same page.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CEO of a company developing a mobile app. We are based in Los Angeles, California.
For what projects/services did your company hire Lazarev.?
Having poor UI/UX designs can be a startup killer especially when it comes to mobile apps. This is why we partnered with Lazarev.
How did you select this vendor?
We posted an offer on Upwork and shortlisted 20 different agencies. We chose this vendor based on their experience they had in our industry, the cost estimate, and working hours.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
Lazarev’s team conducted intensive research, gathering industry reviews, user feedback, and relevant information on our competitors. From there, we broke down areas our mobile app could be more intuitive and user friendly. They also worked on the product roadmap and the features that could be implemented on the long-term. They produced iterations, incorporating both our feedback and the findings into the final version.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Our team worked directly with their UI/UX designers and a project manager.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We’re pleased with the deliverables with their team. the UI/UX serves as the foundation for the app we’re now working to develop in-house. We’ve tested it with several potential customers, and the feedback has been very positive. Their work also perfectly reflects the vision we had at the start, helping us create a user-friendly and easy-to-navigate mobile app. We are looking forward to having a long-term relationship with Lazarev.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Nastya, the project manager, was extremely easy to communicate with and provided us frequent updates. We had in-person meetings at least once a week, but most of the feedback was through Slack. Everything was always delivered on time.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The quality of their UI/UX designs were outstanding. We also loved their research methodology showing how experienced the team was. They knew about everything, from in-depth research to perfect execution.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nothing to add. Amazing work!
