Mazda commissioned a new display from kubik for the 2019 auto-show circuit to create a brand statement illustrating their push toward luxury particularly defined by “hand-made” Japanese luxury versus more “industrial luxury”.
The process of creating Mazda’s new display began a year prior, when members of kubik’s team traveled to Japan to learn about the brand vision. Sketches and three-dimensional models of the architecture was then conceptualized with a goal to ensure the exhibit be portable and modular enough to work across the show circuit, while maintaining brand integrity.
The design of the various displays and the interactive elements were essential for getting visitors to spend time with the automaker. Everything about the space was a draw, from its dramatic spotlight, cool gray architectural concrete and warm wood panels, to a digital “Takumi Table” that encourages visitors to touch and interact with beautiful-crafted Japanese products.
Once the design was approved and engineering finalized, Mazda’s new exhibit was custom built-in our state-of-the-art facility providing a complete turn-key solution.
8,000 square feet located in the historic HP building, designed to engage visitors and encourage connections through an experiential narrative and thoughtfully curated content delivering on the HP mission of innovations that will empower people to create, interact and inspire.
kubik created a center piece with a 270-degree eye-catching curved video wall theatre, welcoming visitors with real life stories about HP setting the tone of the experience. In contrast with the large and colorful video display; a limited palette of materials and finishes in the surrounding area allowing the HP products and people’s accomplishment stories shine through. The result is an elegant white open space featuring oversized ring pendant lights. Large video walls and interactive multi-touch tables tell historical stories and those of innovations to come.
Curated video content along with ultimate HP printers, workstations, notebooks, tablets and displays keep the space fresh for future visitors.
A Race Around the World
Using four 40-foot shipping containers, kubik created a modern and dynamic mobile merchandising store. Because the containers functioned as both a shopping environment and transportation vessel, they had to be durable as well as feature attention-grabbing branding. This unique retail experience from PUMA traveled with the Volvo Ocean Race to Alicante, Spain and Boston, United States.
