A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of marketing at FICO. We’re an enterprise software and analytics company that primarily serves the financial services industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Kristan Ruona Marketing?

We wanted to rapidly create top-of-the-line thought leadership content that would help us funnel leads and develop a new sales pipeline.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Kristan (Principal, Kristan Ruona Marketing) designed a series of two-page executive briefs that focused on some of the newer solutions that we were developing. She then consolidated a number of old case studies into an updated format. Finally, she created e-books that summarized the results of a large consumer survey we fielded last year.

We typically provided Kristan with a brief that included legacy materials, any necessary information, and a general direction about our objectives. From that, she would deliver the first draft for feedback, make adjustments, and finalize the project within our timeline.

What is the team composition?

We worked exclusively with Kristan.

How did you come to work with Kristan Ruona Marketing?

We heard about Kristan through our network of consultants. Some of our trusted colleagues highly recommended her, and she had an excellent portfolio. She seemed like a good fit for our goals.

How much have you invested with them?

In total, we spent about $15,–$20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Her work lasted from February–July 2017. She completed the two-page briefs within three weeks, and we continued to work with her on and off over the next few months.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Although I don’t have any hard metrics, our internal sales team and end-users have complimented Kristan’s work.

How did Kristan Ruona Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

Kristan brought a high level of organization and discipline. She kept us on track, continuously checking in with us for feedback, and ensured that we would meet our deadlines. In terms of communication, we primarily coordinated through email. When we had new projects, we would have phone calls to brief her.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What stood out the most was Kristan’s speed of delivery and strong work. We worked with her on projects that we needed to turn around quickly while still maintaining a high level of quality. She was able to listen to what we wanted and delivered pieces on tight timelines.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a detailed idea of what you want to accomplish and give Kristan concrete instructions and goals upfront. She excels at sticking to plans and meeting goals, so, without them, things might not go as smoothly as expected.
