Please describe your company and your position there.
Bounce is a social events and payments company that helps users discover and create activities with their friends. I'm the CEO & Co-Founder of the company.
For what projects/services did your company hire KRFTWRK?
We hired KRFTWRK to redesign and reimagine our platform's UI/UX. Mapping the optimal "happy paths" for the key value driving functions of the platform and reducing any friction along the way. They redesigned both our mobile apps & website.
How did you select this vendor?
We searched online and interviewed 10 different vendors– KRFWRK was recommended to us by a mutual friend who loved their experience with the business.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
The team supported us in designing the new product and user testing–it was incredibly valuable in getting a deeper understanding into the key behaviours for our target market. Once cleared, they supported in asset handoff to our developers to support product development.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
My team worked directly with 5 members from the KRFTWRK team who were phenomenal individuals.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Check our app on the app store! They helped us build it.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The professional expertise and quality that you would expect with the flexibility of a start-up, KRFTWRK felt like an extension of the Bounce team.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their UI/UX skills were stellar–which is what you would expect, but their ability to really try and understand our userbase was quite unique.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nothing major on our end. They were great to work with and catered to our needs.

Web Development & UI Design for Quantum Computing Company
"Their use of advanced tools like Figma was a differentiator, and they delivered what we wanted."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the head of special projects for a Series C quantum computing startup based in Canada.
What challenge were you trying to address with KRFTWRK?
We needed help with web design and development for our new marketing website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
KRFTWRK developed a static website for us using Gatsby and HTML. They also created a design system for our cloud platform's UI using Figma.
What is the team composition?
We worked with five people from KRFTWRK, including a senior designer who acted as project manager, a few junior designers, and two web developers.
How did you come to work with KRFTWRK?
I found them on Clutch. I got proposals from 10 vendors, and KRFTWRK had the best one, plus the best price and timeline flexibility.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $100,000 CAD (approximately $78,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from June 2021–February 2022.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The website KRFTWRK built is nice. Although our web traffic has increased 1,000 times, we can't attribute that to the website alone because we had a product launch and achieved a technical milestone. However, it's all a unified effort, and the website contributed.
How did KRFTWRK perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management was good overall. We wanted a design firm that offered flexibility, given that ours is a nascent industry and best practices for design and communication are limited. The KRFTWRK team offered that flexibility and gave us all the time we needed to figure things out together.
As for tools, we used GitHub for development and Figma for design review. We communicated over Slack and email and had weekly meetings over video calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I was impressed with KRFTWRK's flexibility on scope and pricing. Their use of advanced tools like Figma was a differentiator, and they delivered what we wanted.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could execute what the client wants and offer ideas. We had a very clear design in mind, and they were trying to create more mainstream designs when that wasn't our goal. There were also points when we asked for certain things to be done, and they didn't fully execute them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice would be to provide lots of references. To do a project like this efficiently, you should clearly understand what you want and the project's scope. Overall, KRFTWRK is a great company to work with; they can handle everything.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of Muscle Wise. We provide a medically supervised diet program. It’s a vertical program that involves coaching and the provision of products to clients that need to lose weight for medical reasons.
What challenge were you trying to address with KRFTWRK?
We’re a venture startup, so they worked from scratch on designing our e-commerce website. They also set us up in connection with a virtual platform for our app, which they developed for both iOS and Android.
What was the scope of their involvement?
KRFTWRK developed the skin for the app. We have four separate linked platforms, and they helped us with the patient-facing skins rather than the backend. They made sure the app looks like our website from the patients’ point of view.
They created the content based on interviews, market segment research, and more. I put together six websites for different business over the years, and this was the most in-depth process I’ve seen to build a website. They evaluated our competitors and the market, determined our key demographics, and designed the site to appeal to that segment.
They helped us with logo design and branding, and SEO was part of the copywriting process for the website.
What is the team composition?
I work with four different individuals. Our main point of contact was their digital account manager, and I also interacted with a content specialist, a performance lead partner, and one final resource.
How did you come to work with KRFTWRK?
One of my partners had worked with them at a previous business. He recommended them and we moved forward with it.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $30,000–$35,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since August 2021. The website launched in December 2021, and we’re not engaging them for other projects around marketing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The website is live and fully functional. We had to update a few pieces of content based on changes from our side, but they produced everything that we required on time.
They stuck to timelines and budgets — keeping us on track, even.
How did KRFTWRK perform from a project management standpoint?
Their communication was very professional and organized. Expectations were clear, as well. Figma helped us collaborate, as did an internal staging site that we were granted access to. We also had Zoom meetings.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They ran a delineated process in terms of setting up the project, organizing it, asking us questions about our objectives. In my experience, I’ve never seen a better-run project. Their process was akin to rolling out an entire system, rather than a single website. All we had to do was provide content; they did all the interviewing and research. They were above and beyond every other partner I’ve encountered in this area.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything that would have improved the outcome.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you follow their process, then it will challenge you to produce a better product that you imagined. They’re not the most affordable, but you absolutely get what you pay for. You have to bring the vision, but they will improve upon it.

Rebranding for Healthcare Company
"They're great at working with clients. They deliver projects on time."
the reviewer
the review
The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the Founder and CEO at MasterHealth. I built this company to help millions of people reach their health goals, not just dream about them. MasterHealth is a mobile-first platform to deliver immersive consumer health programs – a mix of high-quality video lessons, coaching and connection with others, and emphasis on action taking and tracking.
For what projects/services did your company hire KRFTWRK, and what were your goals?
I hired KRFTWRK to rebrand my business and build a website to promote it. We designed a logo, brand guidelines, a communication strategy, a 12 page website, and they also supported us with custom app animations and video animations. Our goal was to have a brand that appealed to our end user and that could scale with us, as well as having a website that could serve as a lead generation tool which we could easily publish to, add new programs to, and visually convey our unique value proposition.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We interviewed a few, and ultimately felt like the portfolio quality and people at KRFTWRK were the right ones to work with for this project.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We started by going through a workshop exercise to get aligned on the product, our audience, past learnings, and design direction. KRFTWRK then presented moodboards and a communication strategy and we had a few rounds of revisions before arriving at the final ones. We then went into logo concepts, and website copywriting. Once copy was approved, the team designed the core web pages on Figma as HiFi concepts for both desktop and mobile. They then delivered brand guidelines for the new look. Alongside this, we worked with their animator to create in-app animations as well as trailer animations for our courses. Once this initial phase of the project was complete, we moved into build. The site was built on Wordpress with Elementor and everything was done on a staging site before going live. They built out the front-end for a 'Text Me The App' service that was then implemented by our backend team. Before launch, they spent 2 weeks doing QA on the site, during which time I had full access to the staging site. They also optimized the pages for SEO. Post-launch, they hosted a 1 hour training session on how to update and edit the site.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
There were 7 team members working on the project. A project manager led us through timelines, weekly reviews, and creative approvals, a developer who built out custom post types, set up integrations, and optimized the site for speed and responsiveness, a copywriter, an animator, and three designers, one focussed on logo, one on creative direction, and one on site build.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Since launch, we've received a number of really positive comments related to our brand design and website. Thanks!
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The KRFWRK team did a good job communicating via Slack (primarily) and email. We also connected for weekly check-ins to give feedback on progress, and ensure there were enough opportunities to shift gears in different directions if needed.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They're great at working with clients. They deliver projects on time. And beyond our first project, I've continued going back to them to help with several technical and design challenges that we've needed to work to overcome.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
They've been great. If bugs arise due to changes with configuration settings, plug-in updates, etc. they've been easy to reach and accommodating.

WordPress Website Dev & Design for Healthcare Company
“They understand what it is like to be a growing startup, and they help them grow as quickly as possible.”

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I lead the marketing team of Lightyear Health. We provide specialty healthcare to adults in skilled nursing facilities, including assistance on conditions related to aging and medically complex chronic illnesses. Our company is remote-first, with most of our employees based in the US and Canada. However, we currently only provide medical services in the US.
What challenge were you trying to address with KRFTWRK?
We went through a rebrand process in July 2021, so we engaged with KRFTWRK to help us bring that brand to life digitally. We wanted to go from our almost nonexistent website to a fully functional website that could handle inbound leads.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We started our engagement with KRFTWRK by going through a very detailed workshop about who we were, who our audience was, which were our goals, and what functionality we needed on the site. Based on our input and the brand book we provided them with, they put together various concepts and came back to present them.
After choosing one of their concepts, KRFTWRK started designing the site. They completed the entire design, built the site on WordPress using Elementor, and launched it within three and a half months. The deliverables included over 20 pages of template designs and copywriting, a job-board integration with Greenhouse, and a lead-capture integration with HubSpot.
When building this site, our priorities were split between generating demand and improving our recruitment efforts. Thus, we spent a lot of energy deploying the about us section of the site, integrating the job board with Greenhouse. During this side of the project, KRFTWRK helped us streamline the job application process to ensure that the candidates’ experience was top-notch.
What is the team composition?
I interacted primarily with a team lead from KRFTWRK, but I also met with a designer, a copywriter, and a project manager during our weekly calls. Additionally, a development lead came in and out as needed to connect with me on various things.
How did you come to work with KRFTWRK?
KRFTWRK came recommended to us for a product UI design project around May 2021, and from May–June 2021, I worked with them on updating our product’s UI. We had such a good experience with them on that project that we decided to engage with them again.
Another important consideration for choosing them was that they outbid on this project. We were working with another agency on our rebranding project, and they could have taken care of the website. However, KRFTWRK gave us a better price and a faster timeline, so we decided to build the site with them instead.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $50,000 CAD (approximately $39,000).
What is the status of this engagement?
We kicked off this project at the beginning of July 2021, and we launched the site in mid-October 2021. However, I’ll continue to use their services for ongoing maintenance, and we will collaborate on other projects.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The candidates’ feedback about our website has been amazing. They love the application experience, think that our site is sleek, and clearly understand what we do. Additionally, it doesn’t look like a traditional healthcare company website, which is what we looked for.
I don’t have any exact numbers regarding metrics and statistics, but anecdotally, I can say that our traffic has more than doubled after launching the new site. A great thing about our site is that it was built with a drag-and-drop solution, making it easy to manage for our team. However, we still reach out to KRFTWRK if we have any issues.
How did KRFTWRK perform from a project management standpoint?
Working with KRFTWRK, we didn’t have any project management issues at all. They used Sigma to do weekly status updates, and we worked on a sprint-based model to keep the project moving. Additionally, the team was very responsive. Whenever we had an issue, we sent them an email, and they troubleshot it immediately.
In addition to Sigma, they used Active Collab. We also had a Slack channel, and we held weekly calls. Additionally, KRFTWRK sent a follow-up note after each call via email if there was anything that needed to be addressed between calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
KRFTWRK understands the high-growth startup culture very well. Whereas a traditional agency can take months to deliver their work due to strict internal processes or a corporate approach to projects, KRFTWRK is there, collaborating closely with their clients. They’re very willing to help their clients scope out projects effectively so that it takes the internal team the least amount of effort moving forward. Additionally, they constantly try to get an MVP up and running quickly, willingly iterating on it as much as needed.
They understand what it is like to be a growing startup, and they help them grow as quickly as possible. This characteristic sets KRFTWRK apart from other agencies because they act as an extension of their clients. In addition to that, we were very happy with their price.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It would be good if KRFTWRK built avenues to understand the US market better. My constructive feedback may seem specific to our industry, but the time we spent getting them up to speed about our industry could have been better. We spent a lot of time refining the messaging and copywriting, as well as teaching them about our company. However, I don’t know if there was a way for them to get up to speed faster before starting working on our copywriting.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Let them drive the project, and do your best to meet their deadlines. KRFTWRK is very effective at managing projects to meet deadlines. Any time our project fell off a deadline was because we weren’t meeting our timelines.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder of a micro-mobility company called Dega.
What challenge were you trying to address with KRFTWRK?
We brought KRFTWRK on to build our brand because we’re a consumer-facing company.
What was the scope of their involvement?
At the beginning of the project, we went through a discovery process with them. Together, we created several mood boards to determine what our vision for the brand was. We went through a couple of iterations and narrowed down what we wanted to focus on. Then we shifted our focus to creating our color scheme and logo.
After that, they started designing our website. KRFTWRK handled everything from copywriting to visuals and moving graphics.
What is the team composition?
We worked with one point-person, a designer, and someone else who helped with design.
How did you come to work with KRFTWRK?
I really liked our software provider’s website, so I asked them who had built their platform. They made the referral and connected us to KRFTWRK.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about $7,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in December 2020 and ended we’re about to wrap up the project.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
So far, we’ve received amazing feedback. The final product is much better than what we expected. Even though we had high expectations, they outperformed them. I’ve already recommended KRFTWRK to a few other companies because I’m so happy with how our project worked out.
How did KRFTWRK perform from a project management standpoint?
They were very communicative and helped us refine our vision. Their project management was their strong suit. We weren’t sure that we knew what we wanted and kept changing our minds. Still, they were responsive whenever we asked them to make changes.
They were always on top of deadlines and always scheduled upcoming calls to keep the project moving on to the next step.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I was impressed by their creativity. They took pride in their work and were genuinely invested in the outcome of our project. Their dedication shows in how the final product turned out.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I didn’t find anything they needed to work on.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
New clients should have an idea of what they want, but they should be open to suggestions from KRFTWRK. Their creative ability exceeded our expectations and that added a ton of value. If we hadn’t considered their ideas, I don’t think we would have had such a successful engagement.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
My organization is AgeRate. We’re a biotech startup that provides direct consumer blood testing for health and longevity traits. My position is CEO and co-founder.
What challenge were you trying to address with KRFTWRK?
We were trying to create wireframes for our mobile app. We also needed branding.
What was the scope of their involvement?
KRFTWRK started out with low-fidelity wireframes. We went through several iterations before landing on the final versions and moving onto high-fidelity wireframes, which is where the look and feel and a lot of the branding aspects were fleshed out. They also presented us with mood boards and a logo for the app.
What is the team composition?
There were four people I primarily interacted with, including Justin (Founder & Product Lead), Meagan (Digital Project Manager), and two designers.
How did you come to work with KRFTWRK?
We reached out to a number of different firms. In our initial call with Justin, it was clear he understood what we wanted to do. The primary deciding point for us was that they had experience working at startups in the past and their past work was excellent.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested about $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from November 2020–January 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We don’t have any quantitative metrics for the quality of work, but we’ve done some customer interviews and the feedback has been great so far. Internal stakeholder buy in and customer reviews are our two main metrics so far, and they’ve both been really positive.
The look and feel of the app resonates with everyone. It’s easy to navigate. We’re very pleased.
How did KRFTWRK perform from a project management standpoint?
The communication was very open. KRFTWRK took our suggestions and feedback and incorporated it throughout the project. We had weekly calls, and the project was run in a sprint format, which we thought was great.
It wasn’t like we gave them the project and they went to their office and did it on their own. They gave us weekly demos and were really thoughtful about seeking our feedback, which is a great way to operate. Plus, Meagan was an excellent project manager, and it was great working with her.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The main thing I’m impressed with is that they really listened to us. KRFTWRK took our idea for the brand and really made it happen.
We’ve worked with other designers in the past, and it can definitely be a long process to get them to produce something that really reflects our vision. KRFTWRK was able to figure it out really quickly and produce a great reflection in terms of what we wanted the brand to be and what we wanted the app to do.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nothing comes to mind. They did a great job overall.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Come to them with as much information as possible in terms of what you want to get out of the engagement. Be prepared so that you can make the most out of your time with them.

SEO & Digital Marketing for Fertility Clinic
"Their creativity and ideas demonstrated through the graphics are very impressive."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a physician with a fertility practice in North York. I’m the sole practitioner, so I run the business and the practice.
What challenge were you trying to address with KRFTWRK?
After relocating, I wanted to organically raise the profile of my business. I was still seeing most of my leads coming through from my previous location. While that was okay, my dropout rate began to increase because patients were having to travel so far to my new location.
This was a challenge because of the volume and timing of fertility meetings. It helps to live closer to where a patient is being monitored. So, I wanted to increase my profile in my new location while appealing to a younger audience.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They handled digital marketing for me in an effort to raise my digital profile. That involved social media engagement through Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. They’ve also created a blog for me as well as a newsletter. Additionally, they’ve targetted keywords as part of SEO initiatives.
What is the team composition?
I suspect there are more people working in the background, but I collaborate directly with about 4–5 people.
How did you come to work with KRFTWRK?
I have a friend who worked with the founder in the past. After explaining my situation to my friend, she recommended their services. I decided to call them, and we had an extensive and informative chat about my goals.
He suggested that I meet with one of her team leads. When she visited my office, I connected with her over our conversation. She seemed bright, creative, and personable. They didn’t have tons of healthcare experience, but they seemed like a strong team for the work.
How much have you invested with them?
We spend approximately $2,000 each month with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We had initial conversations in early 2020 but waited to engage until the pandemic restrictions eased a little bit. They’ve been working with us since May 2020.
Originally, we were working together on a three-month trial, but I’ve extended their contract until June 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They provide performance metrics on a bi-weekly basis. We still have some more work to do, but the numbers are moving in a positive direction. I’ve also had patients and customers praise the infographics and blog that they’ve provided as well.
How did KRFTWRK perform from a project management standpoint?
Their communication is excellent and regular. We meet every two weeks, sometimes even more than that. I’m not very technical, but they’ve provided assistance whenever necessary without any judgment.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their creativity and ideas demonstrated through the graphics are very impressive. I also value their professionalism.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything. I’d recommend them highly to others looking for a digital marketing team.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make your goals very clear to them. They’re great at directing our conversations back to our goals. It’s clear that they put a lot of effort into addressing our goals.
