Mary Balogh
Mary Balogh is a 35 times New York Times Best Selling Author with a large fan following and an outdated website. Her website design needed to be dynamic, easy to navigate while still being beautiful. JB Custom Woodwork LTD.
JB Customs tasked us with showcasing his unique work in a very visually stimulating way. To portray his value added to his clients’ homes, we incorporated big photography with sliders, galleries and inside sections to showcase it. Airline Ticket Centre
An established travel agency with locations in Calgary and St. Albert, we were tasked with creating their online presence as they moved their focus into the digital age. We post daily flight or vacation deals targeted to large Canadian cities, with enticing, beautiful pictures which create and urgency with the consumer. Getting a potential traveler to see your ad/ post and click within them a desire to visit that area is a competitive business, but with proper targeting and an understanding of seasonal travel habits, we have created an efficient funnel to their website.

Papa Grant Mechanical
Having created the Papa Grant Mechanical brand with scratch, we were able to integrate cohesive branding and look throughout the website and marketing materials. We personified the brand with a welcoming character, enhancing the personable nature the business owner wanted to portray. Using modern illustrations and elevated designs, we brought this brand well above the local competition when it comes to professionalism and reliability.
Our micro targeted search network advertising is focused on direct conversions, constantly working closely with the business owners to build data on the demographics and behaviours of real clients.

Little Angels YYC
We make sure businesses are seen and heard with unified image and messaging. We created this playful, colourful brand to differentiate in the community and show parents how a down to earth, holistic preschool can benefit their children.

Braydon Regier
What’s in a brand? Verbal and visual articulation of a feeling, collaboration between us as communicators and business owners, then an extension of that throughout different mediums. We created this brand, business cards, sell sheets and responsive website for Braydon, to make sure he stands out above the crowded realtor space.

I’m a senior employee of Airline Ticket Centre.
What challenge were you trying to address with JYZ Design and Marketing?
We wanted to improve the look and overall online visibility of our website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I provide the JYZ Design and Marketing team with the information I want to be included in the ads. Their team formulates weekly email blasts and social media ads. They primarily use Facebook and Instagram as the main mediums for the project. They’ve created flash ads for our site that connect to our e-marketing campaigns for each week.
Additionally, their team redesigned our site to increase the overall UX/UI of the platform. They also implemented SEO tools to increase our look and searchability online.
What is the team composition?
I primarily work with Judy (President, JYZ Design and Marketing) and Rob (Creative Director, JYZ Design and Marketing), but I also interact with their full team.
How did you come to work with JYZ Design and Marketing?
I placed an ad on an employment website, and Judy reached out to me from there. She suggested her team would help us save costs, and we valued her ability to predict that. We hired their team after our first meeting.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve seen a significant increase in social media followers and overall engagement. Our web presence has progressed since beginning the project with them, despite slight hosting issues during transition periods.
How did JYZ Design and Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve met most deadlines. We haven’t had any issues with scheduling—they’re aware of my timelines. Typically, we receive responses from their team the next day. Working with them has been a positive experience.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the managing director of Dynamic Technologies Dynamic Corporation Canada (DTCC). We’re a seismic sensor manufacturer.
What challenge were you trying to address with JYZ Design & Marketing?
Our company started a new product line but lacked the resources to develop a refined marketing strategy. We decided to hire an external partner to provide various marketing services.
What was the scope of their involvement?
JYZ Design & Marketing assists our digital marketing efforts and provides design materials. We asked them to build a website for us as well as design a new business card. They also created a PowerPoint presentation to accompany the brochure they designed for us. Following that, we’ve been advertising in several major magazines within our industry. They help us develop the advertising deliverables for those outlets and perform monthly modifications as needed.
JYZ Design & Marketing are also responsible for regularly updating our social media accounts. When we have any news that needs to be released or posted, I give their team a call and ask them to set something up for us. They also design and distribute the monthly newsletter that’s emailed to our clients. Additionally, we attend 4–5 conventions a year and JYZ Design & Marketing creates the graphics that appear on our convention booths.

I interact with three people including Judy (President & Art Director, JYZ Design & Marketing), Rob (Creative Director & Copywriter, JYZ Design and Marketing), and Josie (Media Production Artist, JYZ Design and Marketing).
How did you come to work with JYZ Design & Marketing?
Judy is a friend of my daughter, so I met her that way.
How much have you invested in them?
We initially engaged with them on an as-needed basis, but then transitioned to a fixed contract relationship. We spend $15,000 per year on their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in February 2016 and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The feedback we’ve received from clients and potential clients has been extremely positive. It indicates that our website and advertising materials look quite attractive. We supply the relevant information, and JYZ Design & Marketing handles the subsequent design process. Now that they manage our social media platforms, we can deliver information to our customers at a faster rate than previously established.
How did JYZ Design & Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re incredibly responsive and almost always complete projects within the estimated timeframe. We usually interact via email, but also use Skype or face-to-face meetings to communicate.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have an innovative way of thinking. Their ideas are entirely different from our previous and more traditional service providers. I’d also like to highlight the responsiveness of each team member assigned to our account.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They need to be more interactive with their clients. Gaining a more in-depth understanding of their client’s business may be helpful in the long run.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Communicate the project’s ultimate goal from the onset. JYZ Design & Marketing will do a better job if they have access to more information.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of operations for Papa Grant Mechanical, which is a heating and AC company.
What challenge were you trying to address with JYZ Design & Marketing?
We initially asked them to do a logo and branding for us, which later expanded to include web design, marketing, and more.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our company is an amalgamation of two companies. After we merged, we needed a logo design to incorporate both logos. They designed the logo and developed our branding.
We liked their work, so we pursued their other services. Judy (President, JYZ Design & Marketing) has done extensive design work for our branding, marketing, website, business cards, and our vehicles.
We are currently doing high impact marketing with them. They continue to take care of our website including SEO work. In addition, they take care of our Facebook and Google ads, and our promotions on our website and elsewhere. They also manage our local advertising.
What is the team composition?
On a day-to-day basis, we mostly interact with Judy, but I’ve also been in touch with their webmaster and their creative director, who does a lot of our marketing. We also worked with their media production artist when Judy was out of town.
How did you come to work with JYZ Design & Marketing?
I was looking for marketing companies in Calgary, and I found an ad for JYZ Design & Marketing on Google. I contacted them and spoke to Judy. We spoke a few times on the phone, and I went to their office to meet with them.
How much have you invested in them?
We’ve invested around $20,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in July 2018 and we have an ongoing relationship.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve received positive feedback from our clients about the website design. Recently, I had a representative from the Yellow Pages comment on our website who said that it was done well and looks great.
We are still in the early stages, so we haven’t had a huge amount of results yet, but our analytics have been high for clicks on our website and marketing so far.
How did JYZ Design & Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?
They have been excellent. We have open communication with Judy, who takes care of all the analytics. She takes our phone calls and responds to emails. If she passes something on to one of her staff members, they respond to us and are courteous. They are all very professional and on time. All of our deadlines have been met.
My wife, who has been helping out with a lot of the marketing, met with Judy and Rob in person to go over some marketing. Most often, we communicate through email and we occasionally speak on the phone.
What did you find most impressive about them?
A lot of businesses I have dealt with are slow to respond. One of the things I liked about JYZ Design & Marketing is that I was able to talk directly with Judy. Everything was upfront and clarified in advance before going ahead with anything. Judy has a great team and I have commended her and her team on all the work that they have done for us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
As they are in the early stages of their business, they are on a learning curve. They should continue to work with companies in their learning curves as well.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
JYZ Design & Marketing is on top of the marketing. I would definitely recommend them to create a logo and design for branding. They did an excellent job for us in a short timeframe. They created a great website and did amazing work on it. I would recommend getting one of the packages that they offer.

Marketing Manager for Pomeroy Lodging (includes Kananaskis Nordic Spa). Kananaskis Nordic Spa is the only Nordic Spa in Alberta which offers a retreat for rest and relaxation in the heart of Kananaskis Valley and the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
For what projects/services did your company hire JYZ Design & Marketing, and what were your goals?
Our original website wasn't meeting our expectations and limited our ability to showcase the property to its full potential. We hired JYZ Design & Marketing to elevate the guests experience and to create a website that was visually appealing and practical for our business.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We've worked with them on other projects in the past and they always exceeded expectations.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
They created a website from scratch, building all content and text on Wordpress from scratch. They were also able to introduce a ChatBot to help us improve our guest relations and assist website visitors. During the initial stages of Covid-19, they were instrumental in assisting with creating a new page to properly inform our guests and visitors.

We worked with three specific team members (Judy, President, Project Director, Josie, Media Production Artist and Jim, Webmaster) who helped us explore new opportunities and build the website to what it is today.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
All team members adored the new design as it was much easier to explore the website and quickly find the information they were looking for. As the business was still growing when we transitioned to the new site, this was an added piece to elevate our business and guest experience.

Communication was seamless, creativity was endless, and the entire project was an exciting process through to the release.
