Frontend App Dev for Software Startup
"The developer who worked on the project made quite an impact."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the founder of a software startup.
What challenge were you trying to address with Josh Software?
We needed help with building a SaaS platform in the analytics space.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Josh Software provided frontend development services, primarily using React JS. They weren't involved in the overall design of the platform, but they recommended and implemented architectural changes that were key to the overall development plan.
We weren't able to provide a lot of documentation upfront, but we did have some mockups on Adobe XD to give them an idea of the kind of screens we wanted. From there, they worked on every screen, and I communicated any needed changes. It was an iterative process.
What is the team composition?
We mainly worked with one developer. In the very initial stages, we also had a project manager.
How did you come to work with Josh Software?
A friend introduced them to me. That recommendation was good enough for me to take a chance. Being located in cities with access to a larger pool of resources helped, but ultimately to due the pandemic everyone went fully remote.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent under $50,000 AUD (approximately $37,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
The project had 2 phases in Q2 2020 and Q2/Q3 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I don't have any specific metrics to share. However, the developer who worked on the project was impactful despite the steep learning curve.
As part of the wider team effort, including Josh, we were to deliver an early beta, in spite of significant challenges.
How did Josh Software perform from a project management standpoint?
We had an agile approach. We had daily 15-minute standup calls and tracked our progress through Trello. Additionally, we collaborated through a shared document for deep feature builds.
What did you find most impressive about them?
While there were initial challenges in trying to fit a suitable resource. They quickly replaced resources who couldn't take on the complexity of the product. Eventually, they brought someone with the necessary expertise. We appreciated that we had options instead of having to settle for one person.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Knowing the complexity of the platform we were building, Josh Software could've managed the resource allocation differently. It would've saved us all time amongst other things.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Things are dynamic and fast-moving for startups, so it's essential to set expectations upfront. If you're building a SaaS platform, you also need to consider the technologies you can use. Then, make sure that Josh Software has the necessary background information, expertise to help identify potential resources and make for a smoother build.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the senior management consultant at TATA Projects, an engineering company. I’m part of the services division which is based on a 150-year-old philosophy of testing, inspection, and certifications.
We’re into inspection services, expediting services, and operation, repair, and maintenance services. Customers usually come to us with a problem in the area of monitoring, tracking, and tracing, and during COVID-19, the need for doing remote monitoring has become very high.
Our company has a presence in 40 countries, and we serve a large number of steam manufacturers in India. We’re also one of the 169 companies in a larger, $100 billion target group. The other divisions that we have are the construction tech services (CTS) division which deals with building in 3D, 4D, and 5D and the integrated project management services (IPMS) which typically deals with construction consulting. I set these departments up three and a half years ago.
What challenge were you trying to address with Josh Software?
We needed an agency that could develop a custom platform for us, so we brought in Josh Software.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We have a basket of device, network, and software partners for whom we wanted to create a unified portal. We wanted this platform to allow clients to easily navigate through all of the services that they’ve purchased in one place.
The content came from us while Josh Software developed the backbone infrastructure and the coding. We provided the business ideas and specifications for how we wanted the portal to work, but we involved their software expertise in conceptualizing the idea for the content and material. We held long discussions to put all of the elements into a user-friendly format.
Josh Software then developed a website with product service lines for man, machine, material, and sustainability. They created buttons and tabs that I could seamlessly navigate through to get to the operational dashboard or to the analytics.
The team now continues to support the backend of our portal. They also continue to develop and evolve the platform to the next level.
What is the team composition?
We work with the COO & CTO of the company as well as with a software lead, a UI/UX designer, and a QA.
How did you come to work with Josh Software?
We had a partner prior to them who failed at meeting our expectations, so our COO recommended Josh Software. We evaluated them on a couple of small test projects and hired them when we saw that they had the ability and depth to learn and scale up with us.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in May 2020 and the partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Josh Software has done a good job with the UI/UX. They’ve understood our business, proactively made suggestions of what would look better, and delivered the product correctly. We’ve only used it internally but once we scale up and take the product to the market, it will surely be a one-stop-shop for our customers. Thus far, I’ve gotten a lot of good comments about how the portal is shaping up.
How did Josh Software perform from a project management standpoint?
We’ve seen Josh Software evolve throughout this project. Despite the learning curve and initial roadblocks, since this is a new industry to them, Josh Software quickly picked up after about 2–3 months. The team has come to have a good grip on the business, requirements, and timelines.
In the last two releases, in the last six months, I haven’t seen any radical delays that impacted the business. They’ve been punctual 95% of the time and have shown constant availability and forthcomingness.
I’ve opted not to have a chat tool because a lot of clarity is required with this work, so we’ve been communicating via Microsoft Teams and email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The UI/UX design was exceptional; it was Josh Software’s strong suit. They did a fantastic job at delivering what we asked for in terms of the parameters. The team met all of our expectations.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could improve a little on project coordination and could scale up faster.

Custom Software Dev & Staff Augmentation for Fitness Company

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the lead software engineer of a fitness company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Josh Software?
We have a small to medium-sized engineering team made up of 6–7 people. Whenever there’s a certain feature we would like to implement that our small team can’t spare the time for, we typically bring in Josh Software. We’ve worked with them on a lot of projects such as mobile app and web development.
What was the scope of their involvement?
One of the more recent projects that we just finished is a fitness machine with a tablet and a bunch of pads that people can punch — like hardware for boxing training. We wanted the capability to live stream workouts to users, so we contacted Josh Software to create the backend. They also created a website for us where we can schedule the live workouts and denote its content for the user to see.
One of the things we think would be good to highlight on our boxing machine is the accelerometer sensors. Whenever someone punches our machine, the data of the punch gets sent to the tablet, so we worked with them to make the data transmission faster. In addition to that, they’ve helped us with the front- and backend development of the website, with the frontend using JavaScript and React, and a .NET app written in C# for the backend. They also built our mobile app using Flutter and Java.
Right now, we’re currently developing a product that would need to be paired with a Bluetooth app of our own design — we gave that device to Josh Software to implement it for us.
What is the team composition?
The size of the Josh Software team scales depending on the project, because they have a lot of people under their umbrella who they delegate to different projects. I usually work with about 4–5 engineers, including a project manager.
How did you come to work with Josh Software?
Our company has actually been working with them for many years before I joined. We’ve continued to work with them because they’ve always delivered.
How much have you invested with them?
The latest project that we closed out was the live training website, and the total cost of that project was around $35,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our partnership started in June 2020, and it’s still ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Whenever we’re working with them, we try to delineate specific requirements, which they always deliver. However, the reason we’re so hyper-specific to the particular numbers is that on some of our previous projects, I felt that they might’ve not envisioned the same output of the performance as we did — it resulted in miscommunications and the deliverable wasn’t what we expected, even if it was technically delivered according to the contract.
How did Josh Software perform from a project management standpoint?
From a project management standpoint, they’re fantastic, especially since they recently brought on some newer project managers. For the first few weeks of a project, they’ll be sitting down with me to make sure they understand what it is they’re supposed to be making. They’ll also do weekly calls where they’ll show me a document that’ll have specific changes to the code, which I really like as an engineer.
I can actually concretely see what they’re working on, what they did in the past week, and the goals for next week. For the project management tool, we actually use Jira internally — but between Josh Software and I, a lot of it would be in their hands so we don’t necessarily need a project management software.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Initially, we’ve just been using them to augment our team size and to have extra hands to implement something to the platform. What really impresses me is that they have a roster of engineers who are able to do things that even my team probably couldn’t. No one in my team necessarily has the expertise to complete the requirements that we would like for the project, but Josh Software does.
They have such a wide array of engineers under their umbrella, that they always have someone in their team that knows how to do what we’re going to ask.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We’ve noticed that they will always complete the requirement for it to function properly, but the code itself isn’t always that great. They’ll write the code to work, but not necessarily write it to be readable, maintainable, or editable in the future. Josh Software is really good at developing the code, and it’ll work the way we describe it — but the code itself isn’t of the highest quality.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My only advice is whenever you’re drafting the details, the requirements, time frames, and expected deliverables, be as specific as possible. They always deliver everything that’s in there, but sometimes, you have to be hyper-specific about what’s intended for the project.

E-Commerce Dev for Automobile Auction Company
"We’re very happy with the work that they deliver."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder of a transferring auto portal where we auction automobiles. It’s a one-stop solution to all problems related to purchasing, selling, loan insurance, transfer assistance, accessory servicing, etc. — everything gets solved at our portal.
What challenge were you trying to address with Syntex Limited?
We wanted a team that could support our tech and could help us in scaling up the business — it was very important because the auctions and offers we give to people are all online. We needed a team that could continually run the data, operate, and manage the entire tech part of the business.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They’re responsible for the entire development of our e-commerce website. I only told them my idea and they took care of everything else including design, development, maintenance, handling the database, and the servers.
We had an existing website but they changed the entire system. They built it from scratch and made it better than the previous one. They used Ruby on Rails for the development and they continue to make changes to upgrade the website.
What is the team composition?
There are six people and my main point of contact is the coder. I explain my entire product description to him, and he then takes care of it with the team.
How did you come to work with Syntex Limited?
They were referred by a friend. I went to their office to meet the team, and I really liked the founder — he’s very passionate about the work that he does. His way of presenting is very different compared to what I had already seen from other tech people. I went ahead and partnered with them.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve spent around 30 lakhs (approximately $59,900 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in October 2020, and our partnership is still ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I completely rely on them, rendering me completely free of the tech part of the business — it helps me to focus more on the operations that I want to look after. The success metric is good as they’re able to complete 85% of the work within the timeframe they give. There’s 15% of up and down, which are currently in discussions due to COVID-19. Nonetheless, we’re very happy with the work that they deliver.
How did Syntex Limited perform from a project management standpoint?
We use Trello where they update all that needs to be done and what is in what stage. We communicate via messages or phone calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re passionate about meeting the goal, they put in the effort, and take ownership.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The timeline is sometimes an issue but it’s only because of COVID-19.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice is to be honest and upfront with management, and always explain your vision and idea.

Mobile App Enhancement for Athletics Software Dev Company

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m one of the co-founders at REPu, and we’re a software development company that builds mobile apps and websites for high school athletics. Our REPu app is basically an ESPN app that schools use for their community schedules, rosters, scores, news, photos, videos, and all that stuff.
What challenge were you trying to address with Josh Software?
We had a mobile app that we were looking to upgrade from an older code base that we weren’t happy with. We wanted to pivot a little bit and be more flexible.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Josh Software is upgrading our existing mobile app. We initially connected with the Josh team on a React Native app build. Not only will we get a more flexible and up-to-date code base, but it’ll also allow us to add more features to our platform. This development is a critical step for us because we know we’ve been wanting to upgrade for a couple of years. It’s going to allow us to advance our platform, and deliver a lot of the features and needs of the schools they’ve been wanting over the last few years.
The current project is wrapping up and will be launched in July. moving forward, they’ll still be doing updates and enhancements for us.
What is the team composition?
I don’t know the full development team as we’ve been on a few build reviews. However, we’re working with two technical leads and a project lead. We’re also working with another developer from their team for the enhancement of our CMS platform.
How did you come to work with Josh Software?
One of my co-founders initially found and connected with them, but I’m not sure whether or not they found Josh Software online. We were in talks with three firms and we went with Josh Software because we felt comfortable with them, and the price point they had was where we were looking to start.
They had this ability to communicate and understand our needs just in the earlier discussions. What appealed to us was they knew what they were talking about.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The ongoing partnership started in January 2021. Hopefully, we’re going to continue working with them because we have some additional projects that we want to do. It’s going to be easier working with them since they understand our platform a little better now.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve been working with them and we’re able to see updates and milestones, which is good. They’ve been communicating well, they’re always responsive, and in terms of delivery and staying on track, they’ve been great.
How did Josh Software perform from a project management standpoint?
We have a number of different channels. Slack and Jira are our main tools of communication, and they’ve been great — it hasn’t been a problem.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The biggest issues with overseas development are communication, timeframe, and culture. We haven’t had any struggles with the Josh team because they understand us. We have documentation of the development and the business which they just need to implement, and it’s been good.
They’ve been great compared to the previous overseas development firm we used — it’s been night and day.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Not really. The only thing they can improve on is to posture themselves as more of a US-based development company, but they don’t really need to. However, if I’m being honest, I might pay an extra $20,000 if we can work in the same time zone, and cut down on communication hours. Although it’s not really an expectation, it would just be amazing if they could do that.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I would tell them to give their expectations to Josh Software upfront. Be vocal about your concerns because they've handled everything that we've communicated with them, and made sure it wasn't going to be a concern for us further.

Web Dev & Design, Staff Augmentation for EdTech Company
"We know we aren't taking a risk when hiring Josh Software — they are completely worth it."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of an e-learning and educational products company.
What challenges were you trying to address with Josh Software?
We contacted them because we needed staff augmentation and web development services.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’ve had multiple projects with Josh Software. First, we hired them to augment our IT capacity and support us when our company was working on developing our core product. This product later grew into a platform, and we hired them again to help us with these changes.
The staff has developed our website, working on its backend and designing it with us. It’s been a development project with a lot of customization, so they’ve used Ruby on Rails and MongoDB.
What is the team composition?
We began working with two resources, but since the project has grown, we’ve worked with 5–6 people — one of them being a project manager and the rest as developers.
How did you come to work with Josh Software?
Josh Software is very well known for their work with Ruby on Rails, which is the technology we wanted to use, so it was a combination between them having great references and us choosing Ruby on Rails as the best choice for our needs.
How much have you invested in them?
Our business has invested around $80,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Josh Software in September 2014, and the main project was concluded in 2015. Currently, they support us with small projects and updates.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
As for quantifiable results, we’ve searched our platform for bugs, and we’ve found a very reduced amount of them.
How did Josh Software perform from a project management standpoint?
We are very satisfied with their project management. Our team has tracked their deliveries using Trello, and all of them have been on schedule. We use different project management tools and follow a pretty standard methodology, in which we send them the cases, and they come back to us if they have any additional requirements.
The project manager is technically very strong and asks all relevant questions beforehand. We also have regular phone calls and emails when needed.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We’ve worked with other companies in the last six years and know that some of them are cheaper. However, when our business has a complex project, we know we aren't taking a risk when hiring Josh Software — they are completely worth it.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Sometimes their processes take a bit longer than expected, so for smaller and quicker projects, this can be an inconvenience.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be very clear in your requirements to make the partnership more viable.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the co-founder of a logistics company, we operate across 9 countries
For what projects/services did your company hire Josh Software, and what were your goals?
We wanted to automate a lot of our manual processes with workflow design. Our goal was to integrate various offline processes to enable seamless data flow and create better visibility for the management. We also wanted to provide our end customers with real time information and structured reporting.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We found that the team at John was well equipped to meet our demands. We were initially handled by one of the founders- Mr.Gautam and his understanding and approach was what won him the project.
They were willing to spend time with us, understanding our requirement and also willing to work within the budget we had seta side for this project.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The scope of work involved understanding our entire business flow and dynamics. They infact went ahead and sent one of their senior partners to come and spend time with us in Africa and understand all the nuances of our business.
They created an indepth report identifying each aspect of our business and gave us solutions to manage them. The entire application was built on Ruby on rails.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We had the Co-Founder Mr.Gautam who was handholding us, and we were very closely working with a senior partner Mr.Sameer along with 3 Jr associates.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The project for us is present continuous. We have managed to meet and deliver all timelines as set out in the schedule. We have also managed to achieve developments which weren't scheduled but were ad-hoc. The team is very flexible and understand the sensitivity of our requests and helps us prioritize the same.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
They would typically give us a schedule for every module we decide to implement. They were very efficient to bring the module on the test server on or before the deadline.
They are available on phone/email/whatsapp and i have also called them way past working times in india. They have always attended to my call and also given me a solution to ensure work continues.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They were full of energy, and they were always eager to learn. They never take a project for the sake of taking it, they invest time to understand our business/issues. They have also been very accommodating when it comes to change management.
I feel the Founders along with all the partners display a very high level of commitment to the project if or not they are directly involved. For us, that was a winner as we were always assured we are in the safest hands.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The quality of output is great, i am sure going forward they can do a lot more with the UI team. I feel the effort sometimes gets unnoticed due to the quality of UI> having said that, we are also very demanding as a client.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the co-founder of Quirklabs LLP. We are headquartered in Pune, India since 2019.
For what projects/services did your company hire Josh Software?
Our company's mobile app - Flip - was developed by Josh in 2019 as an MVP, and then we upgraded the feature set and UI in 2020. Further, Josh also developed the web version of Flip in mid-2020 to make it a full-scale product.
What were your goals for this project?
Flip pilot version was launched in 2019 to test acceptance and easy of use among children age 6-14 years. The full version in 2020 was launched as a digital learning platform to be used by schools and institutions online education. The goal was to gather 5000 users by 2020, and 50000 users by 2023.
How did you select Josh Software?
We were looking for a software vendor in 2019, when my co-founder's college friend (Jaidev Karanth) recommended Josh, headed by Gautam Rege who was friends with Jaidev. We interviewed Josh along with 3 other companies, and eventually finalised with them based on their track record and talented team.
Describe the project in detail.
Our flagship product - Flip - has 2 capabilities, crowd-sourced book sharing and digital education platform. It is completely cloud-based with the back-end in RoR and front end in Dart/Flutter. While we started in 2019, the build of the development happened in 2020.
What was the team composition?
Initially we were assigned a 6-person team:
- 1 project manager (Abhijeet)
- 2 back-end developer (Snehal, Vaibhav)
- 1 front-end developer (Abhijit)
- 1 tester (Snehal), and a senior manager overseeing the project (Sameer)
Note that there were 2 different Abhijits and 2 different Snehals. Later, Dipti took over the project manager role, Vishwajeet and Prashant took over back-end. Sameer has played the lead from the beginning to date, which has proved to be helpful.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
First build was completed in 3 months, which allowed us to launch the pilot quickly. App was very stable and with very few bugs.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
I'd like to believe that I enjoyed a good rapport with both the project managers. I always gave a product backlog, it was discussed in detail, and then work started. This proved to be effective.
There were occasional arguments, but generally solved peacefully. When required, issues were escalated to Sameer, and eventually resolved.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Turn around time for high-severity incidents is very good, showing commitment to the project and instills confidence. Every single time, a workable solution was found and implemented. The management is highly qualified and committed to the project in terms of development, maintenance, and strategy.
Are there any areas for improvement?
A definite area of improvement is testing - better testing will definitely enhance quality of deliverable.

Niwant Andh Mukta Vikasalay is a non profit, that works with visually impaired students pursuing higher education in India. We work on the holistic development of VI students, giving them help with regards to; educational, personality development skills, access to great quality tech as well as monetary help from 11th std till they get jobs.
For what projects/services did your company hire Josh Software, and what were your goals?
We hired Josh Software, to create a revolutionary accessible Typing Tutor named SWALEKHAN, for the Visually Challenged students in India. We want to help create a world, where VI students in India can take their exams independently without the need of a scribe. The only way to do this, was to empower them to type on their own, in the vernacular language of their state. For eg. in Maharashtra there are 40 blind schools, and all of them are Marathi Medium.
Hence typing in Devnagri, the script for Marathi Language became imperative. Josh understood the complexities of creating such an app, which would be used entirely by the visually impaired, as well as a backend CMS which would also be used by the visually impaired, and successfully created Swalekhan for us.
How did you select Josh Software and what were the deciding factors?
We were looking for firms that understood the importance of the work we were doing, and the revolution that this application would create. There was no such application in the India available for visually impaired students.
Josh not only understood the gravity of the work we were doing, but also learnt accessible technology in detail. They also quoted an amount that was affordable to us as a non profit.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Key deliverables were to:
- Create a self learning app with accessible lessons and games, for visually impaired students in schools while over coming challenges such as limited internet connectivity, lack of mobile usage knowledge, and typing via a physical keyboard attached to the phone:
- Add multiple languages to the app, as the first roll out in Maharashtra was successful, and now the same app needs to be rolled out across India for other vernacular languages
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Chandrashekhar Sahu works with us on a regular basis from the beginning of the project led by Sachin Shintre initially. Gautam Rege, who is also a well wisher and supporter of our cause from our initial years of inception, has also been involved with key decisions and timelines.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Great work on this front till now. Most timelines are met.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
We use google sheets with them, as from our end we have many visually impaired individuals, helping create content and test the app. But internally I am aware that they are highly organised.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their empathetic approach towards the world of the visually impaired. Chandrashekhar Sahu, barring the one time he felt a bit hassled, has been most patient with us and our requirements.
We were definitely not an easy bunch to work with, and they accommodate almost all our requests. They have gone into deep understanding of accessibility protocols. They hired a visually impaired individual to further enhance the experience and speed of execution for us.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Not that I can think of.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder of an IT security company. We use Zero Trust Access to provide secure remote access solutions for enterprises.
What challenge were you trying to address with Josh Software?
We first hired them to help us build our initial product. As time went by, we needed them to be a core part of our engineering resources for our SaaS development.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Josh Software is mainly in charge of our SaaS offering. Their resources do a lot of backend development on our API server and the identity authentication services that we offer. Their team entirely uses Go Programming Language by Google for this development project.
So far, they’ve developed our APIs for both administrators and users. They use OpenID Connect and SAML protocols to work on authentication, delegation, and federation.
What is the team composition?
Currently, we work with a manager who leads the team and four additional developers.
How did you come to work with Josh Software?
We’ve connected with them because we’ve discovered that Josh (Founder) and some of the key resources we’ve hired are experts on Go and active members of the Go community in India. They’ve turned out to be great partners for us.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested around $400,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started in June 2017 and our collaboration is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our metrics for the success of this project center on our standard engineering courses, in terms of quality and feature velocity. We measure how Josh Software handles bug issues and delivers features — and they’ve been highly productive. We’ve been improving over time because of their tremendous focus on quality.
How did Josh Software perform from a project management standpoint?
We have weekly planning meetings with the manager to figure out all the work that we have to do for the week. He delegates tasks accurately among his team members. He understands their capacity, and that transparency ensures that they can deliver the features we need.
They also provide daily updates where we are presented with the current status of every engineering ethic being pursued by their team.
What did you find most impressive about them?
One is Josh Software’s dedication. They really feel like a part of our team and care about the product of their work as a whole, not just as one component.
The second thing we like is their constant culture of improving and learning. They’ve brought innovations into our coding style that have permeated throughout the rest of our company. They're always bringing novel ideas for improvement, and these work out well for us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Not at this time. Compared to a few years ago, they have shown a rise in their level of maturity as a team, and I’m super happy with that.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Josh Software is a very honest team that’ll tell you right away what they’re good at and what they’re not good at — just trust them on that. In times where an area may not be their great deal of strength, they will be very willing to refer you to other companies that can help you with those.
Despite the steep learning curve, Josh Software provided impactful deliverables. The team's dedication to finding the best resource for the complex project was impressive. When it came to problem-solving, they were proactive and reliable. Communicative and agile, they facilitated a smooth process.
