NPS MedicineWise
This is an independent, not-for-profit organisation working to improve the way health technologies, medicines, and medical tests are prescribed and used. They had an application that helped people keep track of their medicine intake by providing reminders and important information about their prescribed medication.
The client wanted to revamp the experience for existing customers and also to expand their customer base. To achieve this, we had to update certain outdated libraries in their codebase. We also revamped their user registration and login process which was originally done using Webview. We managed to deliver a new application, even with the many challenges and within the timeframe required.

RemindSet
The project is the brainchild of the client himself. Drawing from his personal experience, he wanted to create an app that will send affirmations to the users to motivate them and boost their spirits during their day-to-day lives. On top of that, we had to create a one-page website that will highlight details about the app as well as the company’s T&C and Privacy Policy.
In order to provide the best possible user interface and user experience, the app was built natively using Firebase for the Frontend/Backend and Firestone for the database. We had to work on a tight schedule, but managed to meet the deadlines set for our client to get the application live on the Appstore and Playstore.

Working Dog CRM
Working Dog is a film and TV production company that needed to migrate to the cloud a database of over 100,000 contacts that’s kept on an Excel spreadsheet. The company felt the need to veer away from managing its audience using Google Docs and Sheets. The solution is to simplify and streamline the process by creating a custom CRM.
All contacts have been migrated, email service has been integrated to provide for the sending of individual invitation messages, and custom audience management software has been developed to provide an interactive and intuitive interface. The CRM is now being used and the client is happy and satisfied with how it is helping them manage their growing audience.

Art&Found
We had the pleasure of building their e-commerce platform for curated art. The platform brings together buyers and sellers – one where artists put up digital artwork and buyers get their choice of categorised art.
In search of a cost-effective solution, we decided to use a well-supported open-source e-commerce platform so we could get a jump start into the development process, yet leave wiggle room for future customization in order to accommodate the ever-changing nature of the art world.
After plenty of research, we went with opencart and then customized the website, creating modules that fit in together perfectly to create a great artist and buyer experience. The project took off in 2015 and we continue to work on it to cater to the evolving needs of the client.
It makes us so proud to say that Art&Found attracted an exponential user base in the first year and was featured in articles from Young Turks, The Indian Express, CNBC, and many more. They got the attention of angel investors and procured a VC fund within the same year. They are currently valued at USD 2$M and are looking to further expand their business.

Secure Browser
As the name suggests, this is a secure browser for students taking online and offline exams. For foolproof test-taking, the client wanted to regulate access to utilities and system functions, preventing application switching and unauthorised device resources being used during an assessment. The tool needed to be built out on all major platforms – Windows, Mac OS, iOS, Android, and Chromebook.
We decided to use the open-source Chromium project and it turned out to be an excellent choice due to its availability and timely updates on all the platforms we set out to build the tool for. It has been over 2 years since this tool was launched and it has steadily acquired popularity and success. Our client has been able to motivate more institutions to use their platform to improve security and efficiency for student evaluations.

Scootle
This is the national digital teaching and learning repository, providing access to more than 20,000 resources aligned to the Australian Curriculum. We worked with them on a flash to HTML5 conversion project. We were asked to convert over 150 flash based interactive games into HTML 5 so they can be accessible on all devices. These games needed to work in a self-contained package as well as in offline mode.
We used HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery to replicate the flash games. We also created reusable modules which could seamlessly function across games so we could reduce development time. For testing, we used Jira to manage any bugs and partnered with external testers to get the tasks done much faster.

University of Melbourne
The law school at the university of Melbourne needed to replace their existing application to manage their courses and ongoing semester schedules better. The existing system, built on old technology, was falling apart and they were looking to upgrade the department management experience using modern technology.
The client now has a self-sustained system that is being used to manage their coursework and prospectus every semester. The outcome was fantastic and the clients are very happy with the product they received – a fresh new system that can be updated as well as all the documentation they needed to maintain it.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of Mayko Maintenance Pty Ltd, and I’m in the process of creating apps.
What challenge were you trying to address with Jhavtech Studios?
I hired them to develop our app.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I turned over the prototype I had with Jhavtech Studios. After which, they've developed the iOS and Android app, which is a mindfulness and motivation platform. Users can receive quotes through notifications and they've been able to implement the quotes including the user's name and other features.
They then set up our website, landing page, UI/UX, and other things. They've been able to link the landing page to the App Store which takes users straight to the app. The graphics and the visuals they've used on the landing page are based on the prototype we've given them. They’ve been able to provide marketing and consulting services, too. In addition, they have partners that can help with grants and marketing and everything else. Through this project, I've met with a lot of their partners.
What is the team composition?
We’ve only talked to Rahul (Founder & Director) and Sid (Head of Technology & Delivery), but I imagine they have a team supporting them. Sid serves as the project lead.
How did you come to work with Jhavtech Studios?
The people that did the app prototype suggested working with Jhavtech Studios. Based on all the interviews, knowledge, and experience they had, I chose them.
How much have you invested in them?
We’ve spent close to $30,000–$40,000 AUD (approximately $21,660–$28,880 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
Our partnership began in June 2021, and we are going through maintenance right now.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Jhavtech Studios has been very good; they work well with me and they’ve done everything they could to make my vision become a reality. We’ve just launched the app, and the feedback we’ve received has been positive. People are quite happy with the app and the idea behind it.
How did Jhavtech Studios perform from a project management standpoint?
We have a list of payment terms when we set up the contract, so we govern everything through that. Essentially, once a milestone is achieved, we release payment. So far, that arrangement works well. For budget, although we've set our preferred cost, there have been a few extras we've had to spend because there have been things that have been difficult to pre-determine. Despite that, their cost has been reasonable.
On communication, we’ve been impressed by their ability to keep us in the loop about what’s going on all the time; they consistently send us weekly updates and summaries. More importantly, there’s always clarity on what they’re going to do next.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The fact that they’re local has been a big thing and that’s probably something that has helped me a lot. On top of that, they’re transparent, and if there are any problems, nothing is too hard for them. Overall, they’ll do whatever it takes to overcome an issue.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No. I’ve been pretty happy with our overall experience. Although the actual submission process of the app took a bit longer than expected, that was no fault of anyone. We mostly waited on Apple and fixed their feedback, so we had a lot of back and forth during that process.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Contact Jhavtech Studios, and you’ll see everything you need to know about them. They have a website that makes it easy to get in touch with them. They’ve done a very good job with me, and I strongly recommend them.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I work for a Wire and Cable Manufacturer based in Sydney and at the time I was working as a project manager within the Research & Development team. We have a large scale production process where we make cables for both energy and telecom and place them on cable drums of varying sizes to be used in various projects or for trade and installers all around Australia.
For what projects/services did your company hire Jhavtech Studios?
The project that we hired Jhavtech for was to develop a cable drum tracking system that would allow the users/customers to accurately log and track the cable drums throughout their site at minimal cost. This was to be done without the use of RFIDs to make the process cheaper and easier to implement.
It involved assigning unique barcodes to all of our drums and required the use of both a mobile app to help scan the drums as well as the development of a web portal that would provide the users/customers with the ability to view their inventory and the locations of the various drums throughout their project site.
What were your goals for this project?
The idea would be that when they received them, the app would allow the customer to scan the barcode on the drum and it would display some key information about the drum i.e. length, cable type, etc.
As the scanning occurred a location pin would be created that would allow the customer to view where that drum was last scanned and all the relevant details associated with it on an online portal.
The major goal was to be able to create an inventory management system for our customer to be able to use that would be a differentiator and allow us to have another competitive edge over our competitors.
The goal was to also create this without the need for expensive RFID like fixtures that would have to be affixed to the actual drum, this is to ensure that no physical property of the company's would have to be used externally.
How did you select Jhavtech Studios?
We received quotes and suggestions from various organisations with Jhavtech being one of them. When having the call with Jhavtech, Rahul was able to provide very interesting ideas about the initial platform and our needs and was also able to provide potential solutions to some of the initial problems that we had.
His knowledge and expertise with regard to the mobile app development were of particular highlight as he was able to explain exactly what was necessary for it to be easily available to all phone types and the processes involved in that. Jhavtech was also able to provide a very competitive price structure that caught our attention as he was able to accurately assess what was necessary.
Describe the project in detail.
The project was to develop an inventory management system for our customer as mentioned before. This was to be done through the development of IOS and Android apps as well as a web platform. As soon as we choose Jhavtech as our developer we made swift progress with finalising the details of the project.
Rahul was very flexible with his availability and was in frequent contact throughout the project timeline. We arranged weekly progress meetings to go through what was happening, any updates, issues, testing, etc...
These were excellent and allowed us to accurately plan each stage of the process as well as raise any issues or concerns quickly to resolve them. This level of contact and information sharing was the standard throughout the project and it was maintained for the project span.
What was the team composition?
Rahul was the project manager on Jhavtech's end and he made us aware of 2 other backend developers as well as a tester that was made available as necessary to find any glitches or bugs within the app. The point of contact was only ever Rahul and this made the project flow well as all lines of communication were clear and concise.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Within a month of creating the app and web platform we were able to secure tenders based on the inventory management system and were able to differentiate ourselves from competitors.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Rahul was very easy to communicate with and was very attentive to our needs and requirements. He was also flexible with his time to ensure that we were being looked after and kept up to date with any information. All the communication lines were clear and were transparent throughout the process which allowed us to achieve our goal.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I think the knowledge of Jhavtech and the ability to understand our needs as well as execute them was what most impressed me. There were times that we had ideas but were unsure of how best to execute them. This is where Rahul and his team excelled in providing us with smart, creative solutions that we were extremely happy with. Jhavtech's on time delivery was also a point to note as they were able to get us our product in the desired time frame and meet all deadlines that were agreed upon. Jhavtech's design also impressed us as they were able to utilise our company's colours to create a design that was unique and stylish whilst still functional and professional. I would also like to reiterate that a very impressive feature of our project with Jhavtech was the open communication lines. We had a crystal clear view of what was going on and when it was going on. Any and all questions were dealt with swiftly and we knew where we stood at all points of the project.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I had a thoroughly enjoyable experience so I wouldn't say there was much in the way of improvement for Jhavtech. I cannot speak highly enough about Rahul and his team.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Product Lead for the MedicineWise app. We are a not for profit organisation partly funded by the Department of Health providing practical tools (such as medicines lists), evidence-based information, and educational activities, with the intention of improving the way health technologies, including how medicines and medical tests are prescribed and used.
For what projects/services did your company hire Jhavtech Studios?
For the NPS MedicineWise mobile application development services (iOS and Android.)
What were your goals for this project?
- Improve the usability of the existing mobile application (iOs and Android) , the goal was to provide a platform to enable access by users and their carers to trusted information about medicines, health conditions and tests that will enable them to manage their medicines schedule quickly and easily.
- Expand features tailored to users , elderly population and to those that care for others to meet their needs, allowing them access to monitor and manage medicines intake, but also to view relevant content to foster better medicine choices and decisions.
- Increase health literacy, confidence and competence around medicines and medical tests, and to provide a platform that will enhance user interactions with health professionals.
- Partner with a technology company that could assist us in guidance and advice on improving usability, accessibility and uptake of a digital platform (app) to assist in users medicines management , particularly cohorts with chronic health conditions and the elderly.
How did you select Jhavtech Studios?
Through a vendor procurement process.
Describe the project in detail.
The project included an overhaul of the User Interface and expansion of the existing product features to improve the medicine management journey of users that were on a complex medicines routine.
The product also needed to support non-professional carers who were looking after medicine management of their family and friends through the creation of multiple user profiles with a robust appointment and medicines reminders facility to ensure medicine adherence and safety, and health appointments were attended.
The app needed to link to a comprehensive Australian medicines database, it required for access to consumer medicines information and other health related resources to improve a user’s health literacy.
Additional functionality on mapping and managing health conditions, test and measurements , symptoms and side effects were required to give users and share with their health professionals (through email reports) a snapshot view of their health at a given point in time.
What was the team composition?
This was a great example of team collaboration from multiple domains. It was a combination of the internal NPS MedicineWise Product Team, NPS MedicineWise Clinical and domain knowledge experts (clinicians), a team of UX/UI experts and Jhavtech’s development team to ensure this project was delivered on time.
Jhavtech’s team included:
- Project manager
- 3 developers
- 1 designer
- 1 tester
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
When looking at progress or app success, the key factors were to improve ease of use for users but at the same time provide them with a breadth of modules/tools so they can store and retrieve a health snapshot for themselves and to share with their health professionals.
We have had great success in the first instance (as seen in the results below), but will continue this journey in improving the app to meet the needs of those with chronic condition and complex medicines while improving the utility of the app overall.
In a recent user survey: 85% of users found the app’s user interface and navigation easy to use 96% of users found the app’s features to be relevant and useful in helping them with medicine management Consumer Testimonials and Feedback from a recent evaluation (2019):
“I tell everybody, not just carers but other people on multiple medications. I tell them to get this app, its brilliant.”
“Yes I would because it is helpful. If one of my friends was having trouble remembering to take their medicines, I would tell them to get this on their phone and just put everything they are taking on it so it can remind them.”
“It’s pretty good. It does just about everything that you want it to, in terms of tracking not only when you have got to take it, what you are taking and you can do more than one person.”
“I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as everyone says, so it has actually probably exceeded them.”
“I can keep everything in one place, whether it be medications, results from tests, being able to keep all of the doctor’s information in one particular area from multiple providers.”
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Very effective. I was impressed by their focus on communication and service. Communication was very open and responsive. We managed to find a good rhythm very early on in the project, and they were easily able to adapt to our working style.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The relationship with Jhavtech has grown from a customer-vendor relationship to one of trusted partner. They are truly an extension of the product team ensuring the apps goals are met through understanding our customer requirements.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Areas of improvement were identified, discussed and implemented in the 'feedback loop' so the team could incorporate lessons learnt into the next sprint goal.
