We make engaging videos without visual compromise.
We believe that video is meant to be transformative. Reach new audiences, inspire viewers to make meaningful change in their lives, tell a story that needs to be heard, or convey ideas that add value to the world. In today's internet-driven culture, there is no better way to communicate than through the power of video.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I work as a freelance creative as a Filmmaker and video editor.
For what projects/services did your company hire Jayme Cowley Media Co., and what were your goals?
I hired Jayme for all of the cinematography aspects of our film project. I was unable to be on location for this film shoot and wanted to hire someone I trusted to do a better job than I ever could with the cinematography and pre-production planning.
Jayme has incredible attention to detail and care in the planning and execution of the work he does and I had no doubt in my mind that he could easily get this job done.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I've worked with Jayme on a few productions and he has a flawless track record and has always filled the gaps in our company's skillset. It was an easy decision as I know I can trust Jayme to not only deliver what is being asked of him but to improve on that original vision.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
We began with a meeting discussing our roles in the project. The project included six training films to educate city employees on better serving the homeless population. The overall process included pre-production planning, including film location scouting, along with script refining, casting, and budgeting. Production included lighting, sound, and filming.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
Jayme had specifically taken on all of the visual cinematography aspects but was also instrumental in budgeting, planning, and taking the project as a whole to a new level of quality. He created a realistic budget, addressed issues with the projects plan and made helpful solutions. He also guided our casting decisions and we can tell his years of experience with short film directing came into play here.
The feedback process was incredibly simple, when I had suggestions or concerns, I presented them to Jayme and we worked out each possible solution. If I ever felt anxious about the projects direction or was unsure about how to approach a problem I knew I could lean on Jayme for reassurance, direction and general help.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Because this training series was delivered to a client and screened internally we solely have to rely on client feedback. The client was incredibly happy and mentioned that feedback from the company was highly positive and that it met all of their needs. The client has hired Jayme and I on more than one occasion and to me that shows that the work Jayme created was of high quality.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Jayme worked with us through email, text, zoom, and by phone. Depending on the importance of the conversation, Jayme made the effort to create time for face-to-face conversations. His clear communication style and rock-solid confidence created ease for me throughout each step of the process.
If Jayme was available in the moment he would be there, if not, he would clearly communicate the earliest time he would be available. His response time was mostly instant or within minutes of initially reaching out to him.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They were confident in their skills and consistently surprised me with how high quality they created the visuals. Jayme has very high standards and where I may have made suggestions that unintentionally may create lower results he insists on quality. Jayme strives for the highest quality work, and is persistent in doing so.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
There are always places to improve, for any person or company. It's difficult to say where Cowley Media Co. could improve. Sometimes I would like to get a shot or set up done quickly and potentially sacrifice quality.
Jayme doesn't do things this way. he doesn't just get a setup or shot "in the can" without ensuring that it's of the highest quality. The project and it's success comes first and he does whatever he can to make sure it's above and beyond client expectations.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Art Director at Response Advertising. Our agency specializes in multicultural advertising, and all kinds of other creative services including market research, strategic planning, creative development, media planning and buying, sponsorships, and etc.
For what projects/services did your company hire Jayme Cowley Media Co.?
Our agency was looking for a long term and reliable vendor for video production over the years, as we do a lot of video adaptations for our national clients like Toyota and TELUS. For adaptation campaigns, our ask is to provide in-language translations of different campaigns' messages in English. Jayme was hired to help develop these in-language video creatives. He has been delivering outstanding video editing and problem-solving skills that meet the campaigns' requirements and timelines.
How did you select this vendor?
It was through a referral by a trusted connection. We arranged a meeting for us to get to know Jayme and his scope of work more. We were looking for a flexible, reliable and experienced video editor that has worked on videos on social media platforms and TV commercials before.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
In the beginning stage, we shared with Jayme a short brief of the campaign's ask as well as the video creatives' information such as numbers of exports, output specs and requirements. We also showed him the Mass' English video output as a reference as some super animations and frame transitioning could be challenging to adapt. This step is for him to understand the scope of work for this project and share with us an estimate of costs and hours required. After he reviewed all the information we provided, he then discussed with us the questions and concerns he had which helped us to be on the same page moving forward. Next, we shared with Jayme the mass' video working files and other assets including in-language supers and brand logos, and we made sure that he had everything he needed. Jayme would also check with us and work out a timeline that would work for both ends. He has been very punctual in delivering video previews so that we could review them internally before sharing them with the client. We had to ask him to revise a few things on the video previews which he was able to make those changes quickly. We then shared those previews with the client. After we received approvals, we notified Jayme on the same and asked him to share final outputs based on the specs provided earlier. There were a lot of different versions of the exports but he was very organized where he labelled everything clearly and sorted them into folders, which made it so much easier for us when we received the final outputs.
What was the team composition?
I work with Jayme directly through video conference calls, emails and slack messaging for communication. In terms of the feedback process, we provide comments on the video previews that he uploads to his frame.io account. The tools available on this platform make it a lot easier for us to indicate what changes are to be made. Jayme would look through all the feedback and make changes accordingly, in which it has been smooth and efficient.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Overall, the multicultural creatives for Toyota that Jayme helped with reflected a continuous increase in sales, especially for Corolla and RAV4.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Jayme has excellent communication skills. He also manages his workload and timeline very well, which is bonus when he is working on multiple campaigns' production.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We really appreciate their transparency in sharing concerns and opinions about the project, which helped with setting expectations for everyone.
Is there any area for improvement or anything that could have been done differently?
Jayme has been very responsive and our collaboration is great! There isn't much that we currently would like to change or do it differently.

Please describe your company and your position there.
Kiwassa Neighbourhood House is a non-profit organization serving the residents of Vancouver Sunrise Hastings and beyond. We provide relevant community programs for children, youth, adults, seniors and families. Our programs range from childcare, food programs, community engagement, settlement, and employment services. My role at work is Coordinator for Employment Services.
For what projects/services did your company hire Jayme Cowley Media Co., and what were your goals?
Jayme was hired to help deliver a short video of one of our signature employment program called EMPOW3R that specifically supports those who identify as survivors of violence, abuse, and trauma. Our goal was to produce a video that would help increase the awareness about trauma, survivors, employment, and childcare. Secondarily, we wanted to reach out to employers to let them know that hiring equity and inclusion seeking population such as survivors is a viable option.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We shortlisted a few contractors. We selected Jayme to do the work because of his past work, connection to the communities we serve, and his openness and curiosity about our work.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
The video length is over 4 minutes. We originally scheduled 2 film dates. We had to adjust our timing later on as one of the interviewees later on withdrew from the project. Jayme was very accommodating about this development. We re-drew the storyline, recruited new interviewees and scheduled the film shoot days. An additional shorter video (one-minute) was requested which Jayme obliged. The process seem seamless in spite of the hiccups. I think that it was due to Jayme's patience and flexibility that made the production seem smooth! Thank you Jayme.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
Jayme and EMPOW3R staff (3) were all on board the work, plus 3 participant interviewees. The feedback process was done via email, Zoom, and phone calls.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The video is now uploaded on Kiwassa's YouTube channel. We have shared the video on FB, Instagram, and LinkedIn. We have also embedded this on our Kiwassa website, as well with our program partner VEEES. We have received positive feedback about the video from current and past participants, program partners, Government of BC (funding agency), and other service providers.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Jayme was very easy to communicate with; accountable, patient, flexible, accurate, and punctual.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
This company is unique because they listened really well to our needs. We are very pleased with the videos.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work for Select Wines, an international wine and alcoholic beverages agency in Canada. I’m the marketing manager for British Columbia at our head office.
What challenge were you trying to address with Jayme Cowley Media Co.?
We hired Jayme Cowley to create some videos around one of our cocktail brands. These would be used for training purposes and would be posted on our social channels.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The Jayme Cowley team did everything from pre- to postproduction. We began by talking about our company’s two different products and the two different recipes that we had around those. We also discussed our budget and deadlines.
As we worked through our ideas, Jayme (Videomaker) added in his own since he had expertise in filmmaking. After that back-and-forth, I scouted for a filming location and booked the date. On the day itself, we helped set up the look and feel that we wanted for the video. Jayme and his team took over from there.
We wanted to get the videos right so after finishing the first one, we gave our feedback and incorporated that into the production of the second video.
What is the team composition?
For most of the process, we worked directly with Jayme. On the day of the shoot, he had 2–3 people with him.
How did you come to work with Jayme Cowley Media Co.?
Jayme reached out to me on LinkedIn before this project. When the time came to look for a videographer, he came to mind and was one of my first contacts. He was fantastic from the get-go and was able to meet our budgetary needs, so we ended up going with him.
How much have you invested with them?
We paid $4,000 for both videos.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started talking in December 2020 and filmed in February 2021. The first video was delivered in March 2021 and the second was completed in August 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The resulting videos were fantastic. We were very pleased with it. We did post one of the videos on our channel but we don’t have any metrics on that yet.
Our company has more markets that we’re hoping to introduce our products to, so we’re planning on hiring Jayme again to have the videos be rendered in different languages, like French or Japanese.
How did Jayme Cowley Media Co. perform from a project management standpoint?
Jayme was able to work within our budget. He let us view the rough edits on his website so that we could provide our feedback and leave our comments on certain points of the unfinished video. We coordinated filming schedules and locations through email and kept in touch by phone.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The one thing that sets Jayme apart is his professionalism. We were amazed that we got a high-quality video for the budget that we had.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there isn’t any. We’re very happy with their work.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Go ahead and reach out to Jayme because he will just take it from there.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I own a photography business, and we primarily do weddings and corporate events. Sometimes, we have contracts with malls where we do in-person photo booth setups for events like Christmas, or other occasions.
What challenge were you trying to address with Jayme Cowley Media Co.?
I often sell packages on my wedding businesses that include captured and edited video. I hired Jayme Cowley Media Co. to help me with the video production work.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Jayme (Videomaker) helps me with video work. For instance, in my wedding business, I often sell packages that include captured and edited video. He sometimes operates as a solo videographer or as a lead videographer with an assistant.
He also delivers an edit of the client’s wedding video, which is usually around 3–5 minutes long. Our clients provide their feedback, and we finalize it from there.
What is the team composition?
Jayme is the only person from his company that I work with.
How did you come to work with Jayme Cowley Media Co.?
We originally met through our church about 10 years ago. We were both interested in video, so we were connected through mutual friends. We’ve worked together on many projects and I continue to work with him because I trust him. He’s reliable and loyal, and the quality of his work is really high.
What is the status of this engagement?
The first time we worked together, we were hired as contractors for a large nonprofit out of Langley in April 2011 — that was our first big project. Our partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Whenever I’m able to sell a package that includes Jayme’s video work on it, it doubles my revenue on that specific booking. Selling two services instead of one is very helpful for me.
In terms of client feedback, I remember that one client was very happy with their wedding video. Jayme had gotten the vision of what they hoped for so we didn’t have to make big edits. They said that they enjoyed working with him on that day. That spoke highly of his character.
How did Jayme Cowley Media Co. perform from a project management standpoint?
We usually communicate through emails and texts. Email would be the more professional way for working on a specific project. We play tennis every week, and we usually chat about business projects there. However, if there’s a wedding video or a specific project, we establish timelines, and he always meets his deadlines — that’s not an issue.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What distinguishes Jayme from other people I’ve worked with in the past is his meticulous attention to detail. He’s focused on making the content perfect and as strong as it can be, even with smaller budgets. From picking the camera and lenses to telling the story and checking the lighting and sound, he makes sure that everything is professional. He doesn’t skip over the details, which some videographers do. He’s more thoughtful and specific than other videographers I’ve worked with.
In terms of video, he has a stronger technical understanding than I do. If there’s a technical issue, such as an editing question or something specific about the equipment that I’m not entirely sure about, he often has the answer.
I continually hire Jayme because of these reasons. He is the only person that I trust to keep the quality high enough to satisfy my customers. His work is good enough that I would consider it equivalent to my own photography work.
Are there any areas they could improve?
He gets too focused on making things absolutely perfect, and sometimes we just need to simplify things a little bit. However, if I mention that we can’t do things a certain way because of timeline or budget, he’s always accepting of this.
Any advice for potential customers?
Just give him the freedom to make something great and trust that he has good instincts. If you try to over-control or micromanage his work, then you won’t get the best results. You will get the best out of him if you trust that he has years of experience and can tell a good story.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the principal of a marketing agency based in Vancouver. I’m responsible for getting customers, booking projects, and everything else like that.
What challenge were you trying to address with Jayme Cowley Media Co.?
We hired Jayme (Directory of Photography) for a recent commercial shoot for our customer based in Montreal. That customer is a new software startup company in the space of retail marketing.
What was the scope of their involvement?
For this project, we scheduled a shoot with Jayme, and he handled all of the videography, lighting, and location planning. Our agency handled all of the scriptwriting with the customer, so we simply gave Jayme the storyboard. Then, I sent him the location as well as its floor plan.
What is the team composition?
We worked with two people on this shoot, consisting of Jayme himself and an assistant camera person.
How did you come to work with Jayme Cowley Media Co.?
A local director introduced Jayme to me through a referral. We worked together on multiple projects before, and he’d been great. As a result, I chose him for this project, which was our biggest one to date.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested around $5,000–$10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together before the COVID-19 pandemic around March 2019, and we’re still working together.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Everything was great, and the video has been released. Everyone who worked on the set had positive feedback for Jayme. Overall, the quality of the video is above what we’ve expected.
How did Jayme Cowley Media Co. perform from a project management standpoint?
This particular project was done after the COVID-19 pandemic, and we shot it during a small break in the provincial health order. In terms of project management, we coordinated mostly through phone calls. We met on-site on the location planning day as well as the shooting day.
Jayme was able to turn the location plan around over email. We knew exactly what was going to be set up in the space, so that saved us a ton of time on the day of the shooting.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Jayme conducted himself professionally on set, and he knew his craft. He always had a lot of great ideas for maximizing the use of space in terms of both lighting and other video equipment that we had.
I also liked that he paid attention to all the small details. At the same time, his personality was impressive — he’s great to have on any production set.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
When working with Jayme, be clear about the vision that you have in mind even if you have no idea how to execute it. Jayme has a lot of experience working on a variety of projects, so he’ll be able to recommend the best options for you.
Don’t be shy if you want to work within a specific budget. Let them know about it, and they can recommend whatever is the best based on your desired outcome and the expected budget.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We are an advertising agency and I'm the VP
For what projects/services did your company hire Jayme Cowley Media Co., and what were your goals?
It was a collection of videos to promote our Candidate and his platform. We hired Jayme for event videos as well as several scripted advertising videos.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We wanted someone who we can trust to deliver professional and creative videos within our tight timeframe and budget. Jayme was the perfect fit.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
We begin with a brief and the script of the concept of each video, where Jayme would give us feedback and suggestion bringing in his expertise in terms of production. After the client approves the script, we would work together to develop a schedule and the logistics for the filming day and provide further detail to prepare our clients for the shoot.
Finally, Jayme does the filming and the editing. We usually have a few rounds of feedback and revision until the client provides final approval.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
We work together to keep each other on the schedule. Jayme would share video rough-cuts on Frame.io so our team and clients can provide feedback in one place.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The videos were shared and advertised on Facebook, which helps increase overall engagement with our Candidate's Facebook page and increase followers.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
It is easy to communicate with Jayme. He is easily reachable through email/text. He also uses Frame.io and Trello for video presentations and storyboards.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Jayme is a problem solver. We could count on them to give good suggestions and bring concepts to life.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
File transfer is difficult since all video file sizes are enormous. Jayme was very accommodating in downsizing those files for us, but I wish we work closer to each other so we could have more in-person meetings.

Church. Senior Pastor
For what projects/services did your company hire Jayme Cowley Media Co.?
Creating and integrating livestreaming into our weekly services.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We received an email early in COVID with contact details and an overview of Jayme Cowley Media Co. When the time came to address the challenge we faced, Jayme's company provided a rapid, thorough, and cost-effective response.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
Jayme sent a draft overview of the estimated work. He and I had an online video call to discuss further. A more detailed estimate was created. The church board was informed and the budget allocated. The first on-site visit by Jayme and his colleague, Scot, was to survey the church building and livestream needs with key church staff and volunteers. Options were presented and a further online video between Jayme and me was held.
A decision was made regarding the preferred options (using network based cameras and software). Jayme produced an itemized equipment list with costs. The church purchased the equipment. Once purchased, Jayme and Scot came onsite to help with installation (assisted by volunteers from the church). A training day was also set up.
On three Sundays at our services, Jayme or Scot came onsite to provide assistance or guidance to the newly-trained staff. Throughout, Jayme has maintained email and video contact and follow-up. Written guidelines were also produced by Jayme.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Jayme and Scot.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The church team has responded very well to the training and the new challenges of the live-stream system. They have adapted well. Though there are some inevitable teething challenges, the church team responds constructively to the challenges. Jayme Cowley Media Co.'s advice and involvement were foundational for this success.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Generally very good. Jayme and Scot build confidence with the team without being overbearing. Jayme and Scot took time to understand the uniqueness of our situation and helped our team grasp the basics of what constitutes a good live-stream.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
There are many points: promptness, courtesy, encouragement, thorough understanding of the equipment and process. Familiarity with a church setting and unique demands of a church livestream.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The only thought is the amount of information presented in the training session. One option might have been to give more hands-on / interactive opportunities or aim to teach less information but explain it more deeply.
