Please describe your company and your position there.
I am an Enterprise Architect for a hybrid IT services company which offers Strategic and Architecture Consulting Services, as well as a variety of public & private cloud hosting / managed services.
For what projects/services did your company hire Jahnel Group, Inc., and what were your goals?
While we focus on hybrid IT, we are an environments company, meaning we focus on hosting and infrastructure. While we do automation development relevant to hosting, we are not an application development firm, so when it comes to serving our customers' custom application development needs, it is essential for us to have solid partners who can deliver to the standards we hold ourselves to.
For this particular project, our customer needed a post-production pipeline created, which could automate creation of personalized videos based from raw media assets, as well as metadata about the recipient. Due to the natural business cycle our customer experienced, deadlines were aggressive and critical to business success.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We have worked with Jahnel group on customer engagements in the past, and have always had a stellar experience with them. Shared values regarding customer obsession, ownership, and a commitment to delivering business value have led to a great partnership.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Based on an architecture and platform we specified for automation, JG assisted with the detailed design, build, and testing of workflow automation code, data transformation and validation, and system integration capabilities essential to meet customer objectives.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
For this specific engagement, we worked primarily with five members of JG. Roles include program management, software architecture, development, and testing.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
While we are still working on the overall project, the most critical milestone has been met on-time. Deliverables from JG were of exceptional quality, and it has been a joy to work with these skilled, dedicated resources.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Through engagement in regular stand-up meetings, Jahnel Group, Inc. has been very effective in bi-directional communication, asking good questions, providing feedback, as well as keeping us updated on progress and any blockers. This milestone couldn't have been met on time without great collaboration between Involta, Jahnel Group, and the customer.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The values I mentioned above are ubiquitous across JG. I have had occasion to work with JG on multiple projects, with different resources. My memorable experiences with Jahnel Group, Inc. have been consistently one of their high-quality and remarkable work.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Maybe some day I'll discover something, but I haven't yet.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the CEO of a financial technology company that provides tonal analysis for hedge funds. This is a six figure yearly product cost and a very sophisticated buyer. That being said, we needed to partner with a development firm that has the highest level of experience.
For what projects/services did your company hire Jahnel Group, Inc., and what were your goals?
Our product requires intensive data processing and engineering at scale. Considering this software development expertise goes wider than a traditional firm.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We have seen their work prior with a large healthtech platform. They also have an established brand within New York which let us leverage references to confirm quality of work.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The team worked within Google Cloud to design, develop and monitor an API product that delivers real-time results of our cloud analysis. This required extensive work within the GCP ecosystem of services like Datastore, Cloud Functions, Ingest, Compute, BigQuery, PubSub and other technologies to make a best-in-class yet still efficient environment.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
3 people in their team worked with us across development and strategy. This was required so the work is done as efficiently as possible while we then had a to-the-blade engineer implement the work.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We were able to launch our flagship product and subsequent 2nd version of this into the marketplace supporting brand new customers. This was the target and we couldn't be happier with creating our offering together.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Project Management was purposefully light since our team has extensive technical and product experience. We worked within an agile environment and this allowed the Jahnel software engineer to be integrated directly to our team.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The ability to adapt and work as an extension of the team. We don't like any relationships where it is "throw over the wall". With Jahnel Group, Inc. we were able to have a singular team and our approach to a common goal.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We discussed the idea of documentation up front and have begin doing that further downstream. I would be critical on both my own team and the Jahnel team here so we can understand the value and a way to prevent "doing it all at once" for certain non-functional pieces of making a complete product.

G&G LED is a US based manufacturer of harsh environment LED lighting products for industrial applications. I am the Engineering Manager at G&G. I am responsible for all of our product engineering.
For what projects/services did your company hire Jahnel Group, Inc., and what were your goals?
We developed an MVP IoT interface in-house that was not up to the standards of our customers but proved out that the product concept had merit. We then contacted Jahnel group to design an new updated web app with a more modern UI and back end that handled the user interaction with our IoT system. The goal was to improved the overall robustness of the web infrastructure while also levering their UI expertise to build something that customers enjoyed using.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Jahnel Group had come through a referral from a close business associate. We did some research on them and asked for a proposal. The team seemed great and they were local to our area. The proposal and timeline met our needs so we proceeded with their proposal.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The project was broken down in to three phases. Discovery, Design, and Development. Jahnel group owned the entire project from understanding what was needed in the system all the way to deployment. The discovery phase was really insightful and drove significant progress not only on the new web interface but on our hardware as well. The whole process drove great discussions and produced really good outcomes. The design phase involved working directly with the UI designer to craft a UI that had the feel of a very modern application. This phase was exciting because we got to see the whole system come to life. The development phase had the bulk of the project contained within it. Here we worked with 2 full time developers to actually build the system we had conceptualized. The system is a react app runs on and AWS backbone and uses MongoDB for the data storage component. The backend is a typescript system that handles of the system interactions. Once again, the developers did a great job and worked closely with us to validate each piece of the software as it was completed.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with a wide range of people. I can recall 7 people that were directly involved in the project Sales CTO UI Designer 2 Full Stack Developers QA/Project Mngr AWS Specialist
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
This is a brand new product for us but the customer reception has been outstanding. The new UI and features are exactly what customers wanted and they are significantly more intuitive than they were when the process first began.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We had weekly calls to get updates on the current state of the system along with opportunities to provide feedback. We enjoyed working with such a small team and we always had direct contact with the developers to provide real time feedback during testing. We found that to be invaluable.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The attitudes of everyone we worked with was outstanding. Everyone seemed genuinely excited to be working on our project and showed a ton of enthusiasm.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Our only feedback was related to the support contract at the end of the project. We would have liked to have proceeded with one but we felt that the terms of what was covered by the contract was too small to be of value.

I am the CEO & Founder of maro parents. We're the DuoLingo for family mental health. Our mobile app uses hundreds of engaging parent learning modules, plus in-app behavioral health tools to help parents navigate behavioral and mental health challenges that come along as kids grow up.
For what projects/services did your company hire Jahnel Group, Inc., and what were your goals?
Jahnel Group stepped in to build our entire enterprise web platform in one month. We had an established pilot deadline to meet and did not have the internal bandwidth to meet it. We desperately needed a group we could trust that is well-versed in the security protocols we have to align with and could meet our tight deadline without a doubt.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We spent 2 weeks interviewing individual developers and dev shops, but no one was willing to take on our challenge, citing time constraints or quoting outrageous prices. Jahnel Group loves a good challenge and did not shy away. They've approached every aspect of this project with optimism and excitement. For the extent of this project, they really felt like a part of our own team!
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We had a kickoff meeting to discuss our goals and objectives. From there, we worked through logistics: timeline, pricing, staffing the project, onboarding and credentialing, etc. After that, Jahnel Group worked pretty independently- keeping us updated through Slack and only using meeting time where needed. We did a midway meeting, a final demo meeting and QA'd toward the end.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with their management team and 2 developers!
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Not only did they deliver a product at the exact specs we sent, they delivered the project EARLY and with added functionality that made the software more user-friendly for our clients. We were blown away.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Unbelievably easy to work with. Most of our communication was through Slack which meant time spent in meetings was only used when necessary. As a small team wearing lots of hats, we especially appreciated their work style.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They delivered on their promises and exceeded our expectations. They blew us away with the final deliverable. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with them. Based on our experience, I'm not convinced there is another company out there that's more high caliber than Jahnel Group.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nope- honestly!

I work in an IT project management role for a financial services company. We provide investment management solutions for financial institutions.
For what projects/services did your company hire Jahnel Group, Inc., and what were your goals?
Our firm has had challenges in the past building our software development team. We had several projects that needed dedicated resources (i.e. standardizing data, building out web applications and workflows).
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
The level of trust and integrity displayed by Jahnel Group was a deciding factor in our selection process. Their team offered a guarantee that ensured they added value to our software initiatives or we did not have to pay them. It is pretty amazing to find a firm that is true to their word and will do whatever it takes to make the customer happy.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
There are multiple projects that we are working on with the Jahnel Group team. There are resources that are dedicated to standardizing our data. This process is very complex and we have seen several people struggle to comprehend this.
We also have resources that have built out our custom client facing web application. This team works to adjust and update the application based on our clients needs.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
There were two senior developers, a part time UI/UX sesigner, and a QA/PM resource. An added benefit of working with Jahnel Group is when needed we had access to the team's solutions architect to help with some of our larger decisions or any issues we ran into.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We were able to update and launch platform updates in a timely manner. The team always worked hard to ensure that we hit our timelines and did so in the most efficient way possible.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The team followed agile development methodologies. Our team and the Jahnel Group team would meet bi-weekly to have sprint plan meetings. If anything immediate would pop up we could always reach out and jump on the phone quickly to discuss. We used Slack and Gmail to communicate with Jahnel Group resources. We utilize Jira for all of our online ticketing.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Jahnel Group had an amazing team of people that were able to answer any task we had. I would say the most unique thing is that the team did a terrific job integrating with our group. I think this is a testament to their company culture. With outsourced development there is always an integration fear, but they do everything to make it feel like they are part of your actual team.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
All in all, no complaints. Jahnel Group is really a great group to work with.

Custom Software Dev for Healthcare Consulting Firm
"If I’m in need of a custom software app or anything technical, I will always call them."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the president of Precision Medical Partners, a healthcare consulting company. We also have a business development outsourcing division as well as a software division.
What challenge were you trying to address with Jahnel Group, Inc.?
I’ve been working with the founder and president of Jahnel Group for 15 years. They develop web-based apps as well as mobile apps, specifically geared towards the healthcare space.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We were looking for a company that has an understanding of HIPAA compliance and its complexities, not just from an analytics standpoint, but from a growth perspective too.
They’ve created a healthcare-specific CRM and it helps us leverage our consulting side of the business so that we can attract new customers. The platform also captures insurance, comorbidities, referrals, and behavioral analytics.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with Darrin (CEO & Co-Founder), Jon (Chief Growth Officer), and Jason (Co-Founder & COO). I’ve also worked with several of their developers including Christian (Senior Software Engineer) who’s an expert in compliance.
How did you come to work with Jahnel Group, Inc.?
I came across them literally. I’ve known Darrin for quite a while. He has grown a company from a few people to well over a hundred developers, engineers, and designers. Thus, I already had an understanding of Darrin’s work ethic, skillset, and intellect prior to what his company is producing now. I was confident that he was going to be someone that would exceed the expectations of any deliverable.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve probably spent high six figures already, potentially towards $1 million. Every project’s cost is different.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Jahnel Group in June 2008, and we’ve been working with them ever since.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve been using their software over the last 15 years to capture important data. The system enables our company to leverage analytics on 50,000 providers. They didn’t simply help us drive revenue for our organization, they’ve also aimed at creating a long-term relationship with us. Our third-party customers also value the products that we put in front of them. Overall, they have delivered apps that have exceeded my expectations.
I’ve been remarkably impressed with their technical skillset and business acumen. Unlike many software vendors who make engagements very transactional, they’ve provided advisory services to make us efficient in our capital spending. They have a unique lens as far as converting things into real-world applications.
How did Jahnel Group, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve been timely and on budget. They put in the hours above and beyond to make sure we meet our deadlines. We have constant communication, so even if I don’t do my best to reach out, they are proactive in keeping me in the loop.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Jahnel Group has a very high level of integrity; When they say they’re going to execute, they always do. In business, that is very rare. Regardless of what’s going on with the economy or resources, they get things done ahead of schedule. They’re very passionate about what they do.
Furthermore, they’re also committed to exceeding client expectations. They come in every day to work and grow their business. Perhaps, that’s the main reason why I can comfortably refer them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It’s going to sound biased, but I have zero complaints. If I’m in need of a custom software app or anything technical, I will always call them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Clearly articulate your ideas because that will save time and energy. You have to be very specific and detailed when you come up with concepts. If you are, then you’ll give Jahnel Group a blueprint to succeed.

"Their energy was second to none — they were driven to make the project a success."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the president of an insurance company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Jahnel Group, Inc.?
We were building a custom software package rating system. We started the project with a different firm, but it wasn’t going well. We needed to speed things up, and get more professional and organized.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We initially created the platform in Silverlight, but when Jahnel Group took over the project, they moved it to Vue.js.
What is the team composition?
We had an executive sponsor, a QA person, and two developers.
How did you come to work with Jahnel Group, Inc.?
We looked at 2–3 different firms but ended up choosing Jahnel Group because of their energy and enthusiasm. They were recommended to us. We knew they wouldn’t let the project fail.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $1.6 million.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from August 2015–March 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The platform is live— we’re using it in production and getting good feedback, so that’s most important. We experienced some bugs, but they totally did what they said they’d do. We’d call on them and, depending on the bug, they’d put resources on it.
How did Jahnel Group, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?
They did well. We used YouTrack for ticket tracking needs.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their energy was second to none — they were driven to make the project a success. The culture there was dedicated to finding a way to success.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Hindsight is 20/20. We ended up keeping the first resource after we hired Jahnel Group, but that was our fault and probably not the best idea.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
It’s not specific to this team, but have a good idea of your scope and think it through. If you can provide them with a legitimate, dialed-in scope, they will deliver — there’s no doubt in my mind.
Thanks to Jahnel Group, Inc's engagement, they have successfully collaborated well to handle the client's projects. The team has communicated well to provide progress updates and feedback. Their accessibility and work management has been notable throughout the workflow.
