Payments for services managed by our solution needed to be received in Odoo POS. These include payments for workshops, membership extensions, and other services sold as packages. After payment validation in Odoo POS, the service/order payment status in the external system should also be updated.
Several edge cases needed to be addressed to make this integration work in the long term and be user-friendly for the inexperienced user. The work was accepted by stakeholders and put in production.

The result will become obvious after all internal users start using the development properly. However, this development closed a long-standing problem with accepting payments in the store, which led to limited use of custom management software by internal employees and slowed down the sales of services.

After 6 months of development IView completed the app we requested, now we have to complete it. Some of our in-house developed routines need to be included to increase app performance and yield. I think it takes almost months for this app to be released

Our communication was very good, we talked almost every day. Every week they released a package with the completed com activity and I compiled a report with all the bugs I found

This company is very professional and they made themselves available working even beyond work. They also did some extra functionality that wasn't in the quote. The seriousness was much appreciated

Everything can always be done faster, but we were happy with their work. If I have to say something I think they need to improve the use of photos which is a very complex issue especially when working with a lot of photos.

In the end, quality is important and so is the seriousness of the company

We needed help building a mobile and web application for our business.

What was the scope of their involvement?

iView Labs helped us turn our algorithm into a mobile and web application. They handled the integration with our custodian broker-dealer in the U.S. Their team helped us in terms of building out the user interface.

The first step was integrating our application with them by creating the UI, which is the customer onboarding process that requires us to collect personal information and basic data of the clients. The second step was building an algorithm, and the next step was to take that algorithm and include it in the customer onboarding process. Based on the information the clients provided, we’d suggest a savings plan for them. iView Labs handles that customer onboarding process from basic information to creating plans.

The third part is integration with the custodian broker-dealer where we wanted the user, when we give them a plan, the entire process should be seamlessly done at the backend. It basically requires taking the portfolio we have in common with the user and passing that information onto the custodian broker-dealer.

We send minutes, the transactions made, and the user can see that portfolio. That integration work in terms of handling the trade-in and the reporting that happens subsequently as well as handling the payments, transfers, and integrating it with the partners’ needs. The fourth step is now that the clients have been integrated, iView Labs helped us build out the dashboard for the client so they can track and monitor their portfolios.

The web application is mainly for the Nigerian market. It’s not yet live because it’s taking us longer than expected to gather the required approvals. It’s 90% complete. Now, we’re working with iView Labs to build a native mobile app for the US market. The app will be for Android and iOS.

I only interface with two key people. There were three additional junior-level people who are also working on the application. For the interface, we had more of the senior development team.

iView Labs works quite fast. We’re a bootstrap. They’re very affordable from a value perspective, and the quality of work compared to what we paid is very high. Our partner, the custodian broker-dealer, didn’t have issues working with them which is a big part of the success for us.

That integration process was done well with no issues. Our partners didn’t come back with any complaints. They found the process quite efficient. They thought it’d take longer to get the work done. I feel we could’ve been even faster if we got the design done well in the spec that iView Labs wanted.

Any issues we had were related to the design and it not translating well. It wasn’t their issue. They did offer a designer on their team but we chose to work with somebody else.

How did iView Labs Pvt Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

They are good and efficient. Their team has an application that allows us to track what they do every week. They did a very good job with project management. I don’t have any complaints.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s been easy to work with them. There was never a time that the relationship was strained. They’re willing to hear us out and try to understand what we want. We had to go back and forth a lot on the design, and they were gracious about it. iView Labs was very accommodating to us.

There were instances when what we asked them to do seemed difficult or they didn’t know how to go about it but they never had the mentality that something couldn’t be done. They were always trying to find ways to achieve what we wanted to achieve.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The main thing is the design issue from our side. We should’ve worked with the team for the whole thing including the design aspects. It would’ve made it easier and more seamless. If I could do it again, I would have done everything with them.

They’re hardworking people. If you’re very clear, they’ll get it done. When you’re uncertain about certain aspects, you just go back and forth. Be clear on everything you want, and you’ll get the most value out of it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

iView Labs Pvt Ltd built a native app on both iOS and Android.  We didn’t create wireframes ourselves, though we did have experience launching similar delivery service apps, which was a good base to start from. 

This project ended up being a little more complicated, however, as we had to implement functionalities for clothes tracking and invoicing. At one point, the team had to change the entire architecture of the app.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

My expectations for the project were high, as we were launching a new public service and I wanted the app to be perfect and quality-tested. Along the way, I tracked a detailed feature list and conducted all of the validation testing. 

The iView Labs Pvt Ltd team handled the basic code testing, checking bugs and errors. They always delivered high-quality work that performed just as expected.

Overall, the project took one year instead of four months, but the team tried to meet my expectations. Anyone else would’ve left the project then and there, so I really appreciated their dedication to my project.

How did iView Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Our project manager was talented, reasonable, and a good negotiator. 

Though the project was delayed significantly, I understand why and don’t place all the blame on them. There were a few areas where I lacked experience and needed some consultancy, which is where the disconnect occurred. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Out of all the developers I’ve worked with, iView Labs Pvt Ltd stands apart because of their high-quality work. 

When they turn something over to the customer for testing, there aren’t any bugs in the code. That was really wonderful. I’d never seen flawless development until I partnered with iView Labs Pvt Ltd. The functionalities changed during our project, and they responded to that, but all of their developers are very talented.

Also, though we ended up over budget for the project, we still paid less than we would’ve if we’d gone with another provider.

Are there any areas they could improve?

iView Labs Pvt Ltd could improve by expanding their services to include some basic consulting on the business side. If they could’ve guided me along the way, the app might not have changed, and the price and timeline might not have increased.

The final product is nice, but it’s an MVP, not the project I expected. 

I can’t place the blame on them, however, as this was my first time engaging in a project like this and I didn’t know the business etiquette.

The functionalities within the platform are good. The HTML files are superb, and the backend is plugged in well. Everything they’ve done has been great. We’re starting to upload content to the site now, and working on the Android app, so we’re happy with our progress.

They proactively set up a communication channel between our teams and the previous developer to gather relevant information for development. My phone line is open to them at all times of day or night in case there’s an issue.

I give them full marks for the job they’ve done for me, and that’s not an exaggeration. They come to me when they have a better idea for certain things, whereas other people may not speak up. They also use trackers, but my internal team mostly takes responsibility for that. I receive reports and feedback from the team to make sure everything is being done on time, too. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

This is a new business for me, so I needed someone to hold my hand and make me comfortable with the environment. I was confident enough in iView Labs Pvt Ltd. to pay them even before the product was delivered. 

With other companies, my technical team had to scrutinize every detail to make sure it was right. With iView Labs Pvt Ltd., that isn’t necessary, and I know they’ll do it well. If the job costs $1,000, I can pay them the money immediately and let them work.
