I'm the CEO of a software company that creates medical software. 

What challenge were you trying to address with IntelliCeed Inc.?

I needed a software team that could take the concepts and design documents that I came up with and create software based on that.

What was the scope of their involvement?

IntelliCeed Inc. works as a Java sprint team for us. They provide project management, QA, software development, and database development. They work using React JS, Java, Spring, and AWS. We have a professional design team in-house that provides them with Figmas and design documents.

Some of the projects they have worked on include developing our database structure and input screens. They created a customer-facing web portal and also developed iOS and Android mobile interfaces. We needed web reactive technology, and they also developed a custom logic system for our application.

What is the team composition?

We work with approximately 10 employees from IntelliCeed Inc. We work with both front- and backend developers, someone who works on our logic engine, QA resources, and project managers. 

How did you come to work with IntelliCeed Inc.?

We spent a long time looking for the right team. We searched on Clutch and Upwork. We found approximately 20 possible teams. We had two interviews with those teams, and after that, we chose IntelliCeed Inc. — it was really a very thorough process. 

How much have you invested with them?

We have spent a couple hundred thousand dollars.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2018, and we still work with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of their work is extremely good. We had hired a previous software team that was a disaster and cost us hundreds of thousands of dollars in wasted money. IntelliCeed Inc.’s team was immediately able to understand the problem, and then they began designing solutions. It has been night and day, and they offer extremely high-quality work.

How did IntelliCeed Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

I couldn't be happier. IntelliCeed Inc. does very well and meets all the milestones. They manage the project and finish what they say they are going to do. We have daily meetings on Zoom, and we use Jira and Asana to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive thing is that they deliver quality work on time. They’re very pleasant people, but it's always great when the work we’re paying for is occurring. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes they get busy with other projects, and they pull people off our project. That's hard for us, so it’d be better if they didn’t do that. 

Any advice for potential customers?

My advice would be to start talking with them and share design documents if you want.

I’m the co-founder and CTO of nPhase, a cloud-based clinical trial software development company.

What challenge were you trying to address with IntelliCeed Inc.?

We needed someone to help with software development using the Google Web Toolkit (GWT).

What was the scope of their involvement?

Intelliceed’s main task was to create our survey engine. They helped us with a framework to be able to have multiple versions of our software running at the same time in the cloud. As a clinical trial company, we have to integrate with third party software providers. Illya (CEO, IntelliCeed Inc.) was able to integrate that in a day-to-day framework for integration. He also helped us integrate with hospital systems. He created a framework that we still use today. In clinical trials, hospitals like to have a single source of data.

They have their own systems called Epic which are electronic medical systems. They’re typically used for any data collection for patients. All that information needs to be transferred into a solution like ours so that we can benefit from that. That way, you don’t have to duplicate data entry. Coding with EMR applications is difficult, as there are very specific protocols for HL7 or FHIR, but Intelliceed still managed to do a great job.

Although we finished the web development, we still leverage their services them for mobile development.

What is the team composition?

There are five people working with us. The team includes three senior Java programmers, one iOS app development specialist, and one Android development specialist.

How did you come to work with IntelliCeed Inc.?

I came across Illya’s online profile, interviewed him, and hired him right away.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2016, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did phenomenal work. We’re a successful company and their contributions assisted with that. Their team works harder than a lot of the other remote software development teams I’ve worked with.

How did IntelliCeed Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

I broadly gave them instructions on what I wanted and they were able to produce it for me. They work in an agile methodology with daily sprints. They work very hard until 2:00-3:00 in the morning. We use Jira, Slack, Skype, GoToMeeting, Google Hangouts, and Google Meets for project management and communication purposes. I really enjoy working with them. Illya even came to meet me in person 2-3 times and we had a great time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They take pride in what they’re developing. It showed up in their dedication. They never complained and worked to produce a great product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can detect tension between our teams. It seems everyone was trying to compete with everyone rather than trying to work together. I’m responsible for conflict management and making sure everyone is on the same page.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to encourage collaboration across teams.

I'm COO of IT company. Responsible for delivery processes within the company.

For what projects/services did your company hire IntelliCeed Inc., and what were your goals?

IntelliCeed Inc. has been working for us for almost 4 years now. Would like to emphasize one of the largest and most complicated projects we implemented together with them. A fully-featured payment gateway platform was developed to address the needs of European fintech giant. It’s a payment gateway that supports the majority of financial operations including 3D-secure, debit, authorization, capture and refund.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

One of our business partners recommended them as reliable specialists with great experience in Java backend development and domain knowledge in fintech.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Projects’ success and overall satisfaction of their way to work, communicate and release high-quality features in a timely manner - that is something we value in this challenging business. IntelliCeed team brought significant expertise and results to the project by being organized in the development process, attentive to customer’s requests and consistent in project management. This allowed us to achieve the best results with such a complicated product

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We couldn't be happier and never experienced any performance or management issues with the IntelliCeed team. Everything we planned was correctly estimated and met all the milestones. They are extremely responsive in terms of deadlines and super available for productive and pleasant communication. We have daily meetings on Microsoft Teams and we use Jira for tasks management.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most impressive thing is that they deliver quality work on time, even for the most complicated and non-trivial tasks. Their enthusiastic project involvement helped us not only to complete the required scope of work, but even improve it with good suggestions. They are very friendly, pleasant people and it's always great when the work we’re paying for is occurring.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It’s always good to improve the domain expertise to be ready for new challenges, even for such a highly professional team.
