Sales Forecast for a Store
The solution helps stores to forecast sales and prevent customers outflow, thus optimizing many business processes
Our team created a solution for retailers and online stores which makes forecasts for 5,000+ products. We used accumulated for three years data on daily sales, purchased items, average checks, loyalty card types, promotions, and so on to teach the application to identify seasonality in demand by month and day of the week, determine trends for each product group, and evaluate the impact of discounts and promotions on product sales. Based on this analysis, the program builds sales forecasts for a month, a quarter, and a year and identifies changes in demand for individual groups of customers. The solution increased the accuracy of forecasting for the next three months from 77% to 93%.
Another part of the program calculated the likelihood of customers outflow within 1-3 months. Our Python development team examined many parameters that impact customer activity: frequency and volume of purchases, number of site visits, date of the last purchase, viewed and selected products, positive or negative user experience. We identified groups that are "at-risk zone" and helped the client find out the proper offer, which will motivate customers to make purchases. For instance, we defined the most relevant goods based on the customer's previous purchases and figured out the right time for sending a message. It allowed the store to tailor the communication to each customer's needs and resulted in higher CTR (from 2.8% to 5.1%) and lower churn rate (from 9.4% to 5.6%).
Altogether, the system helped the business retain customers, boost sales through repeat purchases, and optimize business processes such as marketing communication, logistics, and storage of goods in the warehouse.

Live Streaming Platform for Distance Learning
The solution enables teachers to organize online school lessons in an effective and interactive way
The online platform created from scratch by our team takes into account all aspects of the learning process and helps to enrich it with new tools and experiences. We aimed to develop a high-load video conference platform with a set of features to simulate real lessons as accurately as possible.
It helps teachers to schedule, prepare and conduct lessons, store educational materials, invite pupils from different classes or other people to broadcast. Lessons are taught in real-time through a browser with the help of a video conference, so users may connect via any device – PC, tablet, or smartphone. Lots of functions are provided to make the process more interactive – pupils can raise their hands if they want to answer, paint and type on a virtual blackboard, communicate in chat, and take quizzes created by a teacher on the platform.
While engineering the platform, our development team paid special attention to the stability and security of the solution. Thanks to intelligent server distribution, the system handles high loads and can be scaled up automatically without significant effort and cost. Good connection quality and high speed are realized with geographically distributed network architecture. The system is resistant against OWASP TOP 10 vulnerabilities, connections are protected according to TLS and SRTP protocols. Personal data are stored only in encrypted form, and access rights, including access to view personal data, are strictly delimited.
The solution has already proved its effective and reliable work for more than 200,000 simultaneous users and is planned to be scaled up soon.

Mobile Application for Instant Payments
Native iOS and Android applications serving as a digital wallet for instant payments
The mobile application is integrated with APIs of several major banks of the country. After registration and verification in the app, users get access to their digital wallets. To replenish the account, residents transfer money from their local bank accounts, while tourists just add their bank cards for that.
Users can make requests for payment (e.g., split a restaurant bill for several people), pay using QR codes, make money transfers to another person by her or his mobile phone number or email. The app also provides information about bank account balances and stores the history of payments.
Our team worked on backend and native iOS and Android applications, as well as business analysis and quality assurance of the project. The solution is developed in accordance with ISO 20022 standard, uses Swift MT, and integrates RTJS for real-time payments between banks. To protect confidential data, we integrated a security system (TLS 1.2, SSL Pinning, check for rooted devices), used PIN code validation and data encryption. The solution has multi-tenant architecture and thus can be used and tailored to the peculiarities of any bank system.

Semantic Analysis of Social Media Hashtag
NLP algorithm helps to analyze the tone of publications about bitcoins to predict changes in the rate of the cryptocurrency
Innowise Group created the solution for a cryptocurrency exchange to make more exact forecasts of the rise or fall of the bitcoin. As its rate movement depends highly on the mood of investors, it is necessary to take into account and rationalize some emotional factors as well. In addition to standard methods of predicting exchange rates, the system analyzes a huge amount of data from social networks and media, correlates them with trading data, and gives a better forecast.
Our team of Python Developers and Data Scientists used the NLP algorithm that enabled the system to collect and analyze data from Twitter posts that mention the word "bitcoin." Semantic technology processes the logical structure of sentences to identify the most significant elements in the text and understand the discussions' essence. In the next step, the system collects and stores data and then uses analysis to predict changes in the bitcoin exchange rate for a given period (a week or a month).
The advantage of the system is that it is constantly learning. For instance, it can already recognize tiny details such as personal humor or sarcasm, thus making forecasts even more accurate.
Technologies and tools: Python, spaCy, Gensim, Keras, Scikit-learn.

AR Application to Visualize Historical Objects
Mobile application with the Augmented Reality module allows users to witness past events and visit lost historical sites in 3D
Built-in Google Maps and geolocation function help tourists to navigate in an unfamiliar city, as well as show the nearest sightseeings.
When users reach the attraction, e.g. a ruined building or historical site, they can learn more about it by listening to an audio guide, watching a video with past events, or studying 3D models of already non-existent buildings in the format of augmented reality: life-size, in all details.
The application also lets tourists take a photo with historical characters or objects in AR. Users can download photos and videos for offline access, add to favorites, and share links to them with friends. Thus, the app enriches traveling with new immersive experiences.
The peculiarity of the project was the reconstruction of the archive photos of old buildings and artifacts into detailed three-dimensional models, recreated by our 3D designers and “made alive” by Unity Developers. Our .NET team focused on creating commercial content for the customer. For example, in order to take a photo with an augmented reality object, it is necessary to subscribe to the app and make a payment. The resulting photos can be shared on social media pages, which the user subscribes to during registration.

Medical Application with Add-on for Cardiac Monitoring
Custom electronic data capture (EDC) system with a special add-on for portable heart monitors supports the whole cycle of clinical testing
We developed a flexible constructor which allows clinics and hospitals to set and customize all working processes. It helps to create study workflows with special rules and roles depending on user needs. Some clinical groups may have a separate work cycle with specific rules within the study if required.
Users can create any necessary data collection and reporting forms with all required fields and special validation rules for each of them. For instance, it's possible to activate the task tracker to monitor the status of forms. The system allows flexible customization of the user interface (graphics, placement of elements, etc.). If needed, it's possible to import certain data into the system after checking them for integrity and correctness. Protecting data against alteration and preventing data breaches, all user actions are registered and stored in the audit trail available to the administrator. The system also enables users to generate various reports and export them in XLS, CSV, and PDF formats.
Later on, our team also created an add-on for cardiac monitors. It allows cardiologists to monitor the condition of patients and prescribe treatment based on data from cardiac monitors. We developed a system of additional protection of personal data, whereby doctors have access to their patients' information only.
Our team also implemented the Web API, which integrates third-party services such as patient registration systems, records keeping, insurance systems, etc. It allowed to expand the functionality of the app and add new users over time.

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CTO of a financial firm.
What challenge were you trying to address with Innowise Group?
We needed a company that could provide us with web development support.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We initially hired Innowise Group to develop and implement enhancements to our website, but they ended up rebuilding the entire website instead. They used PHP, Python, WordPress, Javascript, MySQL, and ReactJS for this project.
We continue to use their services on a regular basis on other projects.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with 3–4 people from Innowise Group.
How did you come to work with Innowise Group?
Innowise Group contacted us through LinkedIn, but at that time, we were not looking to outsource our development work. But as our workload increased, we decided that we needed help and reached out to them.
The reason why we chose them was that we liked their previous work and their attitude. They were also cheaper than other firms, and we happened to speak the same language, so it was really easy to communicate with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent somewhere around $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in May 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Innowise Group’s support has been integral in helping us release internal resources to work on more high-priority projects. This allows us to save time, money, and other resources.
How did Innowise Group perform from a project management standpoint?
Innowise Group has performed very well in terms of project management. They've been very engaged with our business, and they usually deliver on time.
We primarily communicate through email and Skype.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I really appreciate our direct communication. We’ve cut out the middleman, which means that I work directly with Innowise Group’s developers instead of going through a project manager. This makes the whole process more efficient and practical.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Sometimes, there are delays because of our time difference. It’s not necessarily a drawback for us, but rather just an inconvenience.

Please describe your company and your position there.
Tech Lead at a leading gas manufacturing agency.
For what projects/services did your company hire Innowise Group, and what were your goals?
Innowise Group was hired for developing custom software for our company. We had a lot of moving pieces to our business and thus needed an efficient system to manage all our resources. The Innowise team had developed similar software applications earlier and thus we onboarded them as our technology partner.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We discovered them on Google, reviewed their services, portfolio, past clients, etc. and felt comfortable working with them. They had a flexible engagement model and proven track record in software development.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Their team was supposed to develop software that can help us manage our resources efficiently. For this, we initially sat on a discovery call to map out the features and functions of the software. In the later stage, their team created wireframes, and designs of the software. After a few iterations, we settled on a design that looked minimal and was easy to use. After this, they moved to the second phase - development. Their team built custom modules for features we needed in the software and integrated them all to it. In the last phase, their team tested the application thoroughly to ensure it worked seamlessly as intended. As of now, they are deploying the software on the server.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with a team of software developers, UI/UX designers, copywriters, and a project manager who was leading this project.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We got our hands on the beta version of the software and from the looks of it, the software is designed as per our needs. It is simple, intuitive, easy to work with. If our estimate is accurate, we will be able to save more than 40 hours a week with this software.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The project was managed autonomously via JIRA. We communicated mostly through that software itself. Their team submitted their work, we added suggestions, and then they would revise the application accordingly. The cycle repeated. We held weekly meetings to discuss additional details about the project.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
We have worked with several agencies. But working with Innowise was the best experience so far. The kind of support we received from their team was remarkable. They treated us like their partners and not one from many ‘clients’. They ensured the project was handled carefully and things were delivered on time. Thank you so much for the amazing work you’ve done.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
They have been a really good technology partner so far. We expect the same amount of professionalism and dedication from them.

Python Code Development for Neurophysiological Startup

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the chief AI officer for a neurophysiological startup. We’re trying to build software solutions for depression detection and depression treatment outcome prediction.
What challenge were you trying to address with Innowise Group?
We needed help to validate some of our hypotheses with machine learning (ML).
What was the scope of their involvement?
Some members of the team were from our company, and some were from Innowise Group. There were a lot of small tasks, but the whole idea was to have them analyze, detect, and assess the performance of an existing deep learning model.
The team was ready to provide the whole solution, but we decided not to have a big project with them and we utilized their skills to help us. As it was a research project, they wrote Python code and provided the code to us. The code was also used to make conclusions. The team did a presentation with slides that explained the conclusion. After that, they explained the methodology of the research, the results, and why they made the conclusions they made. In the end, the results of the research were provided to us in a written report.
What is the team composition?
They provided one full-time engineer to help us with our tasks.
How did you come to work with Innowise Group?
Our founder had worked with them previously, so we already had an established connection. We also had several projects with Innowise Group.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our partnership ran from July–November 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They provided everything we expected from them, so we were pleased with their work. The information they delivered was valuable for our company and the whole research process. If we need additional expertise in machine learning, we would definitely go back to Innowise Group.
How did Innowise Group perform from a project management standpoint?
We used an agile approach, so we didn’t have strict deadlines. We had one-week sprints and generally, the team met our expectations. The project took more time than expected in the beginning, but it wasn’t because of their performance. It was because we needed to investigate more hypotheses than we initially expected. We used Jira for task management. For communication, we initially used Skype but we switched to Zoom and Slack.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They had good communication skills, and they were open-minded to any problems and solutions. They tried to look at the problem from our perspective, and they were ready to do everything to help us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I’d be happy if they had solved the site problems before and came to us with a ready solution. However, I recognized that it was almost impossible because they were a software development company and not a scientific research company. As a result, they could have more specialists available for these types of projects.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
You should have a good understanding of your needs. In addition, share your ideas and requirements with Innowise Group in a precise manner.

the review
The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am CEO of CoreLedger AG. We provide an infrastructure for blockchain applications.
For what projects/services did your company hire Innowise Group, and what were your goals?
For a customer Project we needed a software partner capable of using our blockchain-based App template to be used for a notarization project. The goal was not only to get the project built but also to find a reliable permanent partner for future projects with our customers who could do App and Web development.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We have a couple of potential future sofware development partners in the pipeline while we try to get a suitable pilot project for a first test-run. Innowise convinced with quick and straight-forward communication, no delays in getting the paperwork done, pragmatic approaches and also with their economic prices, which are especially important in a pilot stage.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The project is done in four stages. Three of them relevant for App development and thereby for Innowise. The first task - Stage 2 - was to use our Whitelabel App template and modify/extend it in such a way that it has all the features of the web application that was built in Stage 1 by another software partner. Key deliverable of Stage 2 is the NOTRZR App, available for public download in the Google Play store.
It's based on React Native. The planning is done with Microsoft Team Foundation Services TFS. Innowise first had to overhaul the design according to their UX/UI experience. Then to implement and link with the NOTRZR API. The whole project is based on a huge blockchain architecture and PKI infrastructure. We are currently in the testing phase of Stage 2 and are looking forward to get the App enriched with new and exciting features in Stage 3 and Stage 4.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We are working with 1 Project Manager, 1 Business Analyst/Designer, 1 Developer -> soon 2, 1 Quality Assurance engineer
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The App has been built in an amazingly short time of just about 3 weeks and costed just a fraction of an App that is built from scratch. This is partly owed to the fact that the App was already existing as a template and all its backend components were in place, especially a generic multi-purpose Token Economy infrastructure on blockchain. The Innowise team excelled on top of this favorable starting condition and did not only deliver the App but also completed a proof of concept for the App template approach.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Project management is done internally at Innowise. That was important for us, because we don't want to manage the development team directly. Urgent issues are communicated through Microsoft Teams. Once a week we have an alignment call to go through the backlog items and get a status update.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The development team has easily familiarized themselves with our token economy operating system and its components. They have experienced people, seniors in their area of expertise are a big plus in such a project and save a lot of time.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We have different approaches in time reporting and resource planning, however that is not a big issue.

The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the co-founder and CTO of an event management company.
For what projects/services did your company hire Innowise Group, and what were your goals?
Our event platform needs to integrate with multiple third-party systems, WordPress being one of them. We had already made a minimum viable product type of custom plugin but Innowise helped us to take the plugin to the next level. Our goals were to enable our customers to handle larger amount of events with attached media, better synchronization between our product and WordPress and overall smoother experience.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We were initially contacted by Innowise and their sales reps came to visit our office. During the introduction we found that Innowise had broad expertise in the technologies we were utilizing. In the end, we did some peer reviews from the same area and found that both skill levels and pricing was in line with the other companies. The personal touch and dedicated project manager was the deciding thing for us.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Innowise familiarized themselves with the plugin code (PHP, HTML, Javascript) and our API documentation. Then we started creating sprints with prioritized tasks and tested the milestones before creating new production versions.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Our dedicated project manager has always been the main point of contact. We also talk directly with the team leader and with the developers themselves. Usually there is 1-2 developers involved and a designer to create necessary new views.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We upgraded the plugin to function with our new API and added several new features with the help of Innowise. We have managed to close multiple new clients with these new features.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Innowise team is always reachable via Slack and they are very responsive. Even when our own team is busy, they keep on giving updates and checking up if there are any more issues to handle.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The transparency throughout the team is amazing. We can communicate directly with the developers. This way it is easier to make sure everything is going to the right direction and also developers can reach us quickly for checking details etc.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Sometimes there has been some language barriers but those were quickly fixed by adding the team leader into the meetings and they then translated the necessary bits in real time to make sure everyone understands what needs to be done. Also, in the beginning we were a bit surprised by the hours spent on tasks but Innowise was quick to allow us access to their ticket system so we have view to a more detailed break down of work done.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work for a software development company that creates apps for long-distance hiking. I’m the COO and the general council.
What challenge were you trying to address with Innowise Group?
We had a project that we didn’t have the internal resources to complete in the time frame we wanted. We engaged with Innowise to help us finish that project.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They completed a branding component in our app that they built for iOS. We gave the developer detailed specifications and they grew the feature from the ground up. He’s written the entire thing. What is the team composition?
We hired a developer and a full-time QA professional.

Please describe your company and your position there.
Trumpet provides software and business process consulting services for the financial, legal and healthcare markets. I am one of the founders, and have extensive technical experience.
For what projects/services did your company hire Innowise Group?
One of our internal applications (Java, Spring, JPA) is used for license management, invoicing and billing. We had a single developer working on this project, and needed to increase the release cadence so we could get features added more quickly. We also wanted a new perspective on the code base, recommendations for leveraging 3rd party libraries, etc...
What were your goals for this project?
To decrease the cycle time for enhancement implementations from 2 months to 1 week while increasing code quality.
How did you select this vendor?
Innowise reached out to us initially. After several phone calls with Innowise - including interviewing the developer we would be working with
- I spoke with 3 of Innowise's current clients that were of similar size and scope to us. We then scoped a very tight project and let them work. This proved out their ability to work with our version control system, and gave us a chance to evaluate their speed and code quality. The results of that test project were exceptional
- super quick turnaround, very, very clean code
- plus a willingness to push to improve things (not just do what we told them to).
- Finally, we scoped a full project enhancing our LMS software - but we selected a project that was fairly surgical so they only needed to deeply understand two or three sub-systems to be successful. Since then, we've added more and more projects, which have increased the scope of their understanding of the various sub-systems. At this point, Innowise understands about 95% of the code base.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
Innowise is now a partner in our sprint planning-we create specifications for upcoming enhancements and invite them to comment. We then maintain a shared prioritized work queue (using Trello) for specs that don't have further questions. Innowise works off that queue and delivers new functionality each week. This work has included everything from re-writing our PayPal merchant services interaction library (which was 10 years old) using modern development approaches to adding additional REST endpoints, to implementing a PDF templating system.
What was the team composition?
- Customer Operations manager
- Product Owner
- myself
- Innowise developer
- Project Manager
- Innowise PM (primarily helping with balancing scheduling at Innowise
- I do most of the in-project PM work as the Product Owner)
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
New functionality is being added weekly (instead of taking months). Our Operations group recieves the enhancements they need to work faster. We are being exposed to new libraries and ideas of how to solve the development challenges. This enables our Operations group to become much more innovative, and we are implementing efficiency enhancements at a record rate.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
We use a combination of google docs for writing product specs, and Trello to manage priorities and communicate which enhancements are being worked on, ready for code review, ready for deploy. This has been very, very effective. We also use Slack for more rapid communication when the developer has questions for the product owner.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their willingness to work with our processes and systems - but to also provide recommendations. All of our communication has been friendly, professional and solution oriented. Overall, the speed with which they deliver quality code is wonderful.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Initially, there were a few times when we asked for changes that are outside the developers skill set. The developer reached out to us after the fact to let us know that while he was able to get things working, it would be a lot more efficient if we included another member of the Innowise team who specialized in HTML/CSS/Javascript. So we are evaluating that right now. We have to explicitly ask for unit tests to be created. Once requested, they do a good job with building the tests - they just don't have a TDD instinct. This is fine - we just needed to start including test requirements in our specifications.
Innowise Group's support has been instrumental in helping the client free up resources to work on more high-priority projects, resulting in a lot of time and money saved. The highly-engaged team delivers on time, and their transparent approach and direct communication ensure a streamlined process.
