I’m the director of Gantted Pty Ltd., a web-based marketplace for construction consultants to connect with builders.
What challenge were you trying to address with InnoApps Technologies Pvt. Ltd?
We needed someone to develop our website from the ground up.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We started from scratch with the concept and design drawings. Then, we moved through the entire development process of the marketplace platform. It included integrations and reporting functions.
We started with the backend. After we built the admin and database systems required for the platform, we moved across to the frontend. Over the last two years, we’ve been working on the frontend continuously. We launched it in a beta phase and got some feedback from the industry. Then we continued to make changes to simplify it down. We created a unique system that only applies to construction consulting, and it’s primarily focused on the Australian market.

We worked with about six junior developers and one graphic designer. We had two QAs at different points. We also are now working with a senior developer to make the final changes.

We have a set run of tests we do on the platform. When we implement changes, we give them a window of about two weeks to implement them. We then run a full test dev, and then we have a week of debugging at every milestone.

World Innovation Technologies is a software company based in Austin, Texas. We provide value-added solutions for companies around the world. We’ve provided a couple of solutions to mobile operators in Gabon, Airtel, and other companies like Digitech Africa, specializing in mobile payments and IT solutions.
What challenge were you trying to address with InnoApps Technologies Pvt. Ltd.?
We were trying to look for mobile platforms that will be complementary to the payment gateways that we developed, that is, e-billing. The goal is to provide a mobile app that will allow merchants to easily go online by creating their portal within the app about their products. It will also allow the end user to find the products that they’re looking for easily.
It’s a mobile app intended for both users and merchants, providing a turnkey solution for mobile and credit card payments. We were looking for companies that can help us that was the first time that we were developing a mobile-based app.
Our web-based solution is responsive, but it was the first time that we were trying to provide a native mobile app. We didn’t have any specific experience, so we were looking for a partner to help us with the design and development, and publication in different stores.
All the processes involving our country registration without any experience, it was very important to try to find a partner with that experience and exposure with a company in Africa. What was interesting to me is that I found out they developed an app similar to ours in Senegal. We know that their team knowing the market was important.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Their team did everything. Along with design and development, they assisted with publicizing the app and any additional assistance.
They weren’t directly involved in marketing, but they did provide some feedback to help design the marketing.
As for content, I provided most of the ideas, but I relied on them to translate them to include things that can easily work or that can be easily implemented. I left the door open to their expertise to help with design and other concepts.
The app is for both iOS and Android.
What is the team composition?
There was the project manager, and I’ve interacted with one developer and two QA officers. For the design part, I had two designers.
How did you come to work with InnoApps Technologies Pvt. Ltd.?
I posted ads online looking for a freelance agency. I then did a few interviews. As I said, I chose them because they had previous experience with another mobile payment application.
How much have you invested with them?
The actual amount is around $20,000. We initially budgeted around $30,000, but after deciding to only focus on the mobile app, that decreased.
What is the status of this engagement?
The partnership began a little bit before the pandemic, but we paused for a while before resuming in June 2020. The project was completed, but the partnership is still ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The design and development were perfect. We’re now preparing for the actual launch. Currently, we’re in the test phase, and the marketing is being worked on. The app has been published on iOS and Android.
I’m very satisfied with the way the design was done. The team put a lot of tools for us to help with follow-ups. For the development part, I pay attention to the design, and the code is well-structured. I have access to all the source codes so I can review them.
Generally speaking, I’m pretty satisfied with the way the project was conducted and the quality of the work.
How did InnoApps Technologies Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?
We have regular reviews with the project manager. I’m in the US, and they’re based in India, but I can reach out to the project manager at any time. I really appreciate their availability and communication flow.
We mainly use Slack for daily communications and Zoom for meetings. We also use Figma for design and Jira Atlassian for all the bug and issue tracking.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I usually use freelancers for these jobs, and they’re the first agency I’ve used. So far, I’m pretty satisfied with what we have done and achieved. I’ve learned a lot from their team. They guided me through all the steps, how to create a certificate, how to publish an app, and how to perform a review.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Because I have a technical background, I really like to be involved. I would’ve liked to have more exposure to the developers. I can understand that some people like to have full control, but I like to know all of the details and steps for me.
Other than that, the project manager was available most of the time, and the developers were mostly available during Indian business hours. The more you work with international companies, the more you should try to adjust a little bit. I had some technical questions, so they could try to adjust their timelines based on the customer.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
For projects like this, it is important to be active. I try to be very reactive to ensure everything is being paid attention to and that we don’t have long delays.
Make sure that they’re scheduled. Try to prioritize things that have a dependency on others, especially with a time difference. Coordination with teams and making sure that requirements are clear will save a lot of time. I would really recommend clear requirements and communication.

What challenge were you trying to address with InnoApps Technologies Pvt Ltd ?
I needed a mobile app developed for my business idea. I brought it to them, and they developed it for me specifically. I was looking to replicate how we physically exchange business cards digitally.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I gave them an idea of different screens and some designs, and they went and developed the entire thing. The app includes a QR code, a generator, and a scanner. Every time someone signs up, they get a business card and each card has a QR code graphic on it that you can actually scan and they're added to your wallet. You can also set reminders for different business cards, things like a fancy notification drawer. They also give you the option to actually customize your business card so you can change your name, your headline, your color of the cards, and even your profile picture. The app is for iOS and Android, developed using React Native and a Firebase backend.

I worked with four people. There were two developers and two project managers — they were a very easy to work with and a very transparent team.

We had previously designed and worked on Swapwith mobile application in 2016. Last year, we noticed that our competitors had upgraded their apps and improved their overall UX/UI experience so we lost so many users for this. What were your goals for this project?
Our main goal was to match the overall UI design quality and user experience with what's on the market. We also wanted to not only enhance our apps user experience and increase our apps downloads by the beginning of 2020 but also retain our market share that we had lost to our competitors.
How did you select this vendor?
My team and I searched online within and outside China for a company that can help us fulfill our goals. Because in the past, we didn't vet vigorously who was best fitted for the job, this time, we interviewed about 100 potential applicants. After viewing each company's portfolio including their individual work experience, we hired five companies and asked each to individually to first design three UI screens for our app which we paid for. We all loved the overall work that InnoApps Technologies submitted. The screens blew our minds because they not only exceeded our expectations, but designers also submitted work as per promise. This was the first sign of their excellent work ethics and professionalism. So, we hired InnoApps Technologies for the whole project.

In the 1st iteration of the Web-App InnoApps were able to turnaround a concept into a publicly facing App that integrated 3 pieces of technology, previous never before offered in the market. Since then InnoApps have successfully delivered multiple other iterations of the App, duplicating the technology for other sporting bodies and improving the reliability and performance of the App along the way.

Most of my interactions where directly with the Project Manager who took the time to really understand the unique requirements and make suggestions ideas on how things could be improved. We used Trello to keep track on how this were progressing allow our conversations to stay focussed on agreed delivery goals.

Their appetite for delivery and success was always positive and their ability to be contacted at vary hours across the day or night also helped cater for my own bus schedule.
Are there any areas for improvement?
With the App build I was often given inadequate timeframes fro my customer. This had a flow on affect for InnoApp who were always hapy to support these tight timeframes. One suggestion is to always ensure the work completed is as per the agreed prioritise which sometimes wasn't the case from the developers.

What challenge were you trying to address with InnoApps Technologies Pvt. Ltd?
We needed help building a mobile app for one of our clients. It was the first application we developed under our company.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We worked together with InnoApps to hire a few developers for this project. After I provided the wireframes, they took care of the rest. The app is built for iOS and Android and works with a paired website that connects to its user database. The system facilitates direct calls and includes push notifications on both platforms.
The product serves several different purposes. Initially, it was meant for emergencies in places like restaurants, hotels, and hospitals. Using an iPad, one supervisor can contact every employee with an Android or iOS phone at once. They can create and save 16 prepared messages to send out. Users can also download the reports it generates.
Internally, we use the app to message employees when lunch is served. It’s useful for any company that needs to contact specific groups of employees. During medical emergencies, it’s set up to contact people on the work floor with relevant medical histories first.

They’ve performed well in this respect. InnoApps Technologies uses fast and responsive project management tools for tracking our dedicated team’s time, and they’ve managed our projects smoothly. We use Slack and WhatsApp for communication and Trello for posting tasks and comments.
We provide wireframes for our projects, and we require a software requirements specification document on that basis, which is a sensitive part of any development project. This makes requirements clearer. We’ve had some hiccups around development, but this is fine. I understand that mistakes happen.

They provide a full set of tech services, from design to development so we don’t need to look for different teams for parts of the project. They even handle the marketing. The team is good overall, especially in terms of design.

A marketplace in the Construction industry in Australia that connects consultants and builders on a single platform. I'm the Project Manager, in charge of the product development and daily operations.

- Product development from A to Z, both back-end system and front-end platform.
- Development of a freelancing platform that connects independent consultants and builders in the construction industry, including specific features such as bidding and sending invoice.
How did you select InnoApps Technologies Pvt. Ltd and what were the deciding factors?
- I was not the person at the origin of the project, but as far as I know, we selected InnoApps based on a recommendation from a connection in Australia.

- As mentioned above, the scope of work includes the development of the platform from scratch for both the back-end system (management of tenders, invoices and payments) and the front-end platform (users)
- Key deliverables: Marketplace portal, could be assimilated to a freelancing platform with all the features you can think of.
- They have used PHP for the back-end language and MySQL for DB.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
A team of 3-4 people most of the time, including the Project Lead and 2-3 IT members depending on the number of tasks or issues to be fixed.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We have launched the platform about a month ago, V1 is fully operational, working on the V2 on a staging server in parallel.

Communication essentially via Trello in regards to the product development and management of ongoing tasks. The rest of the communication would be by email (formal) or WhatsApp (informal updates) for urgent matters.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They have a good understanding of the final product we're aiming at producing. So it facilitates the communication and understanding of the directives.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Always space for improvement in every company, coding is not an exact science so sometimes new features create new issues.
