I’m the founder of MindHour, an education technology provider.

What challenge were you trying to address with Innctech Solutions?

When we established the company in 2014, we needed help to develop our idea. Our aim was to elevate the education field to the technological level of other industries. Education had been lagging by 20–30 years. We wanted to provide a platform where students could access relevant content. Algebra and other tutorials are freely available online. We wanted to map those to school curriculums.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Innctech created everything from scratch for us, from website design to development. We had involved discussions during which their team learned about our idea. They gave us different design approaches.

The platform was built using the Codeigniter PHP framework and a MySQL database. Uploading complex mathematical equations was a challenge but Innctech found a way to integrate the LaTeX editor into the platform.

Students can log in and access their profile histories. We have an admin panel on the backend for creating and uploading content. We received a lot of student and teacher feedback after launching the platform, based on which we added a lot of new features on the site. It came to have more than 25 panels, which are managed using a custom CRM.

What is the team composition?

We communicated with one of their lead developers, who acted as project manager. There were multiple other developers and designers working under him.

How did you come to work with Innctech Solutions?

I was referred to them by a common acquaintance.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Innctech in April 2014. The first website was launched in November of that year. Our collaboration ended in June 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We currently have more than 500,000 registered users. Innctech built our entire platform from the ground up so they knew our architecture very well. They were able to give us alternative approaches whenever we discussed a new feature. Their methods proved easier and faster, while still solving our requirements.

How did Innctech Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Most of the communication was done over Skype. We also had phone calls. Our teams are located in different Indian cities, with no direct flights between us. I did meet them in-person around 2016.

We tried using project management software but, being a startup, we have dynamic needs. Our scope was never fully defined, given that students gave us constant feedback. There were occasions when we had to launch a new campaign within a day. We were able to contact them during the evening to make a new request for the following day. Innctech was always supportive and willing to work until late into the night during these times.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciated their commitment. Our relationship ended in June 2017 because we wanted to have a partner closer to our office. Our new company delivers everything within the scope, but they’re only available during business hours. We could approach Innctech at any time for a discussion. They were completely committed to the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their written communication needed improvement but it didn’t affect their work or our business. They knew what they were doing.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Innctech is open to discussions so, if the customer has something in mind to implement, they can approach the team. They’re able to discuss things internally and come back with ideas. Regular communication can lead to very good products.
