I'm the COO at Spot On, an automated market research platform designed for insights professionals, marketers and agencies who want to test, learn and move faster.

For what projects/services did your company hire INMEDIATUM, and what were your goals?

We have been offering market research services for 15+ years, we work with Fortune 1000 brands worldwide, so we were looking for a way to offer our market research service at scale.

We tested tens of tools in the market but none of them could bring to live our unique method of data collection that combines quantitative and qualitative data collection simultaneously. Also we were lacking in experience in building and offering digital services.

Thereby we started to look for a technology partner that could assists us not just about the programming but also about the product definition and help us to shape our tool to fit our business model.

SOLUTION

How did you select INMEDIATUM and what were the deciding factors?

We were looking for agencies with high talented people and with certain pedigree that could demonstrate they have worked with world-class brands but that could give us a competitive advantage and a fair price.

We started to look for nearshore companies and in our research we discover INMEDIATUM as top platform developers in the region among others.

We talked to all of them after 4 months of selection, INMEDIATUM was selected because the guidance they offer us above others, we could felt they were caring about our goals and project not just billing hours, plus they had vast experience in the field.

We need to have a digital tool for mobiles Android and iPhone and Web administrator + report tool + AI integration, that allow us to conduct realtime and on demand market research studies, capable of collecting data and generate reports in realtime, in 4 languages: English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.

The platform should be able to growth and shrink by-itself depending on the demand in order to optimize costs. The platform should be able to assists us to autogenerate report's insights and data interpretation using Natural language generation (AI) so a human expert can confirm and add top line reports for every study

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were able to run pilots 12 weeks after the first meeting with them and we were able to scale up 40 studies in parallel with more than 1.5 million participants.

Their notable experience help us to save significant amounts of time and money. They gave us confidence to grow our commercial strategy.

We got status update weekly sessions with the project manager, all issues and changes were addressed immediately . If something needs urgent assistance the project manager was very responsive.

Their ability to grasp rough concepts and materialize it into a product that was beyond our own expectations.

We didn't know they could help us with all what they did, would have been good to know their entire service portfolio upfront.

They helped build the software and deploy it, within 90 days. The app features telemedicine, allowing users to video with certified doctors. There is a sitemap that shows outbreaks of disease, such as COVID-19, happening in certain regions. Their team used Python for the development.

We began working together around September 2019, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We had pre-sales, so on-time delivery was a driving metric. They were successful in meeting that. Once the software was deployed, it scaled very fast from a small group to roughly 2 million users. There were no issues when the platform updated. The ability to scale so quickly shows how experienced this team is.

How did INMEDIATUM perform from a project management standpoint?

They did very well. They clearly communicated progress each step of the way, and they delivered what they promised on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They quickly understood the project, grasping the bigger pictures. They made suggestions and were committed to producing quality work.

It would be nice to have a simplified version of their proposals. They tended to be very long and detailed.

I am the COO at Dataware we are a SAP B1 partner that provides logistics and warehouse management solutions. I lead our team to support daily basis operations and the constant growth our company in LATAM and the USA.

Software development of a mobile application for Tablets and iPads that integrates with our WMS for SAP B1 driven to mobile work force. We partner with inmediatum to build this mobile app as a new product to extends the capabilities of our sales portfolio.

What were your goals for this project?

Extend the capabilities of our WMS solution where our customers need it, on the go. From the end customer perspective we needed an easy to use solution that reduces training and support calls. From our perspective we wanted an affordable, robust, scalable and easy to deploy solution.

How did you select this vendor?

We wanted a vendor with proven experience on building digital products and add-ons for SAP. We got a recommendation from a close colleague about inmediatum. After the first workshop we had with them we noticed their expertise in the field and professionalism.

They helped to build a mobile add-on for our WMS solution that runs on SAP business one. We needed an iPad and tables applications and a way to integrate it to our WMS solution. The app needed to be 100% customizable from our back-office, not only in terms of UI but in terms of workflows.

What was the team composition?

In our end we got a project manager and tech leader. At inmediatum's end they got a project manager 2 backend engineers, 1 architect and 2 mobile developers.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We tried to build this project with other vendor months ago with terrible results. So the first thing that we considered part of the value we got was that they delivered on time and the way they delivered was a positive surprise for our team. 

We loved their way of working. Everything was crystal clear at any given moment. They came along with our sales team to receive direct feedback from the first customers that we presented the product so they help us to ask the right question so we can really understand what our customers want. 

The end result, we got 150 pre-sales of the product before launch. Now it was clear to me and my team what they meant by saying their focus was on delivery tangible results to their customers in the first meeting we had.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

It was well organized and punctual. Our team got clear visibility of what they were doing and what we would receive at the end of every stage. Which gave us confidence and a clear timeline for us to finish on time the job that was need in our end.

I'd like to highlight 3 things: 

1. The usability of the apps was so intuitive that our customers loved it.
2. Their problem solving capacities, during the project we got different issues due to thing consideration we didn't foresee but they help us to address them to minimize the impact. 
3. Their tech approach for backend integration was amazing and they were very patient and supportive with our team.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Sometimes they provided too much details in the communications such as meeting minutes and reports, maybe if they simplify it or provide the highlight in a different section will be faster to catch up with the information.

For what projects/services did your company hire INMEDIATUM?

INMEDIATUM helped us to build our dream, from the proof of concept all the way up to full product development. We started with a small pilot test to get some investors onboard, so we worked with INMEDIATUM to have a functional prototype. Based on the result and after our first funding round, we decided to move forward with them and iterate a few more times until the first market was release ready.
 

What were your goals for this project?

In 5 years we had multiple goals, but I'd say the most important were: Concept validation, full product development, growth and acquisition

How did you select this vendor?

It took us about four months to decide which vendor to work with. We had a rigid vendor selection process that started with an RFP, then a set of interviews and references in the industry. INMEDIATUM went through this process fulfilling the expectations of our teams: Financial, legal/compliance, and technical team

INMEDIATUM helped us to build our mobile apps for Android and iPhone, backend systems, and all the integration with our core baking systems, reporting tools, voice-enabled app for Amazon echo, and Alexa. They also did our marketing automation platform.

The project had multiple stages. First, we wanted to validate our concept, so INMEDIATUM help us to build a set of rapid prototypes and eventually a POC that help us a lot get our first investors onboard. Then, we needed to bring to life our mobile bank. Our parent company was an expert in building brands and business, but we didn't have too much experience with technology. It required a lot of effort to put all pieces together, from the licenses and regulations to getting investors and third-party vendors to build our digital company. 

We weren't a big team at the time, but we need to fulfill the growing customer-base we had, so INMEDIATUM helped us to build a web-based business intelligence tool integrated with our CRM and banking systems to get deep insights of our customer's behavior. Last but not least, to grow, we needed an operation ready to scale, so INMEDIATUM helped us automate our customer funnel and marketing options, building complex APIs to integrate over 16 different platforms and a web dashboard where we could orchestrate everything.

What was the team composition?

Along the way, we got multiple teams working with INMEDIATUM, depending on the stage of our platform. We started with a small team of one project manager, one mobile developer and one backend engineer and eventually it was formed by three project managers, mobile development, eight engineers, two web engineers four backend engineers, two solution architects and two UX designers, one cloud architect, and two product managers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We trust INMEDIATUM because they deliver on time and they are able to deliver an entire solution from A-Z. They helped us to build a profitable company through technological innovation, from the concept to the full operations. The most significant outcomes I'd say: Get our first funding round due to awesome prototypes. Get our first 1,000 paid customers after launch. Enabling to grow our team reach by 7X saving us thousands of dollars.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their team was very responsive and had good chemistry with our team. It felt like they were part our team. There was always someone who attended our questions and feedback.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their creativity to solve complex problems is stunning. During the project, we came across multiple roadblocks and they always found a way to convert the NO into YES. We certainly love that because we also always try to make things possible.

At moneyamigo we believe that God and the devil lives in the details. We are perfectionists and INMEDIATUM is super aligned with our way of thinking. They were very professional and diligent in every area, from project management and UX designers to sales and engineering. In our industry, compliance is critical, but INMEDIATUM demonstrated vast experience in PCI compliance among others.

We didn't know they also offer other services like AI, so our team started to look for other vendors. We ended up working with INMEDIATUM with AI as well but it would save us time to know all their services before.

There was always someone we could talk to that was able to make decisions about the project, and we liked that. We didn’t have any communication issues and they were all very professional. Every delivery was done on time, and any issues were fixed as soon as possible.
