Functionally, we wanted it to generate analytics about customers and sales. Our requirements included the ability to synchronize with our email, social media, and our session initiation protocol (SIP) accounts.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed to create a smart analytics service. The main problem we had was understanding how to interpret a high volume of information and analytics. Our overarching goal was to build an automated management process to save us time that we were wasting on the manual processes we had in place. By using software and computers, we intended to make the workflow much faster.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We looked for a team that specialized in creating interfaces and databases and found InfoShell on social media. After assessing their previous work, we connected with InfoShell’s manager.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Our product is a CRM cloud platform that connects with our call-center and emails. Key functions include a useful sales funnel based on the arguments we input. The analytics component helps us keep track of our most loyal customers. 

The system divides our management processes into smaller steps before analyzing them by calculating conversion within the sales funnel. It affords our company a greater level of control over the production process.

We communicate with the team through the product owner. I found this communication strategy quite useful.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

InfoShell is engaged and committed to supporting us. We are satisfied with the service they've delivered. There are no bugs or other errors in the final deliverable that could disturb us from our work.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

I was intrigued by the method InfoShell used. It definitely made the process easier. The capable professional we worked with explained to us in detail how the team was creating our app. They told us everything we needed to know and clearly conveyed our requirements to the programmers. 

Moreover, InfoShell made sure we always knew exactly what was happening. Telling us about their plans for future services have us an opportunity to change the scope if needed.

The team at InfoShell is very efficient at development. They’re highly knowledgeable about current best-practice methods in the industry. I admired the ways they found to make our app better and more effective. They created the exact product we requested.  

Are there any areas for improvement?

There’s room for improvement on every team. I felt wary during the first few times we met about only having one point of contact. We were concerned about relaying the details of our product requirements and getting the results we wanted. Despite my concerns, InfoShell delivered everything we asked of them. I encourage InfoShell to tell future clients about their methodology in more detail.

InfoShell built our mobile food delivery app, handling the coding, UX/UI design, and payment system integration. Their product owner compiled a backlog of the project tasks, and we approved it before commencing development.

Using the app, customers can place orders regardless of their location and have fresh restaurant food delivered to them. It also features menu syncing to display up-to-date food options, geolocation for easy navigation, a review section to comment on restaurants, and a notification system to promote sales and discounts.

What was the team composition?

We exclusively worked with their product owner, but there were also developers working in the background.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The app currently holds a 4.2 rating, which we consider a success.

What challenge were you trying to address with InfoShell?

We had an idea to create a social platform for searching movies based on a user’s interests, called Watchaaa!, and needed developers to help us create it.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Watchaaa! is mobile app that provides a solution to unite cinema fans with the goal of communication, exchange of opinions about the screenings and search for interesting movies.

The main goal of the app was to attract users and provide them a comfortable platform for social interaction on the topic of cinema. We compiled the product requirements document for the project and prototypes that described it for implementation.

The first stage was set for implementation of a convenient platform. In the course of our collaboration, we implemented the mobile app for iOS and Android. Due to the fact that the work was done using Scrum and thanks to the InfoShell’s analysts, we rejected unwanted features by eliminating them during the first stage, which allowed us to publish the application earlier without any serious loss for the end users, and to collect early feedback about the created project.

What is the team dynamic?

The team consisted of five people. We communicated with the project manager, had two developers, a QA engineer, and a designer.

How did you come to work with InfoShell?

The project was planned to be large scale. One of the key requirements for the vendor company had to have was experience with mobile, social project management. We combed the market leaders on mobile development and chose those that completed complex, social projects. Among them, we found InfoShell.

The next criteria for selection required having skill in working with flexible methodologies and ability to provide a finished product for every stage of development. InfoShell described their Scrum work process and showed examples of project results for different stages of development. After analyzing our project documentation and providing a detailed presentation, InfoShell produced a work plan with defined stages and a commercial proposal. After working so well together, we decided to continue our collaboration and accepted their offer.

The project started in January 2016 and ended April 2016.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

In the first three months, our app was used by more than 4000 unique users and had over 10, 000 downloads.

During the collaboration, we gained colossal experience in the area of project management from InfoShell, which we still use inside the company.

How did InfoShell perform from a project management standpoint?

After they created a prototype, we liked it and started development. During this process, there were some problems, but sprints were completed in the allotted time. With every work report, InfoShell specialists showed not only the final value for end users but also all implemented scenarios in the framework of the objective. This helped a lot in testing the product and understanding how the final system worked.

What did you find most impressive about them?

InfoShell quickly understood our main idea and goal from the first meeting with the project manager.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were some misunderstandings during the development, but the project manager solved them quickly. There were some bugs in the final product, but they were eliminated in a timely manner. All in all, we were really satisfied with the app.

Our main goal was to develop a solution designed to make real estate selection (including elite real estate) as simple and convenient as possible through the use of an adaptive website using PHP Yii and My SQL and a mobile application for iOS.

At that moment, we had our own website but it was inconvenient and confusing for our users, so we had to create a new one. We also didn’t have a mobile application, which was a big problem because we weren’t receiving potential leads from the mobile market and the website and the competitors at the time were stronger. We also wanted to strengthen our own brand position and attract new clients.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We have a list of recommended mobile developers in Russia and InfoShell was among them. In addition, our industry colleagues advised us to turn to them. We also looked up ratings and InfoShell was at the top. We went to their website and were captivated by the large number of jobs that were completed at reasonable prices. We basically began working with them because of their vast experience.

Describe the project in detail.

They work using a Scrum methodology, which we really liked because it allowed us to get the app much earlier. It had limited functionality but it allowed us to see what our product would look like and make changes. After the changes, we got more versions of the app and had a final version on time and with higher quality than expected.

We granted InfoShell the full freedom of action. As a result, they made a very nice product with a good design. All was in order on the website and the important sections to us, such as the elite real estate one, noticeably stood out. Also, all the call-to-action buttons were in the right places. We liked the design most of all as it gave a status to our brand.

This was a large project and InfoShell completed it just a few months.

What was the team composition?

We communicated mostly with the product owner/manager who managed the project, taking our wishes and transforming them into tasks for developers. There was also a Scrum master, some developers, a tester, and a designer involved.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What outcomes or results can you share that demonstrate progress and/or success?

We are very pleased with the results. The traffic to our website increased twofold when compared to the old one and the time that users spend on the website has also gone up. The new website also began to attract our target audience more effectively.

InfoShell met the set deadlines despite the fact that the project was large and everything was developed from the ground up. They were a good investment and we gained a lot more in the end.

What business challenge were you trying to address with InfoShell?

We came up with the idea of creating an app for fishing enthusiasts. The main task of the application is to give users, in a short time and with minimal costs, information about catching a specific fish in a specific body of water with specific weather conditions. That’s quite a challenge, considering the variety of options and factors that affect the required result! 

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in greater detail.

To accomplish this task, we developed a unique algorithm that, within a convenient and attractive interface, allowed users to quickly and elegantly implement a personal assistant for a fisherman of any level. More than 120,000 options and results are processed by the program to make the right recommendation about fishing. Our app also works like a social network for people who like fishing. They can share experiences and photos of their catches and keep in touch with each other.

InfoShell gave us some design examples, and we chose the ones we liked. They developed the app for Android and iOS.

How did you come to work with InfoShell?

InfoShell was recommended to me by a friend.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with InfoShell one month ago. The app was delivered in a two-week period. I came up with some new requirements and continued working with InfoShell.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

The app is live and being used by people. I don't have any user stats yet. We are grateful to InfoShell for their comprehensive and professional approach to solving the question at hand. Thanks to the efforts of their team, the mobile application turned out to be convenient and attractive. Most importantly, the application quickly and functionally correctly solves our main objective—to help a fisherman in his/her difficult task.

The flexibility of the developed solution should be mentioned. By using a distributed server with a smart content management system, we can easily and add to and work with the app’s algorithmic output.

How did InfoShell perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything worked great. I've had no problems collaborating with InfoShell.

What distinguishes InfoShell from other providers?

InfoShell works fast, which is one of their main advantages. I haven't needed to wait for projects to come through, which gave me time to make improvements and decrease the risk of an ineffective project.

We were expanding to Asian markets and a mobile application was necessary to increase our presence. One of our large customers was ready to implement the FreshOffice CRM system only if the mobile application was available. This was one the key motivating factors for creating this product.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our marketing department was tasked to increase the attractiveness of the CRM system for new clients and to grow the loyalty of existing ones. Thus, it was very important for our business to develop an application that provides additional value for our users, which is what InfoShell did.

It was important for us to have professionals working on our project who love their job and know what they’re doing. Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We are satisfied with the result of our collaboration with InfoShell. The development was systematic — we got new pieces of tested software every week. Currently, the application is published in stores and our clients around the world can download it.

The product strengthened our competitive advantage on the CRM systems market and the performance of our company has increased. We now have a convenient system to control data and a visual display of indicators. We already had a CRM before InfoShell began working with us, but we lacked a user-friendly tool for data analytics. Now, we have no problem with record keeping and operation system access. We are happy about our collaboration with InfoShell and will continue it.

How did InfoShell perform from a project management standpoint?

I think that InfoShell has a professional team that examines not only the system with which they will work but the company too. They’ve guided our project from the initial concept in order to obtain indicators. We received a weekly progress report and called each other every day.

InfoShell used flexible Scrum methodologies while working with us. We liked the visualization of the development process, the weekly sprints, and their teamwork. The guys from InfoShell quickly merged into our team and showed good results on the first sprint.

I was impressed by their speed of development, the team's performance, and their technical professionalism. We also appreciate their attention to details and their understanding of the target audience that the product is for.

Are there any areas InfoShell could improve?

I was a program manager and managed all aspects of the program: business analysis, project management, programmer management, portfolio management, change management, IT transformation, adopting new IT systems and operational procedures, and managing contractors.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with InfoShell?

Insignia was going through a programming change that made the company more stable and effective. The program included recruiting new clients from other wealth brackets, improving marketing, automating business processes, consolidating websites, and developing mobile apps. We had the following requirements from our developer:

  • Creative ideas and an app roadmap for development.
  • Advice on what additional features will enhance client experience and at what phase we should implement them.
  • Advice where to gather data for sports events, viewing and selecting of seats, and other useful data that will enhance client experience.
  • Description of additional software to use and why to use it in order to improve client experience, including its purpose, functionalities, and capabilities.
  • Future-proof design and strategy.
  • Develop a mobile app.
SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

It was a very challenging task. We had to complete the initial phase of the project within 2 months. InfoShell was very flexible to accommodate our requirements. We worked using Scrum Agile project management methodology that delivered the maximum effect within a short time.

InfoShell allocated their best resources to our project. The creative designer was absolutely fantastic and her design helped me sell the project to my project sponsor. All engagement was remote because I was based in London and the InfoShell staff was in Russia. To facilitate the work, InfoShell sourced staff from suitable time zones so that the time difference did not cause complications during the project delivery.

InfoShell worked on the project from the concept development to producing the app. Now this app is published in the AppStore.

How did you come to work with InfoShell?

It was through an internet search and then shortlisting for a tender. They won tender that I organized.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

They had less than 2 months to develop a concept, design, and then build the app. All was to be done for less than $30,000.

I was not only satisfied with InfoShell, but all the top managers were delighted with the application, the concept, production, and the design. I recommend InfoShell to other companies without any reservations.

How did InfoShell perform from a project management standpoint?

It was irrelevant. I'm a project manager and I directed them, and this is how I wanted it to be.

InfoShell always finds the key objectives of the project and only then starts working on the blueprints and some idea concepts. One of InfoShell's biggest strengths is their design capabilities.

What did you find most impressive about InfoShell?

We were not a good client, and we changed our mind too often. InfoShell accommodated our needs well.

Are there any areas InfoShell could improve?

Their director should not leave clients without attention and should try to keep the project team in a closer time zone to the client so that we could speak throughout the day.

Our main goal is to provide protection to our clients from SMS spam and dishonest entrepreneurs. There is a law here in Russia that requires spammers to cease sending their mail on the first request, but in reality, many of these entrepreneurs disregard requests to cancel the subscription and conduct SMS delivery without the consent of recipients.

During the time that the company has existed, we’ve already blocked more than 100,000 spam messages for our users. Currently, the project has a database of 16,000 spammers’ phone numbers.

I’m a co-founder of this company. My duties include interacting with major Russian operators, expanding the database of SMS spammers, improving the technical component of the project, etc.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with InfoShell?

We’ve set for ourselves several objectives: to allow users to easily block SMS from unscrupulous entrepreneurs, to expand our database of those unscrupulous entrepreneurs, and to pass their cases over to the FAS. We saw that the best solution for our goal was to develop a mobile application that meets our specific objectives.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

InfoShell was responsible for scheduling the project, design and developing for the Android app, server development, product testing, and product launch.

Despite the fact that we’ve replaced part of the functionality with more useful works, the process of coordination was flexible and the project was completed in time.

How did you come to work with InfoShell?

During the search for the vendor, we primarily looked at the experience of a company and their ability to work flexibly with the requirements. Since the project is one of the pioneers in its field, the requirements were constantly refined and elaborated in during the work.

Then we narrowed the search to market leaders and sent everyone a description of the project. Infoshell was one of the first to react to the request and by the first meeting, their specialists had shown interest in the project by suggesting interesting solutions on a number of questions.

After the negotiations, we were offered with a detailed presentation of the development plan, and a proposal for collaboration was made. That is how we became their client.

 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We are satisfied with the work. The project was successfully published within the specified time. For three years, we've held scores above 4.2 in the Google Play store, which tells about the stability of the application and the quality of the InfoShell's work.

Occasionally we update the application with the help of Infoshell's services. It is very convenient when a company preserves data about a project and is ready to improve it by implementing new objectives and offering additional improvements for enhancement of the service.

How did InfoShell perform from a project management standpoint?

Because we used Scrum methodology, InfoShell was constantly detailing the requirements, specifying the subtleties of the system operation and offered and, based on their experience, implementing options for various functionalities.  Every week we received a progress report and discussed further actions on the project. This reduces the risk of failure of the project.

We've had to work with different companies, but InfoShell deals with the project details. Team InfoShell never made a mistake in choosing the next step in the process. The main difference from competitors is using  Scrum methodology.

Are there any areas InfoShell could improve?

I think that the company needs to expand the staff so that the team could actively implement customer development. But they're doing that now, as far as I know.

We wanted to create a mobile application that would allow users to self-diagnose the early stages of skin melanoma.

What was your process for selecting InfoShell?

It was important to us to work with someone local. InfoShell was the only company in St. Petersburg [Russia] that offered a nonstandard solution to our problem. They approached the project with a creative mindset, unlike other companies we talked to.

SOLUTION

Can you tell me about the scope of the project?

The project as a whole is dedicated to giving people the chance for an early diagnosis of melanoma and skin cancer. It is a two-part process. InfoShell developed the mobile application end to end. They also built in a functionality that allows users to set up remote consultations in medical centers. The second part involved building a website, which is for informational purposes only. InfoShell was fully responsible for the site's development.

Can you give us a sense of the size of the project?   

The project took about 1,000 hours to complete, but I can't provide a dollar range.

When was the project completed?

The first phase of the project was completed April 21, 2015, but we are still working on the second phase.

When working with InfoShell, was there anything unique or special about them?  

I really liked that InfoShell provided information and technical support after the project was completed. I really like the results of the work they've provided me.

Looking back on the project, is there any area that they could improve upon or that you would do differently?
